I bought their Album as soon as it was released in 84. I remember listening to this track in my car on an Alpine head unit using a TDK Metal cassette with 4 6x9 full range speakers on the rear parcel shelf and couple of 6" speakers in the front doors with two Alpine amps under the front seat. This track just punched itself straight into your subconscious.... I still listen to your tracks in my car to this very day. Love dancing until midnight....That's got some outstanding lyrics and is truly emotive! Thanks for the great memories Brian and band...I miss those days like many of us probably do who were there to enjoy them. Yes the 80's was a bloody great time to be alive! and the music from this period is still unforgettable....

I was a teenager in the 80s! I loved Listening when it came out! And in 1983, the best band of the 80s Duran Duran toured Australia and I was there and a few rows behind me Brian Canham was there watching DD, and I asked for his autograph! He kindly gave it to me. He was very cute too! (gosh weren't we all in the early 80s) I kept it for ages but my Mum who was constantly cleaning and threw it away. :( Thanks for this video! Wonderful to take a walk down memory lane!

Brian's got a great voice. He's also an amazing guitarist. He inspired me to pick up the electric guitar after being an acoustic player for most of my life. I saw a great gig at the Gateway hotel in Geelong...and was totally inspired by his playing. Thanks Brian!

It's just not the same anymore, only the lead singer is the only original left, but good to see Brian is still here, can't imagine the band existing at all without him.

Brian Canham's breaking away from the two handheld keyboards took me straight back to the 1980s. A borderline spiritual experience. Sheesh. The backstory is for how the band broke through to gain national recognition. I would love to hear the backstory to 'Listening', whatever it may be.

GLAD TO KNOW BRIAN STILL HAS HIS VOCALS. FUNNY & INTERESTING BACKGROUND STORY . YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY 😉 WILL ALWAYS BE A PSEUDO ECHO FAN. GONE ARE THE DAYS OF ' ROCKING THE RAILS ' 😣....... THIS WAS WHEN YOU COULD SEE THEM FOR FREE. THE TRAIN SHOWED UP AT THE PLATFORM AND THE BAND PLAYED WHILE 1,000 PEOPLE VYIED FOR A POSITION. NO HEARING PROTECTION BACK THEN.....MY EARS WERE RINGING FOR DAYS AFTERWARDS 😂 😉

"we were poof rock". Brian - a bloke who does not give a FF about the new sick, alphabet, warped society we live in today. When I was a young teen and have felt the same ever since - I have never given a FF about what individuals do in the privacy of their own homes. "Poof rock" in the year 2021 is imo Brian simply stating what is a fact, yet his decision to cover an oldie "Funky Town" was so forward thinking, Brian/PE remain one of our greatest apprenticed in Melbourne's pub rock scene iconic bands. An amazingly gifted guitarist [why Brian's playing a shitty 'Ibanez' instead of his epic HSS Strat I've no idea.

Makes me laugh how much he changes his appearance, from hairsprayed cropped hair from 80s, then shorted in the later 80s, then beeched in the 90s., then shaved with a beard, then no beard but a shaved head.
