It hurts seeing my favorite legendary down in usage like that, but it really is facing competition from popular water types like Pelipper, Urshifu water, Ogerpon Water, Walking Wake and Iron Bundle. Maybe if double restrictions is available, then maybe it does get better. Doesn't help either that the current best restriction pokemons, Calyrex Ice and Shadow, can get away with doing something similar with their own signature spread move but better given the 100% accuracy. Makes me wish that the Primal form came back to maybe shorten the gap.
I think Groudon will be insane in doubles restricted, because you have clear amulet swords dance, and an other restricted, like lunala, who supports your groudon. I mean, in 2022, white herb sd Groudon top cut worlds. And clear Amulet is just 10 times better. Groudon is not washed, guys.
@KneeckohGaming it is given you know how to use it, it takes a lot of skill to use but when done well it really is Pokémon like pelipper has risen because it walls groudon and koraidon , and deals with top tier pokemon spread moves with wide guard , you can keep wild charge on koraidon to deal SE damage
i'll post this here again for anyone that didn't see it on the groudon video: koraidon matches up better against kyogre, urshifu-R and ogerpon-W; because it resists water, while groudon is weak to it. it matches up better into rillaboom and ogerpon-H than groudon because of the grass (and fire) resist, and you can easily cyber-bully any rillaboom switch-in that comes your way with a flare blitz. it matches up better into incineroar because you can reliably one-shot the incineroar even AFTER the intimidate with collision course (meaning it really doesn't need to run clear amulet), a trait groudon can't always manage to pull off with shitty ole' precipice miss. koraidon resists both of chi-yu's STAB attacks. you'll OHKO most urshifu darks you see with collision course. if you slap a choice scarf on koraidon and fully invest in speed, you will 99% of the time be out-speeding and OHKO-ing all flutter manes; assuming those flutter manes aren't also specifically running max speed with a speed boosting nature, and receiving a boost to it's speed from protosynthesis. you'll also outspeed miraidon if you run a choice scarf and OHKO it with dragon claw. collision curse hits terapagos and both ursaluna forms for bigger damage than groudon. koraidon is just faster, more reliable and does more damage than groudon (unless groudon gets a swords dance off). it gets more immediate value and doesn't need as much support as groudon does to get going. koraidon is a much better hyper-offense pick. it's essentially just a pokemon with three types at this point (Fighting/Dragon/Fire), and I'm a firm believer in choice scarf koraidon 💪🏻. pair koraidon with a bulky choice specs flutter mane that gets a speed boost from the sun, and run energy ball to deal with kyogre and groudon and mystical fire for the boosted fire damage in the sun, and you'll be eating good for days
I feel that Koridon kinda just replaced Groudon and it did it in a way that made it more popular. It would be better paired in double restricted with something like Calorex shadow as support for it, it could be a dominant sweeper

IMHO - Archaludon is beast. 🔹Kyogre will be Strong. 🔹Sun Teams will still be prevalent with both Torkoal & Koraidon relevant. Trick Room is super interesting. We saw a rise of Trick Room in Reg F… Caly-Ice is something to keep an eye on. I really want to see how Miraidon evolves. This is the first format that Quark Drive is relevant, so we can see some really interesting future paradox mons pop up. Unlike Sun it’s never had an opportunity to do well. It’s a fun format - there’s a lot of powerhouse mons in the format.
Eruption groudon mainly works for primal groudon, because its Spatk stat jumps from 100 to 150. Torkoal is just the better pick for that. I ran the calcs and torkoal always does more damage with the same evs plus nature
@Oreca2005 can just tera fire, I prefer using torkoal with scarfed H typlosion for helping hand, since that makes fakeout useless Mind you I love cheese xD also I was running groundon as a max hp assault vest and max sp attack with minimum speed possible an it runs both physical and special attacks, with H Lilli you can out speed most with after you but in trick room you are surprisingly fast
