Philatelists -- the fancy word for stamp collectors
These stamps are way more organized than the ones I have. Thank you for sharing PCI
The letter was the best part IMO
@@TuliTuli_ I thought so too. When did you last do anything with stamps?
@@PocketChangeInspector when I first started my channel I removed the gold leafed stamps from their envelopes. But as of stamps themselves I was given a box a year ago of mixed ones and I just added them to the album I had from when I was about 8years old lol people near me don’t care for stamps. I just started off with them
Wow I was born in 1965 lol😅
Just neat item's to be reminded about how communication took place in written form and someone's signature really meant something & the stamps being the catalyst that got the message there.
We get used to the fancy tech I guess but writing letters and carrying loose change around for a telephone away from home wasn't all that bad.
Very nice collection 👍👍👍
So cool to be looking back about 50 years ago. Interesting stuff.
This was the lightest of the 3 albums. I'm going to see if I can improve on recording when I do the other two. Just not used to stamps.
I'm not informed when it comes to stamps, but that was a very interesting video. Seeing all the various types & amounts from years past. It had a nostalgic vibe to it.
I was more fascinated with the letter and college newspaper. I wasn't ready to tackle the thicker albums. Need to work up to those. Not that they have much more but I just don't know stamps and coins are easier to record.
That Shell Stamp is very interesting!!! I’m gonna look up some information on it. There’s a couple others I saw in the mid sixties that are intriguing. Very Cool Collection
Was given a stamp book...put some in there...in the attic somewhere.
The Indiana statehood stamp looks cool
I'd have to go back and look at that page but toward the bottom of one page was an interesting PTA stamp.
@PocketChangeInspector remember having some space stamps from the 70's...one day I have to find it...know when I retired and moved back that I still had it
@@a3skywarrior929 I remember seeing those before.
👍👍👍👍👍
I have never been into stamps but I know some people go crazy for them
I'm a fish out of water with them. I never collected them myself.
If you sell your inherited collection you should be able to buy a couple of new cars. Hot wheels cars I mean.
Agree. That appears to be it.😅 Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately the album has little value. The best thing you could do is donate it to a local stamp club to pass onto a junior collector. Sorry.
Pretty much what I was expecting and not much better from the other two I have to get around to but not in any hurry to do so. The letter and newspaper were more interesting to me. Appreciate the feedback because I have no knowledge on stamps. Thank you Bob!
Second the assessment - due to most being used and some not stored properly little or no value. The Oil First Day Cover though would have a little but of worth with the letter from Shell. And the picture on the FDC is embossed. This would be worth keeping WITH the letter as a neat piece of history as our world moves farther and farther away from a fossil fuel based one.
If any of the stamps are unused and the gum on the back not disturbed either keep as a momento or you can use them for postage.
