House armies are filled with their banner-men. The Tyrell army was big, but Cersei and Jamie turned a lot of them against Olenna (like theTarly's) because they knew her banner-men wouldn't approve of her siding with Dany and the Dothraki.

Well, back in the days when this episode aired i understood why people got angry about how easily they defeated the tyrell army, however, it kinda makes sense, since Jaime convinced one of the best banner men’s of house tyrell, the strongest one, the Tarlys, also, the show has made clear many times how the tyrells where not the best option when taking about battle, the are rich in many things but when it’s about their own armies they are weak compared to others, so….
Also, the time lapse in the show can vary in every episode, even scenes, so they could have been fighting for days and not letting any crow fly help messages.

Aw, bud, this one was ROUGH on you! It's definitely a rollercoaster. On Bran - the reason he seems different and distant is because he has transitioned into the role of three-eyed raven, which trades all that knowledge and foresight and stuff for true connection to the here and now, in a sense. It's why he completely misses the fact that he's creeping Sansa out while being able to 'remember' seeing her on her wedding night, with all that entails. It's kind of tragic that the sweet, empathetic kid we meet in season one loses all his compassion... but such is GOT :)

  • @tinyblutgang
    @tinyblutgang Рік тому +3

Don't worry, the Unsullied are fine! This isn't properly explained in the show, but what the Iron fleet did was mainly for the sake of cutting off the Unsullied from the mainland. It wasn't a flanking attack, but rather sabotage (the Iron fleet's divided as well, and their main force didn't participate). The ships were sunk in order to delay the Unsullied's return, so that they couldn't sail to Highgarden should they be informed of the situation via raven, dragon, or even betrayal (covering all bases).
We have to imagine that the Unsullied were rescued by the remainder of Dany's fleet left standing at Dragonstone, which would nevertheless happen long after the Lannister's attack on Highgarden. Dany couldn't have regrouped both Dothraki and Unsullied troops for them to parry the Lannisters within that timeframe, and therefore lost.
It was a stupid plan on Tyrion's behalf. He should have known that his siblings had no vested interest in Casterly Rock to justify defending it so heavily, not to mention that the place itself was a bad strategic location for the Lannisters to park the bulk of their army when they not only had the Tyrells to subdue, but the North to push back should they also attack. Cersei's concerns now are sovereignty and supremacy, not legacy. She would have always wanted to annihilate her enemies by whatever means necessary, and losing their ancestral seat wouldn't have mattered to her so long as she had the upper hand.
Another thing to note is that Cersei firmly believes in the prophecy, and thus will act accordingly with what will kill its agent the fastest. With Margaery out of the way, Dany is the more imminent threat in Cersei's mind, and she will do anything to cast Dany down, not the other way around. It's also why she's fixated on eliminating Sansa, who might still play that very same role in the prophecy. Cersei doesn't know who will exactly, nor does the audience at this point. It's a big driving factor for her, and the larger motive behind many of her actions.
The Lannister name is entirely irrelevant to Cersei in the grand scheme of things, it's her longevity that she craves, and dodging the prophecy come hell or high water. Even if she were to believe that she cannot, Cersei would still do her utmost to prevent it from coming to pass. Tyrion's blindsided by a concept she cares so little for that it's actually hard to watch.
Most of us probably agree with your view on Elaria's fate. I have no sympathy for that viper or the sand snakes in the show. Lady Olenna's death stings more than any other on 7x03, but the Lady of Thorns went out with one final prick, and boy will that sting Cersei. Hang in there! Dany still has her original army, which to be fair is sufficiently strong in both size and firepower to conquer King's Landing. She simply needs to play her cards right.
Your reactions are super fun to watch, by the way. I've been binging them as of late, and they never fail to make me laugh. What army? The Tyrells biggest bannermen the Tarlys betrayed them and joined the Lannisters attacking them. Remember what happened when the Karstarks left Robb? Also the Tyrells had already lost most of their men in the Dornish ships during Euron's attack. As was clearly stated by Tyrion, the bulk of the Tyrell army was heading towards King's Landing to siege the capital along with Dorne. The Tyrells were already done, Jaime just gave them the coup de grace. Sometimes people don't pay attention to the details and then get angry about not getting a battle. Narrative wise there's obviously no need for a battle in this episode, we're going to get the battle next episode. And the Jaime and Olenna scene is so good, it's worth the admission price of a thousand head chopping scenes.

And I dont know how to stop it. Dont do that, even though it sounds cool on a tv series folks, it is not worth it. And you become bitter. As in the origin story of a villain.

    • @user-kt2ko6vt2q
      @user-kt2ko6vt2q Рік тому +1

Yeah, I used to do that. Thinking that way isn't a bad idea for someone who's in a situation where they're simultaneously vulnerable and threatened. It's self protection. It makes a person more aware of everything, and so it's easier to respond to situations that are, or have the potential to become problems.
Eventually though, after you're no longer in the situation (it could be days or years later), you may start realizing that you still keep on anticipating big problems where there aren't any -- or at least none that are as impactful. The anticipatory thoughts become unhelpful. Your brain starts making up scenarios where there's nothing going on -- or there's minimal stuff. But the reaction -- or the thoughts -- are the same as when you were vulnerable or in a threatened situation, and the reaction is out of proportion - way too much. It's reacting, or overreacting, instead of responding.
There's a period of adjustment after you start to figure out that you're making yourself sick. You figure out what you can, but then you have to make some changes. Or else -- just like you say -- you get more and more sick. There are all kinds of ways it manifests. Some people isolate, some get aggressive, some seem fine but are not...
The only way to get out of the prolonged, suspicious-thinking mind-set, is by making some real changes. It sounds cliche, but you have to start trusting. If you trust, you don't get as anxious. Also to get a sense of humor about yourself: a lot of things that seem like they're a big deal... they just aren't. Or they're easier to handle than it first seems.
When you can do that, then you can take a step back, and start watching how you react to things, instead of just reacting. I had to start taking myself way less seriously... as in less defensive. But more seriously in a way like: I went to therapy. CBT, and especially DBT, are amazingly effective. Anyone who has ever taken DBT thinks it should be taught to everyone. It's just life skills. Like learning how to handle situations realistically and productively.
Besides the DBT, the other most effective thing was I started exercising. E v e r y day. I took yoga classes (cause they were there, and they're not competitive or image-based, like a gym; I could just do the work, w/out distractions), and got to advanced within ~ 18 months. But that was me. Diff for other people. Diff kinds of exercise; diff pace.
It all took a few months before any real changes were noticeable to me. But when I finally started seeing them, things got SO MUCH BETTER. Everything got so much more clear eventually. Which just made me not want to fall back into it. If I started to, I wouldn't get so down on myself, which made it easier to get back on track. The DBT and exercise were the best things I've ever done for myself.
The 'trying to anticipate everything' mode of thinking is what people do when they're in prolonged, high stress situations. Like kids who were or are being abused; like soldiers who were or are in combat; like people who were or are being bullied, assaulted, etc. etc. etc. One person's brain chemistry is different from another person, so it might take different degrees of stress to get into that mode of thinking, and also to get out of it.
It's essentially getting stuck in "fight, flight, or freeze" mode. In some ways, getting through it can be like getting over a physical addiction. You get so accustomed to it, you forget there was ever a diff way to look at things. And it DOES do damage the physical body over time. All the extra adrenaline, and the immune-system starts going haywire, cause the body eventually reacts to mental stress by going on high alert, which wears it down. It becomes easier to get sick.
Anyway, it's a lot that I wrote here, and you may already know some or all of this. But if you meant what you said about how it's affecting you, I wanted to let you know that it's possible to get out of it. Maybe completely! but even just partially is way better. I promise!
If there's anything to take from all this, Google the keywords: Fight, flight, or freeze response recovery; CBT and DBT therapy; Trauma response; ptsd.
Just gotta keep trying. You'll get out of it.
p.s. none of this is to provide any excuse for MiddleFinger!
      Dude's just a mega-self-absorbed d*ck with a strategy.

Warfare in this show is something meh, but this season it's just becoming ridiculous. If you just look at the map and try to understand how do ships get from King's Landing to Casterly Rock and vice versa and how do they get past Dragonstone without being seen/known about (it's like getting around half a whole continent and especially Dorne which is allied to Daenerys)... I mean it's like Euron said a thousand of ships, not just few ones. And how do the armies get between these locations and the Reach on their foot without everyone around knowing (so that at least Varys would know)... Where did the Tyrells and Dorne army disappear (it's not like they've actually participated in the previous action so they should be somewhat full-force)... How do you siege and take a big castle with army inside in a moment's notice (remember as Starks said in first two seasons that a few hundred men could defend Winterfel against thousands - it works for most mediaval sieges before modernized artillery)... Don't get me as a nagger but it's just becoming too much for me this season.

@@theConquerersMama this is a hilarious take given your username and the fact that Dany is actually the antithesis to her families legacy in essos - which is colonization and slavery. This is made very obvious in season 1 when she is forced to assimilate into Dothraki culture and in turn uses her subtle power in that culture as khaleesi to end r word and abuse against women... She never forces anyone to love her, they do it on their own because of her kindness and empathy to the common people. Stay mad though

@@badgaltinginnit hilarious given my username 🙄
      Why?
I have a son named William who picked it. It's a family joke because in other places it's sometimes the GreatsMama for my son, Alexander.
Then I just left it. 🤷

How exactly is "ending R and abuse of women" and slavery assimilating to Dothraki culture?
What it did do was create the vary circumstances that lead to Drogo's death.
She did not assimilate enough to go the the Dos Khaleen with the widows.
The Dothraki were not exactly living by Westeros rules before her.
      Her "subtle" ways? 🙄
Is she the only colonizer? No
But to say she doesn't have a white saviour complex seems a bit short sighted from my vantage point.
She did not think about how to feed or house the people she frees. What the culture or economy will do. How the internal culture, religions or traditions will handle her changes.
Are they changes that personally align with my idea of good things - no R, abuse or slavery? Sure.
But that does mean she imposed them as a wise ruler factoring the good of all people. She did it because she's emotional and thinks her moral comfort is more important, more valid than anyone else's.
