@harrisonnguyen5430 they asked me to do it for flute/piccolo this year. Professors/Teachers from all over the state get asked to do it. We had to have all our videos ready several weeks ago 😊
Please check out the free additional content here in the video description, and also masterclass video for all flute/piccolo etudes can be accessed free at ua-cam.com/video/GH3U-r2TYWQ/v-deo.html
Dear @auvre6102 please watch the “practice tempo” tracks that I have on the description here, and please also watch my masterclass video at ua-cam.com/video/GH3U-r2TYWQ/v-deo.html In that video I go through a lot of ideas for each etude! Let me know what questions you have or how I can help you 🩷
@@KristaJobsonokay so like i did and i took notes on what you said for every single measure for every etude and i tried this one with the practice track, the other two etudes were fine, but i’m 100x more of a technical player and i don’t understand the rhythms at all help 😭😭
Hi Tania! Please check out my masterclass video! It is available here : ua-cam.com/video/GH3U-r2TYWQ/v-deo.html let me know if you have any questions for me :)
Hi! Practice with your metronome on the 8th notes, set very under tempo, and practice with the slow version of the free track attached to this video (in the description)
do you also have any tips for getting more comfortable with and figuring out the rhythms in this etude? when it comes to rhythms my skills are definitely lacking
and thank you for your advice i followed it and feel slightly more comfortable with the rhythms in this etude, however i still dont know how to figure out the rhythms past measure 16
@@laferte534 aha ok. Have you been able to mark in where the big beats are in these measures? I would put in the big beats and off beats and then use your metronome on the setting where it says the numbers for you. Also, please watch my video that was put out by TMEA. I go through it section by section so you can hear my comments for the part/s that you need 😍
Hi @faithfriends7571! Leading up to your audition, play your etudes in front of people as much as possible. You want to practice the way it will feel on that day to make intelligent adjustments. Drink lots of water in the weeks before hand and get enough sleep. Don’t go any faster than you can play beautifully. Remember to smile and focus on slow exhalation, to keep yourself calm and happy. Enjoy the process and let me know how it goes for you! 🩷
@@Anonymous-t4z5e first, I absolutely recommend tempi that in the recommended range, as an end goal. But beyond that, my honest answer for you is to play at tempos that allow you to convey not only flawless rhythm and intonation, but also the ability to express your musicality. This is of upmost importance and highly preferable over a faster audition that does not convey musical intent.
@faithfriends7571 I don’t mind at all!! Please check out the video below right at time mark 29:46 - let me know if this answers your question or if you were curious about something I didn’t mention 😃 ua-cam.com/video/GH3U-r2TYWQ/v-deo.htmlsi=V2dMT8Upp7ARFaHs
Hello, I got a question on measure 48 there is an S with a sharp sign on the bottom of it, what does it mean I don’t think I have ever seen that symble
Hi! The end of it is m.33 - you don’t have to go beyond there 😊 But for later, that is a turn - you play the printed note, up one, back to the printed note, one below, and back to the printed note. The sharp below means that when you go to the note below it will be sharp.
@@KristaJobson I just saw this, I am sorry for that, but thank you. Also do you recommend any type of scale or something to practice before playing these etudes
