Aw man, I subscribed but I just realized your last video is over a year old. Hope you pick it up again some day, your videos are awesome and this one in particular helped me decide which to choose. So thank you for that!
Thanks my friend! Glad the video was helpful. Yes been a long while since the last video. I want to make more with the books I have, but I'll blame it all on a puppy we got last year that takes up so much of my free time.
Your videos are always so thorough, and show exactly what I want to know about when looking at which format to purchase a book in. Super helpful. Thanks.
I read the first one and bought the second one and mum looked through it and she took it off me and I started crying so hard because it was such a good story
6:15 so I compared this splash page with the trade version, and it looks like both the hardcover and the compendium shaved off ~5 millimeters on each side, like it's slightly zoomed-in. Nothing dramatic, and most of the time it won't matter, but it's interesting.
Live reporting from a 6/15/23 Amazon order. My BOOK ONE came with sown binding + glue. My BOOK TWO came with just the sown binding. I'm highly debating ordering a second BOOK ONE to see if I can get the sown binding.
Damn. I want the this collection for the great price, but I really want the bonus stuff too. I guess for now I, going for the three volumes individually. Thank you for such an informative review!! Now that 55 is FINALLY out (and AMAZING btw), I think this will be a great way to re-read the series! =)
I prefer hardcovers over soft covers, but the compendium are cheaper than buying the hard cover volumes individually, plus like you I do want to read some of the extra content.
This video answered a lot of questions as I've been on the fence regarding which one to buy...you did a fantastic job sir ..instant sub and greetings from Liverpool, England..!!!
@@teacomics no probs..I ended up buying the compendium after this review but I loved the story and artwork so much I ended up getting the deluxe editions as well..!!
Awesome video. About to buy the compendium. Here in Brazil if I buy the translated versions the 9 vols will be almost 300 bucks more than the compendium. If I buy one English deluxe hard cover it's only 20 bucks from the price of the compendium. It's crazy how the compendium has the best value
After reading compendium one, what would the next book be? I’m still kind of confused how the volumes play into the compendium but I really want to keep going!
Thanks a lot for this, I was wondering if I should buy it because it has way much more pages than the usual omnibus yet it's a lot smaller, I thought it was going to be an issue, but it's really not, it's amazing for the price, definitely gonna buy the compendium.
Thank you. This is my favourite comic but I’ve only read a few, was thinking of buying the Compendium.. now I know I want/need it and the hard covers lol. Damn it.
Bought the compendium last week and it's not bad easier to read than a hardcover but if into collecting get hardcover it'll look nice on a shelf. Or just both lol Life's too short
Paper is superior in the hardcovers, definitely thicker and seems more durable. Compendium has thinner pages, but I would say while it's not the best it's also not terrible, and I haven't had any issues with them ripping or anything.
Yes...sort of. The cover art is there between each issue but the image does not take up the whole page. The cover image is about 2/3 of the page and is surrounded by white border and the chapter number (essentially the issue number) is written at the bottom of the page in text. I hope that makes sense. The oversized hardcovers do the same thing
Btw, how do you call those cards? In Puerto Rico we call them “briscas” or “barajas españolas”, which translates to “Spanish playing cards.” I think you could say the former is the name of the game we use them in and the latter is what the cards themselves are called.
I grew up calling these cards "Italian Cards". I checked Wikipedia and it looks like Spanish cards and Italian cards are both types of "Latin-suited cards". My grandparents were from Italy, we played a game called Scopa. Very cool to learn about Spanish cards!
Binding is pretty similar, wouldn't say one is much better than the other. The paper quality is thicker for the Invincible book, so that's better, but that's not to say that Saga's paper is terrible
Good question, I'm not sure, I've only held my copy which is a first print edition. If anyone else has a later printing please let us know if they changed the binding.
So it's the same scenario as the Skullkickers hardcovers - 1st one is sewn, 2nd is glued, 3rd is a weird mix. Quite disappointing. Thanks for the informative video.
It is strange why they change the binding of theses books for each volume. I've never seen the Skullkickers hardcovers but it sucks that it happened to those books too.
Man I wish everybody would do videos like you!
Just showing people what they need to know nothing more!
Perfect video dude👌🏼
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great video. Great job comparing all the different sizes and giving the necessary information to decide which to purchase.
Thank you :)
Just want to answer people's questions about the different formats.
Really appreciate you giving spoiler warnings, so many don't. Great overview.
Thanks! I've been spoiled before and would hate to do that to anyone.

I have the 3 Invincible compendiums. I love them. I will definitely buy the Saga compendium.
It's a nice book and an awesome read. Enjoy!

I just try to answer all of the questions I had before buying these books. I figured other people would likely have the same questions.

I'm so glad to see everyone thanking you for this video. I'd also like to give my thanks :)

@@robbieduffy9998 that's great! Seeing that artwork in oversized hardcovers is wonderful.
Thanks for a great review! Exactly what I needed before buying.

Hey man when are you coming back? Loved your video
Thanks for this
Helped me decide. Gonna buy the hard covers.
Cool!
I hope you enjoy them, they look great on the shelf.

Yes the compendium is by far the best value!
Enjoy your book!

Man! I Loved your video, great hug from Brazil
Obrigado!
Thanks for the comparison shots
No problem!
Do you know if they ever fixed the volume two? Many thanks for your great vid. Cheers
Sorry, I'm not sure. I've never checked out any newer printing of it. If anyone has a newer printing and knows please comment.
whats wrong with it?
This was super useful for me. Thanks a lot!

Thank you. 👍
I finished reading this compendium also it was amazing ,
Glad you enjoyed it. I agree it is amazing!
7:00 what issue is that from for reference? I want to check what it looks like in the volume I have. Thanks
Its from issue 10
@@teacomics thanks!
just ordered this from amazon for 20 5 bucks , hope it comes in good condition
Great deal.
Hope it's in great shape!
@@teacomics thanks me too, ill do an unboxing on my 2nd channel
Is the family getting hunted by bounty hunters the main storyline of this?
how does the page quality compare between the compendium and the hardovers?
Paper is superior in the hardcovers, definitely thicker and seems more durable.
Compendium has thinner pages, but I would say while it's not the best it's also not terrible, and I haven't had any issues with them ripping or anything.

The compendium has all the original covers?
Yes...sort of. The cover art is there between each issue but the image does not take up the whole page. The cover image is about 2/3 of the page and is surrounded by white border and the chapter number (essentially the issue number) is written at the bottom of the page in text.

Binding and quality wise which one do you think is better, this or invincible compendium.
Binding is pretty similar, wouldn't say one is much better than the other.

Do all volume 2 printings come with a glued binding or have they changed that?
Good question, I'm not sure, I've only held my copy which is a first print edition. If anyone else has a later printing please let us know if they changed the binding.

Good job 👏
Now would be a good time to upload some more videos ;)
I want too.
I have a few other books I'd like to go over but life gets busy. Hopefully soon.
Definitely not getting this, extras are a huge part of the book, g r eat video helped me decide ☺
Glad it could help
das a big book rite der....
The hardcover version seems better
Hardcovers are awesome for sure. I do like the compendium for the amount of content you get for the price.
Is the volume cover art in either the books or the compendium?
