    Thank you for the long-form conversation post. I know it's not socimedia friendly, but it really goes a long way toward education your viewership, like me. PLUS it's great to see the talent of you interviewers in full profile!

    After reading Stress Test and watching countless interviews, I know this much; I'd hire Tim Geithner in a heartbeat!

    From the comments it looks like a lot of you didn't even understand what Giethner's job was.

    This interview in comparison with the one on the daily show was miles and miles better. I really appreciate the high level of journalism here to get facts rather than to just promote its initial opinions.

    Wow even after this extensive interview people don't realize how the government was essential in preventing another great depression.

      Government was not essential, the little guy was essential, the tax paying hard working everyday person.

    I don't know why, but I like the way Tim speaks. Just something about the tempo and where he knows to pause before continuing.

    Geithner is a very modest person and did a great job during the crisis. He did all he can do to save us economy. Good luck to him I. The future.

    Great interview! I hope that you keep doing this kind of stuff regarding of the amount of views you get. People nowadays want 5 minute-long videos to get their news or to be informed...

    Wow. Excellent interview. Ezra Klein did an incredible job. He asked every question I had and Mr. Geithner’s responses were quite telling.

      What happened is complicated.... very complicated... you can't do it in 3 minutes. The EU's sentiment continues to grow in regretting not following Obama's path..thanks to the Brits, they made a huge mistake. But it has taken them 8 years to understand it. Americans will eventually understand too.

    Agree with others. I'm not a big fan of Ezra Klein (or his socks), but I see he's maturing faster than Jon Stewart is :) He asked sincere questions and respected that Geithner knows things that he doesn't. Good conversation that got into some areas other interviews didn't.

    I gotta say Tim G was one of many individuals responsible for the financial crisis, but god damn does he instill confidence and a sense of solidarity in his speech and body language.

    • @doc7000
      @doc7000 8 років тому +1

      +Jacob S-H You have to be careful, now days they get coached about body languages and tone of voice. Not to mention that in his position it is something that you probably learn early on. In other words if you trust their body language and tone then you might be taken for a ride. It reminds me of Alan Greenspan who stated in his testimony that his big flaw came down to him not knowing that investment bankers were greedy.......

    I read his book. In the microcosm of 08 he was right, in the long run he was wrong, because he enabled a huge bubble that we are in now. If you try to manipulate the debt cycle you cause long term problems.

    We basically encouraged the financial institutes' reckless behaviors by offering artificially-created, cheap, unconditional liquidity so that all will happen again in the near future.

    Printing money to prop up housing market? What is its negative impact on future generations? They would not be able to buy their own homes! Not to mention it is a huge distortion of risk and return balance! It encourages recklessness, the same thing will happen again! The secretary of treasure is nearersignted!

    These chairs are hilariously small and awkward. I just started watching from the first Vox video and I’m going to binge all 1,100 over the next 6 months… sincerely hope they upgrade to some size-appropriate leather loungers because it’s distracting to watch the interviewee try and look comfortable here. 😂
