according to the models - actually no (it's contra-intuitive, but it makes sense, for example: hot weather melting ice would cause ocean salinity levels to go down, causing the breakdown of ocean belts that circulate warm water in atlantic, causing freezing temperatures in the region, so UK would end up being extremely cold). having said that, i certainly do not believe that cows are causing it, and, with everything else going on, i'm starting to question the whole premise.

@@VergilTheLegendaryDarkSlayer No way is it that hot in Australia during winter. I lived in Sydney for six months, from Feb to August, and during winter it was raining and chilly most days. Parts of rural New South Wales were genuinely freezing. The Northern Territory would probably average well over 20 C in winter, but certainly not Australia as a whole.

I was west of Roma Qld a few years back and three places got down to minus 10*c Mitchell, Miles and Kingaroy where I was just East of Mitchell we went down to minus 11*c highest the next summer was 43*c (IN THE SHADE).

Being from Texas and seeing extreme heat to extreme cold. This is a breeze. Love it.
I'm in Queensland, but in the mid to late 80's I was in Orange when we had a snow storm and it was minus 10* c at 10 am with the wind chill factor taking it down to minus 25 c in the following summer we got to 40* c. Oh, we have a town called Texas, ESE of me with a population just under 1,000 people.

Continental areas of the Northern Hemisphere (like Texas) get much greater temperature extremes than Australia as the oceans moderate the Southern Hemisphere climate. Parts of Canada and Russia can get -40 in winter and +40 in summer.

Where are they getting this information. I can remember a day in May, 1984 where it is 8 degrees maximum in Sydney. It was also wet and windy. I remember it particularly because our neighbours were beginning a house renovation so they had no roof and front and back walls were only one layer of brick with lots of drafty gaps. My neighbour had to go to bed fully clothed to stay warm because she didn't have any heating.

Obviously not in "Sydney", since the May lowest is 11.6 (June is 9.7, July 7.7, August 9.1, September 9.5), probably a local lowest temp if you're remembering correctly, Penrith temperatures rather than Sydney ones for example
