i love them in my reef tank. they come out sometimes and occasionally jump on my hand and clean it. i got a pair to eat the left over food and they do a good job!
I just got 2 of them. Got them home and put them to aclamated to the temperature by flitting the bag on the tank and when I come to check on the the back was full with peppermint shrimp babies.
@@BrockLeonard I most go today to my local aquarium store for some frozen brain shrimp babies and the supply need to hatch new ones home so I can keep the peppermint shrimp babies fed! I am keeping the two adults that come in the bag with the babies for now and it seem to be fine. Any tips to improve my chances of keeping them alive?
Isa Abd Rahman Sosa-Dominguez Try to keep everyone in the tank well fed because other fish will see those baby shrimps as snacks if they start to get hungry.
@@BrockLeonard I only have them and the 2 adult (their mom and anothe I gess the male) at that tank. I put them their since I noticed that female was with eggs I just never thought that was so far in to her incubation.
@@IndoorEcosystem no but I will say that if you have a digitate hydroid outbreak they will kind of just disappear. That’s what everyone told me and sure enough that’s what happened
@@IndoorEcosystem yep I bet they will die way down after their initial spread. My LFS has them but it’s not an issue. Also if Halloween hermits I hear can help
Hı thanks for the video how can we breed this shrimp ? Lots of the time people who tries to breed this no baby shrimps could stays alive. What is the secret of this? what can we do to breed these lovely things??
I've never seen someone do it successfully. They will lay eggs often but they tend to get eaten by the shrimp or other fish. If any are to survive the next hard part is feeding them tiny live foods for them to eat.
Waaaay different than my experience. Mine takes food from my hi fin goby, wrecked a frogspawn coral, killed a fighting conch. All this I watched it do. Its not a camel shrimp either I assure you. These guys are little terrorists. 1 lives in the sump, the other will once I catch it. Maybe I'll feed it to my buddies trigger.

When they nibble on your hand while in the tank, that’s the best 😂
Out of all the things my puffer fish killed he’s mesmerized by the peppermint shrimp. Doesn’t touch him. 4 years and still alive. Any ideas?
That's impressive given the peppermint shrimp average lifespan of 2 years. You're clearly doing something right!!

Did the babies make it? I've heard they're hard to care for!

Will they go after hydroids? Digitate specifically?
Reef safe until they eat all aiptasia. Had 3, they did a great job getting rid of the aiptasia, then , they turned on my acans.

They safe with engineering goby awesome brock as always
Yes!
Is there any shrimp that you can keep with a snowflake eel?

Brock Leonard lol and can i keep him with a psach damselfish
Susan Burnett yes!
I think they also can eat feather dusters.
Definitely not reef safe
Brock you ever used these for digitate hydroids? I’m trippin about this hydroid spread I have
I'm currently trying to figure this out. Did you have any luck?

@@wtjonny Thanks for the info. I am trying to track down a Halloween hermit and a few bumble bee snails
As soon as they run out of aptasia, they eat your softies.
That's what these assholes always conveniently leave out when trying to sell you their peppermint shrimp.
My filefish keeps attacking my 3 peppermint shrimp
Can you do a video on aptasia or do you have one already? I have no clue what they are or look like.

Dona BJBS it’s Life Rock Shapes by CaribSea
@@BrockLeonard ok. Nice rock
About how many in a nano 3 gallon?
Moonwalker Boi Just a couple. Don’t want them to get too aggressive if they run out of food.
will this eat my curlique anemone..? its related to aiptaisia
apdroid geek With them being so similar, there definitely is a chance.
Brock Leonard it died... i didnt acclimate it properly... but before it died it did take a nip on my anemone...
Do they fight hermit crabs? Also have a baby clown. I have an aiptasia i want gone
Austin You shouldn’t see any aggression from them except going after aiptasia’s
8 bucks? Ouch i got took

Could I put a sexy shrimp with my peppermint and cleaner shrimp?
Matthew Klette That’d be fine Matthew!
Dude! Learn the facts before you feed people bs! These are not reef safe!
There are actually different types the darker red are the ones that are known to eat some coral.
