I love Butler but he is such a kill joy and a right moody sod - still love him - oaks was the clean cut focused musician they needed in that band - he emulated Bernards sound like any one influenced by anything does - but totally made it his own - he has a much shinier bright sound where as bernard was just dark - even his pop tunes were atonal - which I love tbf
There were actually more than that! Watch l7WGvcCNWZM (cut and paste it after the = sign or just stick it in the search box) Butler explains how to play the song.
Suede seemed to bury the bass guitar and remove a lot of bass from the other instruments in their first album. Brett said it was his fondness for treble after growing up with his mother's old record player. The band's sound definitely isn't bass & percussion led (their bassist and drummer are both great musicians, its more to do with the songwriting). The trebly tone is part of Suede's great sound, but still the band admitted they were a bit naive on the first record's production and it sounds very thin. It didn't stop the album really rocking though, because of how brilliant and individual the songs were! They got the perfect sound with Dog Man Star I think
It sounds amazing - finally live with TWO guitars, the way it was meant to be.
The drummer NEVER ages!!!
None of them age!
His singing voice was so touching that I got goosebumps up and down my neck!
One of the best bands ever!!! Why, why they are so underrated??
Still sound amazing so many years later. Love Suede! They were before my time but so pleased to have discovered them
They're back!! I want the 90's back!
Это драйв на равне с song2! Гениальные треки всей музыкальной эпохи.
They are totally on. nice.
I love this song. Got to get the album on Vinyl,
Richard (and Neil) plays it well but Bernard is still superior in my mind. He's my favourite guitarist of all time.
+Oliver Harper I am also of the opinion that Bernard is better but then I maybe be prejudiced having been a devoted fan right from the start.
Me too
The ghost of Bernard Butler
yep!
that outro was tight
brett is still HOT!
Saw them at the Birmingham 02 and they were amazing. They do not need Butler who is a moody sulker. What has he done since?

Bang a Gong - Get it On
Great performance tho
Bernard Butler did it with only one guitar - and it sounded better.
Not enough bass in their music.
No, there is actually a ton of bass. Listen to The Drowners and Where The Pigs Don't Fly. There's some really nice bass in those songs.
+deanc2000 I hope you're being massively sarcastic... haah
