DisobeyToday There’s a level of wholesome nostalgia that resonates with me tbh. It sounds like 2000’s cause some of that sweet chill sound of that time has been kind of missing this passed decade in my opinion.
@@travis_redfern6771 yeah the 2000s was nostalgic for a lot of people, but this song just comes off kinda corny and cringy ngl. I met this very sad and depressed and broken guy who went through a lot and as a Psychology student, I assessed him and became close friends eventually. He was starting to change and its very much evident by the way he perceive the little things in life. Secretly, throughout the process I thought its just his braveness that I liked about him not knowing it was actually his overall self that I loved. Now he's a dad and engaged to a very beautiful woman who made him a whole again as a person. I genuinely wish him the best.
When the band was talking to radio bbc 1 during the premiere of this song Matty answered they'd been working on this song for the last couple months but they started it in DLID times. The Interview should be up soon on the Radio's UA-cam Channel? I think? We'll see
I just wanna say thank you to the 1975 for validating my existence. Releasing songs based on songs I grew up with in Midwest Indiana. I grew up listening to the Smiths, arctic monkeys, morrissey, television, sugarcubes, Sonic Youth in the background of a photo from this photos shoot. No one I grew up with listened to these songs and bands and I was left out a lot socially. People still think I’m gay cause ima softy who spent his teenage years writing my feelings in my room while everyone else had friends. This song reminds me of summer road trips in 2000s the vibes gives the youthful feeling to me. Damnnnn the 1975 really bring us to every era that we miss.
I was genuinely shook by how well the live performance was on annie mac. Theyre so in their element with this song. Theyve developed their style quite a bit over the years but u can tell with this song and tht performance that at the core theyre still an emo punk pop band like they were in drive like i do.
Jake Underland: I recently watched the Reading concert on UA-cam. It looks to me like the bigger the audience, the more the band can rise to the occasion. An awesome performance at Reading.
I swear they can’t write a bad song. I’ve been listening to this band since I was 14, they’ve helped me through some dark stuff. I’m so proud of them and how much they’ve grown! ❤️
The lyrics " I think our story needs more pages Cos I’ve been in love with her for ages And ages" it's a parallel to a 'Death by a Thousand Cuts' lyrics that says "You said it was a great love One for the ages But if the story's over Why am I still writing pages?"
My first the 1975 song was Robbers and i would listen to it on repeat everyday. I could never get "you look so cool" out of my head and it would be my go to song in almost whatever mood i was in. It was one of the first songs I had shown to a new friend and he would even send me videos of it playing in public. I hope he stays in my life just like how this song has.
