You can see in the ending that Mikasa died at an old age, and then Armin as a grandpa visiting Eren & Mikasa' graves.
The war started again far in the future after Eren' friends are long gone.
In the manga, the building are skyscrapers like in our world. In the anime, the building are more like cyberpunk alien-like architecture.
Safe to say that Eldians live for hundreds or even thousands years of peace before the war started again.
So, Eren did actually achieve his purpose: to have his friends live in peace.
The song for the ending that Linked Horizon, Eren & Mikasa VA sung are titled: To You 2000…or…20000 Years From Now…
That means, the red scarf boy with the dog, came into Eren's tree either 2.000 or 20.000 after the rumbling.
But hey, his circumstances are different than Ymir: he came with his dog friend as a companion in peace, not being chased by the dogs and soldiers.
Maybe, this time around, the outcome would be different when the boy making contact with the Source of all living matter under the tree...who knows?
God I love this show. I know a lot of people had an issue with Eren claiming he was just a "garden variety idiot", but I think he's off the mark there. Eren is far from an idiot, he's actually quite smart, but he IS unwise. He's a child who was radicalized at a young age and given an immense amount of power. This power allowed him to seek his undeveloped, childish goals instead of being forced to grow, evolve, and learn nuance. Eren isn't an idiot, he's a fool.
Very well put and yeah this show is just absolutely stunning jaw dropping. I will treasure it always
I love how Eren and Zeke the two Yeager brothers both had there heads taken off by Mikasa and Levi the two Ackermans
There y'all go folks. The greatest there is. Don't think there will ever be a TV show, or narrative such as Attack on Titan ever again in this lifetime. It's tough to beat this show where it defeated every other show's IMDB's TOP ratings for years. Absolutely insane. Shinzou Sasageyo !
I agree. In terms of animes I watched this is right up there for me at the top alongside FMAB.
I was definitely crying 😭😭 at the last scene of the show!! Man, what an amazing journey throughout this series!!
Simply amazing
Another thing is with the Founding Titan (being a slave for the greater world) and Attack Titan (Freedom to renounce war), it's crystallised within Eren, there's themes of Fate and individualism/Freedom in this series but there's also trauma in Eren's heart between those two themes he truly wanted to destroy the world somewhere in his heart for what's happened to him and in turn what he did to himself with the founding titan/attack titan to make the story happen in the first place with the Smiling Titan that's how he projects it somewhere deep inside his heart despite understanding this humanistic world there's something in his suicidal brain that projects out in someway. He justifies that it's for his friends but deep down just like the world itself it cannot get rid of hatred of the world itself for the love of the people he has, but in this case his trauma overcomes his perspective in order to free the world in order to free himself for the people around him, it's a mix of colours of perspectives because he bares the past, future, himself, the people around him and ect for the small things he has in his life that pushed to move forward and fight, until it was finally over. His enslavement to freedom or fate parallels his trauma and heart to some extent.
Thank you 3rd Street Reactions for reacting to this series. It brought me a lot of enjoyment, even through some really challenging times.
Shane, I've followed you over the years from Blind Wave to here, watched you react to a bunch of shows, and I gotta say I've never seen you this consistently emotionally moved by a show like this. Good fuckin shit man
They thanks you man; its always nice when I see these comments. This show absolutely gutted me. I loved it and its in my top 2 favorite animes. Probably in my top 10 fave shows of all time
@@3rdstreetreactions Top 2 favourite animes? What's the other show in that top 2 list?
@@SceneSurgeSnippetshe said fmab in another comment
@@conallgough4642 That's exactly what I needed to hear. FMAB is my baby 🥺
they all have good stories at the beginning but with very painful endings
yeah... It gutted me
🤯 Ending right Eren gave Mekasa and He's old Best friend after he dies he's final gift of "Freedom" I remember watching this anime and being doubtful it would be good..man was I wrong ⚡ It will never get to DBZ But it's up there 💯 Shane Zach Brett Thanks for watching this and a Hell of a Journey.. KEEP MOVING FORWARD 💚🤘
Thanks so much Ace!! Thanks for watching along with us the entire way!!👍🏻👍🏻
Hey big C I felt the same way as soon as I saw it on netflix and I saw the dumbass collossal titan... boy I was so wrong. One of the GOATS for sure. Just amazing
Thank you guys for the reactions and discussions to this series really enjoyed it and also I like Brett a lot I wish he was here for the whole thing ❤️❤️
Thanks for being on the journey with us and yeah we do too!
Thanks for the journey! Glad you guys finally finished it !
Hey thanks for the comment and being on the journey with us. We got Vinland saga next!
Watched the finale with some of my boys and now y’all are doing the same, hope y’all love it
we def did! I hope your boys did the same!
This show definitely defies expectations by making it’s protagonist (eren) the technical final villain and I don’t know a lot of shows that do that often at least none that I watch
And I said technical because if you agree with him or not he’s technically the final villain of the story
Would have been far better if they hadn’t of tried to make him a sympathetic villain and had everyone crying over genocidal psychopaths death.
If you want another amazing story, with peak character writing, mystery, plot twists and emotion, give Re:Zero a watch. The dub is great too.
Thankyou for the amazing reaction and discussion guys..Loved it.
Thank you Deb. It was one of the best shows ive ever watched
@@3rdstreetreactions glad you feel that way mayn…This show means a lot to me and i am glad people all over the world appreciate it too
Unrelated but you should do Yu Yu Hakusho next! It deserves more reactions lol
Doing vinland saga but yu yu is a possibility at some point
Very recently the attack on titan creator made something called LeviBadBoy about his younger self, he said that's the last work he was going to do but he also said that about things before. There's also this side series called Shingeki No Fly? Or something like that, those 2 seem like the last works he's given out, also keep in mind there are things in the manga good or bad that didn't make it in the anime, but 99% of this ending movie is the same as the manga, maybe a couple of line switches and bettering the pace but in S3 and S1 there are things that didn't make the cut in the anime (I haven't seen it myself) but I just wanted to point out other content
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I FINALLY GOT TO WATCH, PEAK REACTION, LOVED THIS SERIES REACTION A LOT! What an hour and 3 mins man. Also slight thing in the end credits when it shows the dog and the boy with the tree, it's parallel to Ymir and how she was chased by dogs with arrows on her, but this time a more positive outlook on to the future with both venturing to potentially a more visually better future, so I do disagree with Shane a little that it was pessimistic, I think the show is still mostly tragic but themes of the future are positive and idealist because that's how it should be, Eren made it so the % of humanity outside of Eldians is the same as Eldians in population while also taking away the titans so they could have a chance to fight which any of the ways is horrible to be fair lol
I watched the whole discussion, man this was so enjoyable to watch week to week that almost depresses me that it's over, there's still DBZ but it doesn't feel the same but it's still something I'll watch anyways lol Such a joy to watch these reactions and the discussion.
Another thing is I'm glad the anime ending really revived the love for the series again after the manga ending, for years it was compared to GoT and LoTR, but people were drawing parallels to GoT more so that he just had a downfall but the anime really brought all the love back that it had, because there were people that were calling the worst ending in fiction and as a person who hadn't watched it at that moment felt disappointed but watching it myself I couldn't have been happier that it wasn't the case at all and most people thought the same thing when anime viewers watched it themselves.
Hey man, thank you for the comment. Zacch and I have X-Men that’s coming up also in terms of anime my son Malachi and I are going to be doing demon slayer and zacch and I are picking up Vinland saga here very soon.
Also, this is one of the best animes I’ve ever watched in my life and it might be one of the top five favorite shows. I’ve ever watched definitely in the top 10.
@@3rdstreetreactions
I'm not sure if you noticed it, but this and Code Geass's endings are very similar it's compared quite a lot between Lelouch and Eren sacrificing themselves, I'm not sure if you remember it but the difference is one feels more like a tragedy but the other feels like a victory through tragedy, it's often also compared with Death Note, honestly all great anime.
Overall really enjoyed this show, wasn't the biggest fan of the ending but overall this show is a show I really enjoyed. For the most part I like what they did with the ending of Eren. The thing I don't like is the overall resolution like Eren scrafice was for nothing, nothing changes they don't learn from the mistake and they would still have war so what the point of him deciding to do the rumbling it seems pointless. So what was the point of Eren letting Sasha or Hange die like if he care for his friends the most why wouldn't he decide to tell them everything and live his life with Mikasa because that would be the best outcome for his friends.
Hey I get what you mean. I def do think its realistic for the cycyle of violence to continue though. But I was dissapointed how Paradis became this extremely violent nation. Our heroes got to live long lives which ultimately is what eren wanted so i'm happy for them. In terms of escapism though I didnt need reminded that the world and violence just keeps going on t hough.
@@3rdstreetreactions 100% agree this is a more realistic ending but I think I wanted a bit more of a hopeful ending considering we lost Eren and a lot of other characters.
Such an amazing show nearly completely ruined by the way it ended.
why did this come on my watch list?? this sucks one minute in.. bye
