Greetings from Sydney, Australia. The good news is this video is very inspiring and making me want to push some paint around. The bad news is it's midnight atm so I have to wait seven hours.
@@chamberlainpaintings Hey Mike! A Friend of B.M.😃. Can I say your cinematography skills are immaculate and with Emma’s editing skills what a dynamic duo 🙌! I find your videos very relaxing and enjoyable. Very reminiscent of my art classes from waaay back in College.. ahh those ancient years in my 20s 😆. Do you have a set of brushes you are particularly a fan of? Brand? - Nia G. from Houston
Thank you for touching on adjusting values and saturation from moving on location to indoors! Love the complimentary colors of the yellow rocks and blue water. :)
Love the guiding commentary, I learn something from each of your videos. I’m also surprised how alike your coastline is to sections of my local coast on Anglesey, North Wales.
awesome work, really enjoyed it. Moss Beach series never get boring bc the location is pretty and fun to see you draw and comment on your work at the same time. Thanks
Greetings again from Canada :) thanks for another great painting. Questions for the Q&A: 1) is there a theme for your upcoming show? 2) how do you plan for retirement as an artist? 3) do you ever paint portraits or people? 4) do you always tone with Burnt Sienna? And if so why this color? Thanks in advance! Have a great week :)
I watch all your videos and admire your work. Your compositions and brush strokes are quite good and I've learned a lot from you. You work very hard and best wishes for your show. Thank you very much.
Really a superb painting. Love the composition. I took a look at the show online, which is also looking great! For a Q&A, I wondered whether you might be able to talk about your approach to achieving an authentic sense of light, which indeed seems to be a characteristic of the very best landscape paintings.

Great videos... Coming up that way next week, would love to know some great places to go Plein air paint if you wouldn't mind sharing, I want to do seascapes with rocks and cliffs. I think where you are painting in this video is amazing! Thank you in advance and thanks for sharing the videos.I will stop by the gallery to see your show.
Moss Beach is really beautiful! Like Kate Moss ... just kidding ... lol ... Btw. Great painting, sir! You have your own unique painting technique or style. Like great artists. When I see your painting, I can tell right away that this was painted by you, which is great. All the best! Greetings from the EU!
I love your work you inspire me so much! I am very new at painting I started after a car accident and spending almost a year in a wheel chair it was so therapeutic and that is when I found your channel. Your videos got me through some tough days and now I just love painting but still trying to find my way.. I do have a question please. What type, brand, model etc is the easel you are using in this video? Also if I wanted to buy a full size french easel what would be a good quality one that would last which one do you use inside in your kitchen? Thank you for taking the time to make so many amazing videos have a great week.
The easel is from takeiteasel.com I made the folding palette box but you can purchase similar at artboxandpanel.com. As for French easels, I haven’t used one in years so I can’t recommend a brand. I’d probably buy a used Julian brand on Craigslist. Hope that helps!
Good job Michael. What ratio of liquin to paint do you use to get that transparency? Do you still use a small amount of liquin at the very end with thicker paint just so the painting dries quicker than just straight paint? Cheers.
Thanks Jim. I'm not sure the exact ratio. I just keep mixing in the Liquin until it feels right. Yes, I use Liquin all the way through the process, but less when I want to apply thicker strokes.

I was curious about what music you've been listening to, & any favourite bands/music genres! hope all is good :))
I recently made a few oldies playlist. Mid seventies, and early eighties. I was listening to a lot of bedroom pop.

Who is that green guy in the gallery. Now he can paint. Get him on your channel. His work looks traced though it's so good
And then the fog rolled in ... So I guess you had to go with intuition and memory of what values were there to finish painting ...? Not an easy task
Yes! It happens fairly frequently.
