As far as the dust ring, I have never had one just from the pot. I actually got the idea from my retailer who says his wife bought him a dragon and when it gets hot enough the steam comes out of the dragon's news. I don't mind some humidity in the air because as you know in the Winter time the air is dry. The humidity from the pot Will also help to warm up the area, And keep your nostrils from drying out.. Lol
Do you wish you bought the hybrid model? I like what a catalyst does but I don’t want the headache of cleaning it, clogging it up, and cracking it. Does this unit heat your house?
Its a yes no for me. being I only burn from the time I get home till bedtime that would be my no reason. now if I were going to burn all day n night which I would like to do on the weekends that would be my yes. the advantage is once the catalyst gets hot it doesn't take a lot of fuel to keep it going. I'm going to have the insert and chimney cleaned every year so the cleaning of the cat would be done by them. My 1st floor is about 1500 sq. and it warms it up nicely. so thats where having the cat and keeping it burning would benefit because it would eventually warm up the house.

I wanted to say thank you for doing your wood stove videos, they helped me make my decision, as you know my stove is just like yours with all the air tubes but Mine also has a catalyst I can push in once it’s ready. Hey j s. The opening on my insert is 2.5 Sq ft. An opening that is less than 6 sq.. ft has to be a minimum of 16in. From the front of my opening to the end of the hearth is 17in.

WhT size log can this take north south loading ? And east west loading? Thanks for making this video
Hey Jon, your welcome, it can take up to an 18" either direction. If possible the max I prefer is 16" for wiggle room.

Don't use a grate. Your owners manual may even say so.
