    Good prep, Dee! I'm fortunate to have the rate fixed until 2027 but already stashing overpayment money in decent rate savings accounts;)

    I'm just now watching this video but it saddens me to see that things have not improved much on the inflation side of things and fear we may well be stuck with high inflation for some time to come! 🤦🏽‍♂️

      Yeah I think we can definitely see now that we are in this mess for quite some time. We have to learn to live with it for now unfortunately 😔

    I'm in this position now! I bought my house in May 2018 and fixed for 5 years at 2.14%. The fix is up end of May and the best I can find is 4.23% if I fix for another 5 years. LTV has gone from 82% to 63% (even with some additional borrowing for a loft extension). I will keep my eye on the rates between now and and next month but will most likely fix for another 5 years and overpay when I can so shouldn't end up too worse off if rates drop drastically between now and 2028!

      Sounds like a great plan! Seriously crazy to think your interest rate will be 2% higher though with almost a 20% reduction in LTV. But it could always be worse!
