It sure is very weird. I do cat hospice and would never, ever just leave them. I have delayed hospitalization after the ER to get someone to replace me and to explain all of the medication regimens. No way someone training to be a veterinarian would abandon an animal.

I would argue that a lot of Koreans I have met are terrible at taking care of their animals and would absolutely do that. Many don't have a single clue as to what animals need and see them as glorified dolls. As terrible as it sounds, I get why the police did not think that was a red flag. However, she is a vet student so it seems much less likely since she actually got an education on how to take care of animals and their needs.

There are people that decide to become elementary teachers, and yet they are abusive towards their children. There are people that decide to become doctors, and yet they are very rude and uncaring towards their sick relatives. There are people that become scientists and yet firmly believe and publically parade around the most ridiculously antiscientific beliefs, like that the planet earth is only 6000 years old or that it was once completely submerged by the flood. And there are people that decide to become veterinarians and still don’t take good care of their own pets.
It’s unusual, but sadly not that unusual to be actually implausible. The testimony of their family about how she took care of her pets is more relevant than her veterinarian job at turning it into a red flag for “out of character” behaviour.

My grandfather was a detective who died in the 70s and he would spend 1 or 2 days just looking for fingerprints using powder and a brush. It was very time consuming and exhausting part of the job. To see police be so careless and unbothered about collecting and securing evidence with advanced technology is very infuriating. The victim and their families deserves better. Very disrespectful or suspicious when this happens.

He was also the last one to see her alive. Him and the other student not "remembering" if they used her desktop??? How do the police ignore such red flags????
Edit: The cops knew but I just reacted when I typed this out. Even though the evidence is "circumstantial", he still did it in my eyes. Another thing I feel like they missed, is that the same two people who stole her stuff were probably the same ones who cleaned up the apartment.

In regards to the neighbours it's not uncommon for people to be hesitant to answer police about something like a missing persons case for fear of being implicated, even if they're entirely innocent. You see it in cases all the time where there's no clear answer or resolution, people start accusing anyone who's said anything. An innocuous noise you heard that you might think related could end up with people speculating on you being part of a conspiracy. Whilst there are people who always try to contribute whatever they can, the majority of people fear becoming involved in matters with law enforcement.

Finally, how the he** would the stalker be aware of her most "precious belongings" (table and the hammer)? How many people around her had this personal information?
Whoever did this had a free pass into her ap. He knew the password for the door or perhaps knocked on the door 4 min later. Her computer could be infected with malicious software anytime , any ocasion he had been there.

My bet is on Professor Moon.
    Why?
Her search history said sexual harassment versus assault.
That's typically a term used when someone who has a position over you is bothering you, such as a boss or a professor, etc.
I also think that it was the Professor who followed her into the bathroom at the bar. If it was Kim, why would he even divulge that information because the police might ask potential witnesses at the bar if they had noticed anyone following her into the bathroom and it might identify him.
The Professor would have unfettered access to every area of the school and tranquilizers at any time, day or night, but I doubt that students would have.
I think that Moon became infatuated with her, especially after she began tutoring his children.
I believe that Moon started messaging her inappropriately after he had verbally told her that he was interested in her.
After he followed her into the bathroom at the bar, she probably messaged him and told him that she was going to turn him in for harassment.
I think that he showed up at her apartment door asking for her to let him apologize, and she let her guard down and let him in, thinking that he was sincere.
Maybe he gave her some of the tranquilizer, SAd her, and killed her with the hammer?
As a Professor, Moon likely had a vehicle to transport her body in, whereas it doesn't appear that Kim had one.
As far as cleaning up the apartment goes, I have seen a lot of true crime videos where well-meaning family and friends cleaned up a potential crime scene of someone who had gone missing and later regretted doing so.
Anyway, those are just my thoughts.
This is a heartbreaking case. 💔
I feel awful for her elderly parents.

Kim definitely seems to be a prime suspect. However, about him acting dumb about the passcode it could be due to many reasons. Firstly,he may have been trying to protect Lee by keeping her vital info secure. Secondly, what if the two were actually more than just friends? Korea being extremely conservative about such things, revealing that he knew the passcode could've led to speculation and scandalized Lee. Thirdly,he may have been confused in the situation but the passcode being a very personal piece of information he decided against revealing it.
But the detail about him keeping a journal and collecting Lee's hair are giving full stalker vibes alongwith Lee's dad also calling him a stalker. Lee may have been a nice girl & may have decided to reciprocate Kim's obsession by giving him her friendship. The most sinister idea I have is that Kim confessed what he did to his friend & they purposely cleaned up everything. It's well nigh ludicrous that such well educated adults were unaware of how important a crime scene & DNA evidence is. Cleaning a little is acceptable but such a deep clean rings suspicion.

I feel so sorry for her and her family, especially since they will most likely never know what happened to her... And I can't imagine being such a disgusting person as that "psychic". Why do people like this interfere with investigations and give false hope to families and other loved ones of missing people?

  • @MFLimited
    @MFLimited 5 місяців тому +4

Statistically, it was Kim. Most women who are murdered are murdered by the men closest to them, romantically. The fact that their romance did not get off the ground may have been because she did not feel that way. He was the only one to witness her coming out of the bathroom looking frightened. He was the last person to see her alive, by his own admittance. He had the code to her apartment. He could’ve gone in after her and he also lied about knowing the code. To save her honour? Feeding her dogs when she is away is nothing to be ashamed of.
As her father said Kim followed her around. Maybe she thought they were friends, but some people will pretend to be your friend if that’s the best they can get. He got drunk that night, he may have gone way too far and killed her when she resisted. He inserted himself into the search and cleaned her apartment after the crime. Occam’s razor.

  • @jeffreese1828

Kim . 1. He new the pass code, but played dumb .
    2. He cleaned the crime scene. 3. He was the last (supposedly innocent) person to see her alive , by his own admission , probably to explain why he was with her ... if anyone reported seeing them together . 4. He let her walk down the alley ALONE . If he was a good dude , and non threatening , there is NO reason for this .
    Some thoughts , tho-
    1. Sensing something bad HAD happened , he didn't want to let on he knew the code ( dumb , but understandable)
    2. He (honestly) may have been trying to help his friend by cleaning.... NOT KNOWING what was up with her , and not wanting her to be embarrassed by the mess as her folks and others would be coming .
    3. He MAY HAVE walked her home , just as he said , BUT - 4. didn't walk her down the alley on HER insistence , because she wanted to avoid an awkward scene at the door with her friend , who she knew was crushing on her .
This is why physical or eye witness evidence is SO crucial ... because a person's "Word" can be taken many ways .
Still , a journal of her activities, collecting her hairs etc. IS some bad lovesick behavior....it doesn't mean murder !
Also , the thieves had her identity , address , etc and could've easily scoped out the scene for a couple days and found convenient hiding spots , in the dark alley by her door , to way lay her , or spring from , the moment she opened the door .... as the young lady in the vid barely avoided !
No evidence she was disposed of at the school so the Prof. angle seems unlikely and the butts and tissues in the abandonded apt were prob an voyeuristic and horny maintenance guy.... who would have had access .
Just sooo messed up whoever hurt her , and my heart goes out to her poor family . Hope this WILL be solved someday , but don't see how . Sorry for the long comment . Bored . Lol

I am Korean and I can second this. Even in events of SA, media and the public will often times put some blame on the woman for acting a certain way or leading. Women are expected to behave a certain way towards men which has caused men to feel a certain superiority over women. It's very much traditional when it comes to marriages and relationships.

Part of it is the possessiveness, stalking, and post-breakup misbehavior. I'm a male and I've been stalked by Korean women. I always hate to take a shit at work out of respect for others, so they don't walk into a stinky situation. One night, I really needed to go and as soon as I got home from work, I sat my cell phone down on the counter without even turning the light to my apartment on, and walked into the restroom to take a shit. I did turn the restroom light on. No sooner than I sat down, I heard my phone vibrate. I waddled/shimmied with my pants around my ankles out of the bathroom to my phone. It was an ex-girlfriend. She asked where I was and I told her I had just gotten home from work. She asked me if I was sure. I chuckled and said I'm either at home or I'm about to take a shit in someone ELSE's bathroom. She said, "But your light isn't on." And her home was around an hour away from mine. That was soooooo weird and creepy.
I'm friends with all of my ex-girlfriends, except the Korean ones because they ALWAYS do weird stalker-type stuff and not just one I talked about earlier. One often left really long back-to-back-to-back messages on my answering machine when I was at work every day, back when landlines were still normal. Long-winded, foul-mouthed rants, saying my dick is so small and it was so sad I didn't have a girlfriend anymore, that her new boyfriend makes so much money compared to me, et cetera, along with really disturbing, mental stuff that I don't wish to repeat. Ghosting is extremely common after break-ups in Korea for this reason. Both genders. None of my American, Palestinian, Turkish, or Vietnamese ex-girlfriends ever did anything like that and I'm still on good terms with all of them, especially my high school sweetheart. But breakups here in Korea just cause some really weird, creepy, messed-up behavior.
It's not just the ladies. I've heard stories about the gentlemen too. It's just that my personal experiences were from dating women.

the creepy guy and the teacher probably worked together. the professor would have had access to the drugs found at her apartment and access to the incinerator, while creepy guy was still under the radar as "ok" or "timidly safe" in her eyes, would have had access to her home and probably had access to her computer either before or during the assault that claimed her life. Then disposing of the hammer in a plastic bag in any waterway would have been all that's needed. South Korea has an insane misogyny problem, to the point where their birth rate is lower than japans bc women at large are so fed up and DONE with them. It's called the 4B's, and i know this took place before the movement started in 2019 but the ideas have been percolating for decades- these things don't just come from nowhere. I'm willing to bet the men responsible felt entitled to her and felt wronged bc of her choice not to engage with them.

I don't buy that she would have left on her own and forgot her dogs. Nobody who has ever had any pets, even less someone studying to become a veterinarian, would leave pets of any kind unattended for longer than their usual day. Either she'd have found some place to board them or ask someone she knew to watch and take care of them or, in an extreme case where she knew she wouldn't be coming back, she'd have given them away.
And her throwing out her hammer and prize coffee table is a notion I find dubious. If she was the DIY type and had a good relationship with her parents, then that particular gift from her father would probably be something she'd never want to part with, even after it was old and worn out to the point of uselessness for sentimental reasons. And the table, well, that's utility. If she had left on her own and intended to come back far sooner than the point of her dogs being weak from having not eaten for so long, she'd still have used it.
And look, I know Eastern Asian cultures operate on shame and respectfulness and all that, but cleaning the apartment when there is reason to suspect a crime had been committed? Really? Everyone knows a crime scene needs to stay the way it was first discovered, regardless of country and culture, so the police can conduct a proper investigation. It does not take a true crime fan or crime scene investigator to point that out. I'm sorry to say, but that right there makes it look to me like her friends covered up her murder.
