The green circles in the desert are my husband's family farm. He and I built most of the roads out there (well hauled the gravel and ran the road grader over them for a year). As well as ripped, planted, chopped, swathed, baled and loaded the alfalfa in those fields. Some are sod fields that his uncle owns and which we have also spent a lot of time working.
Simple answer for the green circles in the ground. Center-Pivot Irrigation System! Im a Farmboy! Despite center pivot irrigation isn’t used that much here in Central California, it’s used in much drier more desert environments, and uneven hilly farm land.
I found a bird on Father's day in 2021. It was a helpless baby bird that was laying on the ground crying for help. My mother had seen it and told me. She didn't have enough time to climb up the tree to put it back. I decided to raise it in an abandoned nest with wool insulating the bird. I named it Robinson. Robinson woke me up in the middle of the night for food for about three days. After that, Robinson slept through the night just fine. I would feed Robinson mealy worms and wet dog food. Eventually, Robinson started to crawl around the cage, not needing the nest anymore. We started practicing flying with Robinson. At first, Robinson could only jump. Robinson got better and better at using its wings, and eventually could fly. Robinson was now flying away and back home all the time, leading to sleeping outside at night. By then, Robinson was amazing at flying. Took a while, but Robinson stated getting his own food. Robinson then started to eat non-moving foods on its own, and started drinking its own water. Next thing, Robinson was gone. Flew away into the distance. Robinson was mystery bird, mystery gender.

In the James Heriott books based on his vet practise in England shortly after WWll, he had a dog patient that had a very severe front leg injury. He removed the border collies' leg. A few years later, the dog injured the hind leg on the same side of its body so severely that, it too, would have to be removed if the dog were to survive. The farmer asked if the dog would ever be able to walk. The vet told the farmer that he had known of several dogs that had opposite side legs removed and did just fine. But, having never seen a dog with both legs of the same side removed, he could is not say whether the collie would ever be able to stand, or walk again. The farmer, though being poor, loved the dog so much that he wanted to give it a chance that he couldn't really afford. The vet removed the 2nd leg. It took the dog a couple of days to get the hang of standing, then walking. But, after several weeks, was once again racing the vet's car as he left the farmer's land. And, out of respect for the dog, he always let it win. Now, that's a real 2 legged dog story. Read his books. They are heat warming, hilarious and clean. I wish that he had lived & written forever 💖
