Here is a helpful tip, when the baby is sleeping, don't try to be quiet, just do whatever you normally would do. She will sleep though it and get used to the noise. I promise!

I was reading comments just to find this. Exactly!! I even ran vacuum under the crub/bassinet. Be normal the Sati will thank you for it. Remember she is use to those noises for the last 9 months. Just as she knows your voice & Suzies voice she also knows your normal house noise. As an old grandma I totally agree don't be all super quiet hush hush just be your normal adorable selves. ❤️❤️😘

The nurse was annoyed with me because I could wear them and they fit again. I didn't have a belly the day after she was born. The fact I was only 20 should have clued her in. 20 year olds bodies are MUCH different than 30 year old bodies. I'm certain many viewers have already said that when baby sleeps, YOU should sleep, also. Even tiny naps help. Take turns being the sleepy parent and grab a nap while letting the other one do laundry or cook.
Most importantly, she is not going to stay this tiny for long. Watch her eyelids flutter as she sleeps. Feel how soft her cheek feels on yours. See the those tiny fingers curl around just one of yours. "Tired" passes quickly. Hugs to you all of you!

Here in the USA its hospital policy that a nurse or an attendant has to bring us down in a wheel chair to our vehicle (this is for ANYONE that stays in the hospital not just new moms) but for new babies they have to verify there is a carseat for the newborn baby.

Sati, you are such a beautiful Angel! Why is Papa surprised that you cry if they put you down? You are in such a tiny new body and you have never been alone before. You came from God and then was safe in your Momma’s warm tummy, hearing her heart and voice. If they put you down, this Gramma in Hawaii says you should cry loudly! You deserve to be next to their hearts until you decide you feel safe to be a little bit away from them.
Dan and Susie, I had seven babies; six born at home. In USA parents sometimes put babies in cribs, even in another room. Not me, ever! If she sleeps right by you, you hear every change in her breath, every little squeak for milk or comfort . She needs this, and you will survive. It will pass in time. Feeding every two hours is perfect for a tiny newborn. Most babies suddenly sleep six or more hours when they reach the magical weight of 12 pounds. I don’t know why, but it happens!
Just love her, as you do, and give her whatever she wants. You cannot spoil a new baby. Her wants, right now, are her NEEDS. Her breathing regulates with yours. Follow nature’s way, not crazy people’s ideas!

Of all the advice in all these threads, this is THE BEST and MOST TRUE AND MOST IMPORTANT!
THIS IS THE ONLY ADVICE THEY NEED TO PAY ANY ATTENTION TO!
NO truer words have been said. YOU CANNOT "SPOIL" A NEWBORN! THAT is the STUPIDEST, most HORRIBLE advice ANYONE ever has or could give to any parent. In fact, I think it's cruel. KEEP YOUR BABIES CLOSE TO YOU AND IGNORE ANY ADVICE TO DO OTHERWISE!
Letting them "cry it out" IS NOT good for a baby in any way EVER! There's another term for that, it's called NEGLECT!
If u don't respond to your babies cries, you could miss something important she's trying to tell you. A newborn is too young to learn to self soothe. That's why they need parents! Remember, no adult still cries for their mommy, she will learn to self soothe when it's time for her to learn it. They are babies for such a SHORT TIME!
      LOVE EM UP REAL GOOD!

When she is awake, uncover her hands and arms so she can move them. Swaddling is for sleep. They use their hands to comfort themselves in the womb. Do her care at night around 9pm. Wake her, undress her, bathe her. Let her cry a little. Then her long sleep time will be at night. Remember they can't tell time, so you have to work to set her wake and sleep time. She's beautiful. I've raised 7, ending with twins and I worked as a mentor to new young parents. My tip to new parents: When infants get very fussy (which most do at times), most often it is digestion issues. Watch her legs if she cries a lot. How they move their legs can give you a tip to the issue. If they keep pulling legs up to body, usually just gas/indigestion so you know to help relieve that. If they are kicking their legs out, it is usually lower digestion issues, where they are struggling to have a bowel movement or some constipation, so you can work on that. There is no manual, but we all learn through experience, and you'll be pros soon. No sleep the first 3 to 6 months, but that time goes fast. Wishing you a very long life of so much joy and happy memories!

In the US she has to be in her car safety seat and they check that it’s correct before you’re discharged. You’ll get sleep in about 6-8 weeks, but enjoy sweet Sati, because the time goes by so quickly. YES, clean, wash the dishes, vacuum be normal, the baby will get used to sleeping through it.
