Things to Do in North West Maui | Let Us Show You Napili & Kapalua

- We just had the best staycation weekend in North West Maui. Let us show you all the things to do on this quiet part of Maui - the northwest Maui coast.
Celebrities aren’t the only ones who can enjoy this part of Maui. Escape the crowds around Ka’anapali and Wailea by staying and playing on this part of the island.
Erica, Henry, and I will show you all there is to do around this rugged and tropical side of Maui. From SUP in Napili Bay to snorkeling the Honolua Bay Marine Reserve to the infamous Nakalele Blowhole. Then cap off a day of excitement with live music and a sunset view at Merriman’s Oceanfront Grill.
I feel more relaxed just writing about our trip. We will be back, we always go back to Napili.
We had the pleasure of staying in a vacation rental from Aloha Stays. Check out the link below for their Napili Bay Villa, or one of their other properties. Luckily, Hawaii is opening soon so you can enjoy their condos.

Have a wonderful time! Napili is a special place. The Napili farmers market is Saturday and Wednesday mornings. Enjoy the fruit!!

Same here family!! Let us know how it goes!! Blessings and Namaste
North West Maui is our favorite place to be, miss it so much, thanks so much for this video.❤️
Slaughterhouse beach and the walk through the woods at Honolua Bay ...❤️
@@meganngeorge I know! The jungle walk to Honolua Bay is as good as the snorkeling. It is the Hana side jungle without the traffic. Thanks for watching!
@@meganngeorge just wondering, any idea why it's named "slaughterhouse"? Concerned vegetarian here.. Lol
Me and my wife Honeymoon’d in Napili at the Mauian and it was immediately one of our favorite places. So much so that 2 years later we took our daughters and stayed at the Napili Ridge for a week. West Maui is just incredible. That was in 2015 and 2017 and we are planning another trip back to West Maui in 2023 but this time plan on staying in Kahana. We looked at other Islands and places to stay but nothing seems to quite compare to what you get on Maui(especially the west side) Thanks for this video, it took me back to a very special place where I have some of my fondest memories with my wife and kiddos.
Kahana has a lot of vacation rentals to choose from. Have a wonderful trip back to West Maui. I agree, it is a nice place to visit on the islands.
Is Napili bay public beach, and awesome video
Aloha Eddie, all beaches in Hawaii are public. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Just an hour ago I was looking at a Vatican Library video and fell asleep. The hammock and newspapers was why I visited Maui . . . being able to fall asleep while looking at newspapers and not have to wake-up because of feeling cold.
This video was the first Id ever heard of spam musabi and I had to get it on day 1 in Maui. Found some at Sugar Beach Bake Shop in Kihei. Needless to say, Im hooked
I'm glad you tried it! Our son is hooked also. His special treat when we go grocery shopping. Foodland has good spam musabi. Chicken musabi isn't as good but worth a try.
SAME. I'm coming in June and I'm dying to try!
Aloha! We are staying at Napili Bay Condos in November and are excited. Thank you for the video. What I picked up is that is a lot of places to go and things to do on that side of Maui. Have not tried Merriman's yet, but looks like a great place for the sunset, but is the food good? Mahalo!
the food is great. They focus on locally sourced food
Man, the way you pronounced "MUsuBi" (not muSOObi!) 👌👌💯 I love your videos!
Hello again, loving all the videos. I’m not a very strong/confident swimmer and wanted to ask are there any areas in Maui to snorkel in shallow waters 4-5 ft max? I remember going to Hanauma Bay in Oahu and we found some shallow areas there to snorkel. Thanks 👍🏾
Baby Beach in Lahaina is shallow and well protected. Still, wear a floatation device and bring a buddy!
WONDERFUL!! Whats the water temp in May?
It’s probably around 76 or 77
Too bad you didn't have Dollies in Kahana featured but awesome vid of the places you included.
I plan to take a trip with my family to Hawaii once this’d covid stuff is done. We are from Canada and the hardest thing for me is to figure out what to pack for 2 weeks with 2 teenagers and 2 adults lol
Yeah, best of luck. Tank tops and reef safe sunscreen is how I live!
Water Works Sports located at Napili Shores is my favorite place to rent equipment. Family owned and very very nice people.
thanks for sharing a local company!
Is the Gazebo at Napili Shores open yet? Maybe in October? Mmm, macadamia nut pancakes! Thanks
The Gazebo opened briefly for locals but closed again. I assume they will open in October. You bet we will be there when it opens! Agreed, mac nut pancakes are worth the wait. 808 Grindz and Kihei Cafe have stayed open the whole time!
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide oh I just asked this question. I guess this is the answer :)
Is Gazebo open now? (I live on the South Side so I'm also asking West side friends about Westside updates :) )
Hi family from the mainland!! Was just wondering would you be familiar at all with any work programs in exchange for lodging? If so do you know if it's family friendly?
Your kid is too cute
Getting married in Lahaina in August and I couldn’t be more excited! Does anyone know if the waters have things we should avoid?
Have a wonderful wedding! The risk of animals hurting you are low. The shorebreak, waves, and current are a bigger risk. Sign up for The Snorkel Report for conditions.
Y'all have tides in the Pacific?
1:30 dragon fruit good price!
There is a Great live web cam at Napili sunset I have seen Whales on this web cam You can control the view!
Thanks for sharing!
Do you ever go snorkeling with your LO or go swimming with him in the ocean?
yes, now that he is older. We show him snorkeling in our Maui Custom Charters video. We keep a floatie on him and go out as a group in excellent conditions. It is still nerve wracking at times.
You can't see a green flash if there are any clouds on the horizon. I've only seen it twice.
That is two more times than me so consider yourself lucky. Thanks for the tip. I started reading up on the science behind it more after talking to Henry. Pretty cool phenomenon.
yes, and I have seen it twice too :)
Lots of car break ins if you leave your car above Honolua Bay, Beware! We stay 2 months a year since 2004. We no longer park here!
Yes, we don’t recommend going past the Nakalele Blowhole.
Coming again to Maui next year if this pandemic crap gets under control.
Is parking easy to find in these spots?
the public parking fills up early but there are other options like street and paid parking.
How about a video on economical places for a family to stay.
Aloha! It is on our list for when more hotels and vacation rentals are open. For Maui, Kihei and Ka'anapali have the most options for economical hotels and vacation rentals to stay.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide thats gr8 to hear. would like to visit in Jan 2021, and leaning towards big island/kauai bec of airbnb cost - maui is near double for a 1 week rental.
@@amayer349 Maui is the most expensive island for accommodations. We are also planning some island-hopping!
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide yep thats what i am finding. from my reasearch i just dont see enough benefit to justify the extra $1k over the big island.
When is mango season?
May to October is the season but some trees produce fruit earlier in the spring.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide where can u get fresh fruit from.trees? I'm in Maui now and looking for fresh food primary
I guess those who are afraid of the road have lived in the city and driven on the interstate and toll roads all their lives. Roads are safe, sure there are a few curves, one lane spots with pullouts but a little courtesy, safe speed and awareness and there is no problem. Just different driving environment, but the roads are safe.
Thanks for the comment. The Kahekili Highway isn't just about safety, the residents on that road don't appreciate sightseers. Local residents don't drive it out of respect.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide we stay out of their way, buy the banana bread and shop at Karen Lei’s gallery. All favorite stops
Thank you for not recommending driving the Kahekili Hwy. It's a death trap even for experienced drivers. Do not do it!
Yes, we recommend people stay away. Not worth the dangerous road and residents don’t appreciate the traffic.
