Once again i want to say thank you guys for 500 subscribers. thats mind blowing. This is part one of a full argus monitor care guide that i put out. part 2 is on the way. Again i do not claim to be an expert. this is just the information i have learned over the years from keeping, researching, and talking to other keepers of argus monitors. A like and a sub would be appreciated, as these take a ton of work!

Great video bro, I love how you really went in depth and didn't just stick to basics especially about the lights, I'm new to keeping monitors I currently have a baby mangrove monitor and very picky at eating, he doesn't like to eat any insects , I'm gonna have to try that dhp light out lol

Cool vid. After watching both parts and the vid you specifically made for things to consider when getting an argus monitor, I think that Argus monitors are a pretty decent choice of reptile i should get. The only problem i have is the enclosure and the Feeding frequency.
For the enclosure, my only problem is where to get the materials for the enclosure, since i'm planning custom building the thing and i'm very unsure where to get the materials. (Here in indonesia, There's no home depot).
The second problem is the feeding frequency. According to Chat Gpt, for a juvenile, feed it everyday about 2-3% of its body weight or more. For adults, Feed it 2-3 times a week. However i'm not sure the quantity for an adult and if what chatGpt says is true.
So should I reconsider or is it atleast decent to me?
Edit: Also, Daylight cycles. So how long should my Argus monitor sleep and stay awake?

The fact that your using a grow tent makes me think your not as knowledgeable as you think. l keep Ackie monitors, and I have bred mine. I do not think they like all that heat. I have an atrium in my apartment in Tucson. My animals get real UV in the atrium open to the sky. It gets hot as hell in that atrium in the summer. I leave my door open so they can come in and out. In mid summer they only use the atrium a couple hours a day. I let them make up their own minds about the temperature they need. They run in and out of my apartment. They seem to prefer 100 to 110 degrees. At higher temperatures they get agitated and snappy. I check their stools and they look good and regular. At night they have 50 gal tanks with one 100 watt bulb and a 15 watt UV. I suggest you build a custom cage for large monitors. The best video is Can a lizard be Trained. This guy has a pair of breeding Lace Monitors in his living room. He has built a custom cage in his living room. This gentleman takes notes on behavior and is rock solid with his facts on care, breeding, temps ect. All this Lace Monitor info applies to most large Australian goanas. Cary in Tucson
