    I just got one of these amps a few weeks ago, and I must say I think I like the tone a little bit better than what I am getting out of my diezel VHX. I would have never thought to just dime the gain on crunch 1 to get the tones that you are getting, so thank you for putting this into my brain, it is much appreciated, also great playing man.

      Thank you! Crunch 1 has JUST enough gain. It's all usable. Channel 4...I keep it a 11:00. Don't let the "Gain Shamers" tell you to lower your gain settings. Sometimes, depending on the amps design, all the way up is just enough.

      TONE WARS You are absolutely right, and sometimes cranking the gain up instead of putting an overdrive in front of it gives you just the right amount of saturation, the other thing I love about this amp is putting it on the lead channel and engaging the smooth function, it makes my leads sing like angels. A while back I asked you if you liked the diezel better than the engle and you replied that you liked the engle better, you were absolutely right, there’s just something about it. thank you for the responses, your channel has been very helpful to me, you also led me down the path to all the synergy stuff, and I am very grateful.

    I'm starting to think that Tubes don't matter when it comes to high gain amps especially when you add an overdrive or EQ. I've compared Tube amps like the 5150, 6505, Peaey Triple X and I still prefer my solid state Randall Rh200 with a tube screamer for a FRACTION of the price.

    • @anxiousnation3820
      @anxiousnation3820 3 роки тому +1

      I think its what your ears get acclimated to. I started off playing solid state and didn't get what the hype was for tubes. Then One day I bought a tube amp and spent a ton of time with it. When i went back to my solid state I was shocked to hear what once sounded great sounded artificial and lacked something. I would say if your happy with solid state dont go down the expensive tube rabbit hole as it will cost you :)

    I may be wrong but can you post the images for the amp settings? During the video it looks like the same images were used for both channels. It appears the channel 4 light is on for each test you are showing. I would really like to know for sure since I have this amp and it had to be repaired right out of the box because a wire had come loose in shipping. I would also like to know how you have it set up with your helix and if you are using 4cm or effects only.

    • @DragonToad7378
      @DragonToad7378 3 роки тому

      I had to blow the video up on a larger screen and look at the amp itself for the changes and see the channel change while the other settings did not. I will be trying these for a while but the only thing I had to do was reduce the channel volumes to about 2 oclock because it was overloading the inputs on the helix I am using 4cm.. I have the effects output on the back at about 9 o'clock so I don't reduce the signal too much.

      Can you get the Savage dark and thick? Seems bright at times, compared to like a Diezel.
