- Short clips of the resonator delete on my 2017 Audi S3, the car only has 100 or so miles on the clock so the exhaust will change over the next couple thousand miles, however it's sounding pretty good at the moment.

All those pops and crackles would do my head in over time.

S3s in the States will not sound like this unfortunately. We did not get the revised exhaust note that you guys got for the 2017s. Jealous of your crackles and pops.
ThatBlueS3 I saw you mentioning that on one of your videos which is a huge shame cause it's one of the main reasons why i bought it haha, i'm sure a ecu map will get you those pops tho!
Chris Simm I was praying that we got that update here when I ordered my car last year because we basically had zero information when they started taking orders. But nope. I bet they end up releasing that in the 2018s here. 🙄

Hey mate nice video! My S3 is arriving in March and I’m intrigued to know if the stock exhaust (with the resonator) is still loud? Are the bangs loud too? This resonator delete sounds super loud which I think I want haha.
A S I only had it stock for 2 hours lol but tbh even without the res, it’s pretty quiet unless you’re giving it some, definitely not loud imo

I'm just letting off the throttle, so it's popping on the overrun.

Did you have pops and bangs prior to the res delete? Or did you tune it?
I can understand a bit of a pop & burble with a fully closed throttle down from high rpm- but that’s more a trailing throttle. Sounds way too synthetic imo 😬🙄
Chris give us more info please, is this just a secondary cat delete or what ?

Aye this is Dynamic, Comfort mode is basically stock sounding to me.

apocaalypso leaves it in neutral and rev it a little which makes it bang
In this video i was just letting off the throttle, however i've been putting it in Neutral lately and it works better! Thanks for the tip, new to S-Tronic, didn't know you could coast on the boxes

does this void warranty? I take delivery next month and its something I've been looking at doing straight away!
It's what i've done, with regards to warranty, if something goes wrong (Majorly with the engine side of things) and they notice you've altered the car (Resonator), they may try and put the blame on that however they would have to prove that the mod is what had caused it and a resonator delete isn't going to affect much with the car so you should be good!
Chris Simm done it to mine and they told me that if somthing with the exhaust went wrong then it's my fault. Basically the whole car is in warranty but the exhaust isn't! But facing it.. not much will go wrong with an exhaust lol

i have 2015 s3 i want the crackle sound at low rpms. i have an awe catback exhaust and it doesnt make that sound :(
Remap mate, it's really the only way if the exhaust doesn't get them

The 2014 models didnt have the pops and crackles engineered into the car, it was the facelift variations that does

It amazes me how the euro cars have so much more overrun burbles tuned into them. Sounds nothing like the American cars...

123456 774 nice one. I've currently got an abarth and I got ripped off. Being young I just bought that first car I saw in the showroom, didn't haggle or didn't look else where. Lesson learnt. Been looking at lease deals on an s3 to see if they were anywhere near what the golf r's were the other year, thyre not. Cheapest I've found for two years is 3k deposit, 489 a month for a bog standard spec.
We've all been there, i got ripped off on a 2009 VW Polo which was only a 1.2l. My Golf R was a lease deal and a crazy deal at that but i'm PCP'ing the Audi S3 and got a really good deal tbh, under £380 a month with the black pack, advanced tech pack, parking sensors etc.

Picked up my 2017 Audi S3 sedan here in the U.S. The car came with a resonator delete from the dealership but I promise my car doesn't sound like this. It makes the DSG farts but it's definitely missing the poppops. Does anyone know why?

Thats literally how the car pops from the factory, just louder. And they give the S3 much more character than the pre-facelift version
