Thank you!! It's a great case. I love the small profile, and the best part is the amazing handle that's part of the lid (not shown). It's made by Elite Modular and I got it from Control: www.ctrl-mod.com/collections/cases/products/208-portable
Absolutely stunning as always..... Does the Qu nexus go through the computer before going into Yarns - or can Yarns read midi directly from it? difficult to tell from the video.
+Tom Walker Hey Tom, thanks. The QuNexus uses a KMI breakout device that takes the USB from the QuNexus and gives you MIDI DIN I/O, plus power. It's a little clunky using it as it requires its own power supply and all the cables are a mess, but it gets the job done. I might have the guts put behind a 6hp Eurorack panel if I can sort out the power. Would clean it up a lot to be part of my case. But yeah, you can go directly into Yarns from the device if using Yarns' internal clock. When running patches with the computer (Yarns EXT MIDI sync) I use my audio interface's MIDI I/O to allow for sync plus QuNexus. That is, QuNexus goes into the interface (routed through an Ableton MIDI channel to the MIDI out) then into Yarns. That way Yarns receives MIDI clock from Ableton, plus the QuNexus MIDI note information. That also allows me to record the MIDI data on that track. I rarely do anything with that data, but it's nice to have.
was riding my bike to this today in the forest.. how do you like the tangle quartet ? clean ? have a doepfer quad expo vca but it sometimes distorts (not in a good way) even when calibrating the pots on the pcb
Forest on bike - that's great! Thank you. Tangle is good. The knobs are too close to the CV jacks in my opinion, but it feels good and clean to me and I haven't had many issues with unwanted distortion. Sometimes Rings is so hot that I get distortion, but I don't think it's Tangle that gives it. It's likely later down the chain, but I'd have to test a bit more to be sure.
Ha. Thank you for the flattery. I'm slowly working toward an album. For now, there's just the playlists on here, Vimeo and Soundcloud (/fourhexagons). But I do I have an email list to update peeps when that actually happens: eepurl.com/bKNM0X
