I love taking cars out of their perceived element and pushing the limits of their capabilities! What do you guys think, would you get an ID.3 if it was available in the US? I hope we get the spicy versions when they launch! 🚙💨
I love small cars built for fun in the twisties (from the Dragon to the TX Hill Country to the Ozarks to the NM/CO Rockies). An ID.3 hot hatch? I would buy that sight unseen.
I’ve seen many UA-camrs do track videos and I have come to skip them when I see them pop up. I used to think it was just because I wasn’t into track racing and that’s partially true but now I know it’s because the others are boring to watch. These Nuremberg videos from Kyle have been a pleasure to watch. He talks the entire time and speaks clearly and well. He explains everything that is going on and I love that part. Every little mention of all the cool cars, what’s happening with the car and details about the track. Above all the enthusiasm is great. I love information so the endless stream of that in these videos is fantastic. Can’t wait to see more.
I actually think he talks too much in every video. Hardly any natural pauses even when talking to a camera. Then there are the need for a haircut all the time a glasses that need adjustment. One of the only pauses was literally to push his glasses up early in the video. He knows a ton about EVs. Nothing wrong with less talking.

Most "regular cars" will overheat breaks on Nordschleife. That's especially true for heavy EVs. In ID.3 drum brakes are on the rear so even though they're more prone to fading they don't contribute that much. Front breaks probably gave up first.

the GTX is not available yet. they start production at the end of the year and start selling it beginning of 2022. i am not sure if they have an interest to sell it in the US. doing so would mean less profit and the production capacity is limited. in chattanooga they will start to produce the ID4. then, they don't need to ship the ID4 anymore and they can use this capacity for the european market. they have a limited capacity of a bit more than 300.000 EVs per year in Zwickau and they want to sell most of it within the EU to lower fleet emissions to not get a penalty at the end of the year. also in the production in the US, I guess, they probably want to produce the ID.5 next which is practically an ID4 with a more sexy coupé-like roof line.
