You probably will mention this in a later video, Justin, but muting both the 1st and 6th strings is not always a bad thing. Doing so makes the chord completely "movable" for playing D7, E7, etc. further up the neck. To mute or not to mute is the player's choice. But I get it... for now (for a beginner's C7 lesson), not muting the 1st string is preferable. 😇
