- Testing the audio and visuals on a new EST3X system. Wasn't able to film much of this inspection due to privacy reasons however I wanted to get a new video out. As some of you have pointed out to me, it's been a while... Enjoy!

That's definitely an interesting test sequence. Funny that each cycle starts with an old Windows chime sound.

That can only be done on a voice system there's no way to do that with horn strobes. If your school or work has say Simplex TrueAlert horn strobes ain't gonna happen
Music is clever, especially for testing fire alarms as it's not annoying (at least not as annoying as a regular alarm)

My school, which was relocated to the current location last year, has an EST system. It has LED Genesis horn/strobes!

and my old school had an EST3, Not a 3x, a 3. But it was the fast temporal tone and female message. It was in massachusats so it was common for that
Do you just service Simplex systems? Just curious. At my job we have a Gamewell S3 panel with outdated gentex 280-0030 horn strobe.
Anything coming up with 4051s soon? XD (Wishful thinking I know and I will be glad with any system that you do in the future.)
Anyone by any chance know the guitar theme heard at the end of every test message?
Fun Facts: you can find the chime tones heard in this video on Edwards' website, and of course the sound heard in between the chimes and music is the old Windows chime sound.

After the alarms play the short elevator music, they play something that sounds like the Windows 3.1 Shutdown Sound
If you pause at point 0:05, You can see that the system has a button for a Severe Weather Alert Message. However, U would think the speakers would be labeled " ALERT " in this case rather than FIRE, Although I've seen This kind of setup before(With 4901 Speakers That had the Label Removed Usually and it just had the usual Simplex Modern Logo. No Wording or nothing. The Speakers looked like the 4903's. It was a 36 floor building here in my city that had the Older Simplex Alarms. Speakers that did MNS, But oddly was still Labeled with the word "Fire". On It

If I update my fire alarm panel this is the one i will get it's a nice panel
Once they get around to expanding and renovating my high school, they will probably go with systems like this to replace their ancient Simplex equipment from 1969-1970 (though the main building has an FCI FC-72 panel controlling its' system, with variable results.) Either that, or Notifier NFS2-3030 systems.

The chime tone is the almost the same as the one in my hospital video, except hi-lo instead of hi-lo-hi.

actually, that is not an eletronic doorbell... that is the EST3 Ting/Tong chime.

If you mean the knob on the panel at the beginning of the video I don't think so it's probably a selector or cursor control I've seen devices that use that setup. Not fire alarm panels mind you, but devices nonetheless
Gary Beltz got you, I do own a Est Genesis speaker strobe and I do notice the selectable volume knob, I just thought that it could be controlled by the panel because, obviously it's EST. Never seen those panels in the field before though, so I don't know much about them.

Looked like the speaker/strobes were playing music instead of making any noises.
They did a little of both the sequence starts with the the old Windows chime then it did 3 tones followed by the "This is only a test" message then that music

It's just a test message. It would play different tones and messages when the system goes into an alarm condition.

Most of you think that the sound is rather annoying, well it's not there to have you hang around so you can enjoy the soothing sound.. it is suppose to alert you and get you out... Lol can't fix stupid though so...
