  • This video is on how to Preflight a Cessna 172 and on how to preflight a Cessna 152.
    The Cessna 152 and 172s are amazing training aircrafts and you will likely be flying this during your flight training. If you are wondering what you need to do before every flight, this video explains just that. I am taking you along on my preflight and showing you a step-by-step overview of how to preflight your aircraft. Don't forget to use a checklist because no matter how many times you have done it, you can still forget something. So just refer to a checklist and examiners also love to see it in checkrides.

    In this video, I take you along with me while I am preflighting a yellow Cessna 152. Preflight is an essential part of every flight and it must be performed before every single flight. Following a checklist will ensure that you do not miss anything on your pre-flight. Missing an important part of the preflight can be extremely dangerous and can lead to an in-flight emergency. Just so you don't face such a problem and so you know how to correctly preflight an aircraft, I have made this video.
    Preflight includes an initial check where you do the basics and write down the hobbs and tach time. Then comes the exterior check where you check the fuel quality and quantity, pitot tube, static port, lights, wings, ailerons, flaps, rudder, stabilizer, tires, brakes, engine, alternator belt, oil, to name a few. After this, you do a final walk around to make sure everything looks good.
    Once the Exterior checklist is completed, we move on to the interior checklist. This is where we check our circuit breakers, put on our safety belt/shoulder harness, give a passenger brief and move on the starting the airplane.

    One small thing... The key should not be in the ignition during your preflight! For safety, leave it on the top of the dash so others know that key is visible and you are not ready to start the aircraft. If I don't see the key, I am not approaching the aircraft.

    This video is amazing and itts so informative.... thanks a lot❤ I hope to join a flight school soon and also take aviation degree just like you did 😁would you explain briefly what course you took in university and which is the best... Like aviation technology vs aviation management... I prefer science but I'm not sure 🙂thanks once again for this lovely video and I'm sure it helps many aspiring students pilots like myself ♥️

      Thank you for the lovely comment. My degree is a science degree. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if it is science or arts.
      If you want a back up plan degree, I would suggest you look into aerospace engineering, or Aviation technician type degrees. If not then look at one that offers courses similar to what you will need for you pilot license. This is what I did and these degrees are available everywhere, both in India and US. Try googling and see which place works best for you 😊

    Always been a dream of mine to fly a plane. Thanks for giving us a inside look of what you do! Will they allow you to fly if you have a partial color blindness? I'm red and green color blind so just curious if that would be an issue.

    • @LightninGirl
      @LightninGirl  3 роки тому +1

      Colorblindness is a big issue that they check for. So you probably won't be able to fly commercially / professionally. But you can fly a plane here in the US to learn how to fly and for fun. They will add a limitation to you student pilot certificate and allow you to fly. Your Instructor or flight school in US can help you with this. Let them know before hand that you have colorblindness
      (If you are curious, You will be getting a statement of demonstrated ability (SODA) from the FSDO to fly)
      Hope this helps💛
