Thank you so much for tagging me in this and we will go book shopping here one day, Gina! This is such a fantastic tag because it already had me looking up one my old favourite second-hand/used bookshops which closed many years ago and I have found an amazing blog post with pictures of it and a floor plan! Happy memories!
Such a fun and cozy video! 📚 I love discovering new bookstores, and your recommendations are amazing. Geddy's cameo was the perfect touch-so cute! 😄 It’s always great to see a fellow book lover share their favorite spots. Thanks for the awesome tour, I’ll definitely check these places out! 📖✨
Been used book shopping in England many years ago while on a trip there. I was in heaven, absolutely the best I’ve ever seen. My only regret: Wish I traveled with an extra suitcase to have room to haul more home! My original Miss Read’s from there.
I need to head up to Seattle sometime for all the wonderful bookstores. The last time I was there, I went to a used bookstore that featured cats. They had cutouts through the shelves and doors for the cats to roam around.
Gina, thanks so much for doing my tag! I can’t wait to see some of these places! (Lindsey Reads is in Portland and did this tag and talked about Powell’s). 💛
I always get butterflies in my stomach when I see book stores😅. Unfortunately I have to get used vintage books with specific covers that I want overseas. Postage is ruinous but I don't care😅. Abe books is my go to, loads of nice stores there 😊. Have a great weekend Gina!❤
Its my DREAM to bookshop in England/Scotland/Ireland. Like literally number one dream on my list. 😂 I loved this video. I am seriously considering starting a UA-cam channel or at least an instagram just for books. Its so nerve wracking to start. 😬😆
You should start a channel!! It's so much fun! Instagram is easy and low risk too, if you aren't comfortable with the whole video thing. I'm happy to help any way I can!
I think we lived between 30min of each other and I swear that you picked up some of my donated books along the way .. ☺ Now live a bit further out (across the water), near an island. But the little town has many book stores. Maybe even more than coffee shops and bakeries. Used to volunteer at Horizon Books up on 15th on Capitol Hill way back in the day - now it's Ada's Books. We're so lucky to live in the PacNW! 🥰
I would definitely pick England for a shopping buddy! it's hard shopping with someone with the same tastes LOL esp with al limited supply of books! but at least in England I could enjoy England! maybe Canada as well
I was there a couple of months ago! I had a friend visiting and we book shopped every single day. We did Pegasus, then, puttered through Paper Boat Books and had lunch at Georgetown Liquor Company. It was a great day.
I live in Houston area and Half Price Books is the only one I can think of. the other 2 closed down that I liked and I think it was mostly because of the cost of the rent- nothing here is cheap and selling books for a couple of books can't k eep up with the rent and a/c costs. so I'm mostly online now. but there's a new mystsery bookstoreth at also sellss ome used mysteries and it's a great experience there - just a bit of a drive for me - Murder By the Book is the name!
I also have gone to Half Price Books many times, I love their foreign language section. I think I've been to TBC once, and there was a store down there called King's Books, don't know if it's still there. I adore used book stores and am always searching for treasures! I like your idea of an author list, think I will try that on my next book excursion.
@@GinaStanyerBooks I will have to go to King's next time. I went to TBC and HPB today and found a few good ones. All nonfiction, knitting, German and Norwegian...
the one time I tried selling to half price books they let me haul in 3 boxes and offered less thank $2 - a lot even had their price sticker still on them. and yep I h auled every single box back out to my truck! definitely wasn't worth it
Yay for Geddy!!! I love Geddy.

I worked at Half Price books in Texas for a few years. I loved that job.
It’s a great place.

Yes! If (WHEN!) I go to the UK I’m taking an empty suitcase!

@ Yes that’s the one! I couldn’t think of the name.
I wish we had Half Price Books in Canada! 😂

I do live in London and if you ever visit London I would insist we went book shopping 😂 Your taste is so English you would love it.
One of these days I'm going to take you up on that! I'm going to bring an empty suitcase :)
If you are ever in West Seattle, stop by Pegasus Book Exchange!

I believe Morgan Long is from Oregon And I think you will love her channel 🇨🇦😁
She is and I do! I don’t always think of her as a booktube channel, mostly just because she’s so huge. But you’re right she totally is!

Yep, exactly. That's another reason why I end up donating them. It's just not worth the trouble!
