Lecture Series on Design of Machine Elements - I by Prof.B.Maiti, Department of Mechanical Engineering,IIT Kharagpur. For more details on NPTEL visit nptel.iitm.ac.in
I like that you have a preview for next lecture along with the title. It makes it easy to follow, sometimes it's easy to get lost or hard to find the following lecture. It happened to me in the past.
this comes from Strength of materials/ Mechanics of solids course. Topic - Shear stress in beams under bending/transverse load. Shear stress at the neutral axis of a rectangular c/s beam is maximum and is equal to 1.5 times the avg shear stress calculated by Force/Area.

Thank you Sir. It is a great lecture.
7:52 why τ(max) is equal to 1.5 τ(avg)
where did the 1.5 came from?

H is height, l is length and f is ?😓
I think there is a mistake in 20.50 sec...he concludes that f1/e2=f2/e2=(f1+f2)/(e1+e2).... how it is possible?
simple mathematical relation a/b=c/d=(a+b)/(c+d)

Why can improve sound level
this sucks
very bad lecture very few info , neither speaker good but i am fan of your other lectures
Obviously a knowledgeable lecturer but very annoying presentation - cut here and there all the time.
