- “Paritta” is Pali word meaning “protection” or “safeguard”.
Ven. Bhante Indarathana hails from Sri Lanka and is currently Resident Monk at Subang Jaya Buddhist Association Malaysia, under the guidance of Most Ven. Chief Reverend Saranankara Maha Thera. Bhante Indarathana was first ordained as a Buddhist Monk at a tender age of 11 and has a Law Degree from the University of Colombo, a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology and currently pursuing PhD in Counselling.

Would appreciate very much if you can show the complete translation of this Atthavaisati Buddhavandana in English. Can't find this in my 2 Pali chanting books. I have one with different pali verses. Sadhu for the great effort and Happy Wesak 2020!

Cindy C thank you so much for posting this video on UA-cam. I found this to be a very useful video, since Ven. Indarathana chants about the virtues of the 28 Supremely Enlightened Buddhas. These Supremely Enlightened Supreme Buddhas were indeed the mightiest of beings, the most glorious of beings, the ones who brought immense happiness and fortune to this world. They were indeed great heroes, and the chiefs of all beings. They were the greatest beings to have ever existed throughout these 4 incalculable and 100,000 eons. They were omniscient and omnipotent. They completely eradicated all defilements and were purified in the mind, body and speech. They were pure in conduct. They completely eliminated all unwholesome actions. They crushed the armies of Mara, just as a mighty elephant crushes down a bamboo hut made of soft material. They taught the Supreme Dhamma out of limitless compassion for all beings.
Sampath Perera, you may like to look for other chanting by Bhante Indarathana. My other favourites are Metta Sutta, Rattana Sutta, Mangala Sutta, etc.
