awesome show Hans! we've had Bitlong on our hit list for a few months and now we're inspired... hope your finger got better... damn sharp knives! LOL cheers Sven & Troy
This week double party, 2 movies from the drunken bbq. 😀👍Fantastic man, your dried meat recipe. And the cats got the fat, they had a feast too. 🎉Cool that you built your drying oven yourself, and explained to us how to make it. Many thanks, and see you next, cheers🍺
Hey man, really like your energy in the video. I have one question and one comment. Firstly, biltong IS NOT jerky. If you have ever had both of them, you will know that. Also the curing process for the 2 are different. My question is why did you add water to your mix? you should never add water to your biltong mix, since the vinegar is used to kill the bacteria in the meat while it is drying. I make biltong myself, and just wanted to ask and point out. But once again, great video.
I basically dilute the vinger with some water, why I don’t know as its what the recipe calls for and its working for me. 100% with you that biltong is not the same jerky but amongst the dried meat snack biltong is king. Here in Canada not many people know biltong.
@@TheDrunkenBBQ yes i know many people do not know biltong. Strange that the recipe will call for water, since dilution of vinegar is bad in this case. Just glad to see you putting out the content and to help introduce this snack to more people. Keep it up.
@@TheDrunkenBBQ yes its same, and you need to cut the fish from upper side not from lower and you must not wash the blood after open the fish to sure the the best taste for it
Builtong is dried meat, often beef. In North America is usually thin sliced, marinated and then called jerky. In South Africa they dry the meat with herbs and thicker cuts (like 1” steak) and then its called biltong.
@@TheDrunkenBBQ thanks for the reply mate. I'm asking because eye of round is pretty affordable where I am, so I'm gonna try this one day. Looks bloody good!
@@jappojappy No worries, happy to help. Shoot a line when you want to know more. Eye round was also what i had and so used, a bit of fat isn’t to bad but o would keep the steaks a little lean.
These boxes work pretty good. Simple and efficient. Be aware of drilling through the plastic as it cracks before you know it (but then you just glue it again).🔥👍
Nice job 👍🏻. Rub looks good. Awesome box.👍🏻✌🏻
Thanks for your support my friend, this was a fun thing to do for sure🍻🔥👍

Fantastic video! I need to try these someday soon!
These are awesome snacks, they go great with a beverage ore just when you’re on the road. 🍻👍
Great video my friend!🍺
Thanks for your support my friend, this is not a quick cook but it gives you a great snack👍
That's good jerky!😋
This is a great snack. Thanks for your support 👍
Awesome idea! I will need to try this!
This is a great all time snack🍻👍
Very good! Awesome video!
Thanks, it was a time consuming video to make but the end was an awesome snack. 🍻👍
Great idea. I can now have meat sticks for a snack rather than carrots. Lol
Forget the carrots, they’re old school. Dried meat is the new 2022🎉🔥👍
i recommend you to do almaskof which it very very popular iraqi traditional meal for carb fishes and you will not regret doing it so much times
Thanks for the suggestion, going to check it out. Just had a quick look and it looks delicious 🔥🔥👍
Quick question. Is almaskof the same as masqouf?
@@TheDrunkenBBQ yes its same, and you need to cut the fish from upper side not from lower and you must not wash the blood after open the fish to sure the the best taste for it
@@TheDrunkenBBQ use logs of wood for it, not commercial charcoal to ensure of best taste
@@TheDrunkenBBQ final thing i reccomend u to use fresh fish not old fishes that stored in freezer or market so long time
You should try making it the right way. You’d really like it
I make this many different ways, love biltong. Thanks for your support to the channel, happy new year and keep on grilling 🔥👍
I've always been curious on what biltong is ever since Richard Hammond ordered it in a pub.
