This to me is Trivium at its absolute best. Reminds me of when they Released Shogun and the next song they put out was Shattering the Skies Above. It was at the time a step we thought trivium would take in adding blast beats and speed to a style which at the time was perfect. In Waves was great but then they took what seemed to be a creative step back with Vengance and Silence. This song was where I pictured trivium being 6-8 years ago. Way glad they finally made it because this song literally brings elements from Melo Death, Groove Metal, Thrash, even some Black Metal. The Clean Vox over Blast reminds me of this song by Opeth called The Lotus Eater. Very Unique way to incorporate speed with melody. Btw if you get a chance, you should react to The Silent Life by Rivers of Nihil.
I have to admit i've never really been a big Trivium fan, but this song totally changed my mind. Ill definitely be a fan if they continue in this direction. Totally agree with some of your comparisons. I love that Rivers of Nihil tune, I should do some reacts on some older songs that were killer and not just the new ones. Thanks for checking it out!
Finally! Someone acknowledged the Dimebag homage in that groove part. As I watched other reaction videos, I was thinking "how is nobody getting this?" Also, I am really glad to have found your channel. I love the way you break elements of the composition down and flashback to those elements as you explain them. Amazing stuff. Keep it up!
I watched a few reaction videos and thought the same thing - maybe i'm old and Pantera isn't relevant anymore? Haha. Thanks for the kind words and welcome to the channel!
I don't know anything how a song is put together but after your explanation, I've learned a little. Also thank you for going back to parts when you were talking over it explaining details. Allows me to hear what you're referring to.
@@forgemastermetal man it was. We collapsed the booth. One of those huge fold up shades lol. The slayer circle pit was the best I've been in though in 05. That was bloody cause it was on a hill lol. U had to slow and make a turn before hitting these massive bar barricades ppl was getting plastered 😂
Awesome analysis.... no really, that intro is nerdly awesome. I really can't put my finger on it, but the first 5 seconds or so of this video reminds me from something early 00s (Had a Damageplan vibe for a second). Trivium, is fantastic and Heafy is such a monster musically and on the Twitch side. This is a great tune, I had no idea Ihsahn had summoned his unholy sprinkles on this masterpiece. It's the clean vox that just kill it here.
I can’t believe how good this tune is. So much attention to detail it’s honestly staggering. Looooove that dichotomy of clean and harsh vocals on this tune. So good.
I had just listened to Horrorbabble's reading of Chambers' whole book less than a month before this song drops. I geeked out just like you did. I'm still disassembling the movie here.
This is the Best song for me for the year so far. I'm biased because I love Trivium and that Chorus hypes me up soo much...I'm crushing it in the gym :D

I absolutely LOVE that chorus man. Instant goosebumps when Alex goes all out with the blasting alongside Matt's cleans and melodic riffing
Best part of the song!
This is a serious professional reaction. WOW. That's how all should be.
Thanks Marco! They’re a lot of fun!

I’m glad you learned something! That’s what I’m striving for! A way for people to appreciate the artists work just a little bit more :)
