Great review great product I bought 2 of these coffee makers I think at Walmart. I am still using the first one second one still in the box. I have used this maker now for 4 years made over 1800 cups and still going. You need to run pure white vinegar through the coffee maker every 3 or 4 months to keep it clean and fast flowing otherwise the flow is slower or clogged.
I have just learned about these today as I wanted a single type coffee Maker for my night shift work I'm new to night shifts I'm used to working days but this will give me the couple of cups that I need to keep me awake during those late night shifts I plan to put it in my bag with my vitals equipment.
I’m a truck driver and I’m sick of instant coffee. I’m ordering one of those for myself. Thank you for the video.
Love your energy man, thanks for this video
Just bought one at Walmart for my hunny. It's great for an occasional cup and it fits travel mugs!!! Thanks for the chuckles along with the review!
Works pretty dam good.Cord is a little short, makes coffee pretty fast .
Wish you would’ve taken temp after brewed, but looks like a good option. I use Keurig right now.
Great review. Let me piggy-back on your video, if you don't mind. I've bought 4 of the B&D coffee makers for the house, my office and my college kids. All 4 brewers have stood the test of time and made thousands of cups of good coffee. I measured the water temperature and it started around 190F (88C) and rose to 198F (92C), which is acceptable, IMO. Now, to it's weaknesses. Pouring water into it is a pain due to the tiny space you have to aim for. It's best to use one hand to pour and one to steady the cup at the brim. Next, the bottom of the outlet funnel is flat so coffee drips for a very long time after it is done brewing. I empty the basket and funnel before removing the cup of coffee to keep the drips from making a mess. If you use a standard coffee cup instead of the tall tumbler it comes with, the coffee will splash up out of the cup and out on the counter. To solve this, I use a plastic cup that I use as a platform for a standard cup to sit on so the coffee doesn't have to drip so far.
If you don't like the coffee fines that get through the mesh filter, a Melitta #1 paper filter fits well enough in the basket resulting in a smoother cup. Recently, I started using a flat Aeropress filter in the bottom of the basket. The filter can be rinsed and reused many times. The filter in the bottom slows the brewing process making for a better cup of coffee. Here's another hack to get a richer, more balanced cup: Pull the plug 45 seconds into the brew, wait another 45 seconds to let the coffee "bloom" and then plug it back in to let it finish.
If you don't descale the brewer periodically, the water won't flow well and the thermal switch may start tripping before it's done brewing. I use a 1:1 mix of distilled vinegar and water to descale. I pull the plug half way through the brew with the descaling solution and leave it unplugged a few minutes to let the scale break down. I've read that there are better solutions to descale with, but the distilled vinegar has always worked for me and my brewers have lasted for years.
It's funny to me that I use this cheap brewer when I have plenty of other coffee kit: Melitta, V60, Aeropress, French press, coffee socks, Keurig, Hamilton Flex Brew and a couple of others. The Black and Decker is still my go-to coffer maker.
Its 16 oz. Fits 4 tbsp coffee. No paper filter needed. Rinse out the filter. Makes great hot coffee fast.
Good video thank you so much, will be good for icecoffee i think also
Hi Peter, first time watching, and you are more interesting than the coffee pot, so I am watching through. For coffee filters just that size, you could probably use cup cake liner papers.
I've had one for 2 years always worked fine
Can I choose the amount of coffee I can make?
@@yaliniraj3237Yes, up to 16 oz.
have you tried using a finer ground ?
Me, I don't think that I've ever brewed a pot of coffee that went to waste...☕😬☕😬☕
Do you know what type of coffee pods it holds?
Using mine for the first time while watching this video.
Mine stopped working after a year and a half... 😢
Helped ❤
Gracias
Let mi try it like you and see whether l have got you pliz sir.
Will the mug drip if I turn it upside down? How easy is for the lid to come off?
the mug will drip. It does not have a shut-0ff valve.
the coffee maker will malfunction after 6 to 7 months. It will shut off prematurely, halfway through the brewing process.
The tube is probably clogged that goes from the reservoir to the element. Think you can tell if when it shuts off there's still some water in the tank.
you are right, that was the problem. I used a good de=scaler and it now works perfectly. Thanks @@quantanglement
Keurig is faster …but thank you for this . Only thing is why not show with soft pods . My instructions show it can be used with a soft pod . Need to know how . I’ve tried .
Hey, have you figured it out by any chance. Mine should arrive tomorrow
Got one for $20...worth it
Can this use Keurig cups?
This unit isn’t made for K Cup use.
I like the guy in the video more than I like the coffee maker 😂
