Causeway Bus Station (14)

- The final formal bus station for the playlist, with really doesn't deserve its current title of a bus station due to its badly unique properties, the previous name of Victoria Park TRANSFER Station was more fitting (which I refer to in this video since the name was changed on the 28th of January 2024).
This video marks an extremely major milestone for this channel, with me now having created an online video for EVERY SINGLE transit station on the network (train and bus), in just under three years time!
Please note that a lot of the bus routes passing through this bus station have changed since the filming date with the opening of the Airport Line. Check out this playlist to see the end of all the old routes and the operation of the new ones too: • [To Be Remembered #1] ...
They have changed again with the Armadale Line Shutdown starting, with routes 221, 230 and 907 also passing through. Check out this bus spotting video to see those routes operating along Shepperton Road: • Armadale/Thornlie Line...
Filmed on: 26/08/2022.
Congradulations on completing the videos of all the bus stations. I really enjoyed them. You did a great job.
The entrance at 2:05 is currently closed, so in order to enter or leave the station from that side, you have to go the other way, so instead of having one set of pedestrian lights, you can potentially have up to 6 sets of pedestrian lights, it's pretty bad if I'm honest. Can take potentially around 5+ minutes to get into the station from the park if you legally cross the roads.
Wouldn't be so bad but it's been closed for three weeks at this point.
Perhaps when we come over from UK you can give us a guided tour of the tiger bus routes cheers Keith uk be may be next spring
Tiger? What? I am not a tour guide service??
Sorry cat bus service
What a series this has been, well done
We still have a lot of bonus episodes afterwards.
@@TransportofPerth Thanks you for all this planning and content ❤
I guess they would also need to add the second as it’s so frequent. Also you can say that’s it’s a hut station for buses.
Well, they can't be that precise. But yeah it is a pretty trash station.
Fun fact, should the light rail project that the previous government have actually gone ahead I'm sure the station would have been a terminus point for most busses for people to transfer onto the light rail into perth.
Unfortunately the light rail project did not go ahead as the government at the time scrapped it and decided to have high frequency busses instead.
I suspect the station was intended to be a stopgap solution that became permanent.
Info on the light rail project that was scrapped here:-
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro_Area_Express_(Perth)
I think the light rail idea would have been a good idea as it would have meant busses don't have to go through the city as they can sometimes get caught in traffic within Perth causing busses to be late.
That said I have no idea where they would layover terminating busses in that proposal.
You linked the MAX light rail which was being planned for in 2016. This station has been opened since the late 1990s.
@@TransportofPerth Yep but that 2016 plan does explain why the station has remained mostly unchanged since it opened in the 1990's, the station would have looked very different today if the light rail plan had gone ahead.
I'm unsure what future plans they have for the station, maybe they could do some BRT but as you say, better to not have people transfer here if they can avoid it due to your poor rating.
Despite your criticisms in the video the station does have very good frequency (especially in the Perth direction) so I doubt people typically linger at the station for more than a few minutes anyway.
the causway bus station
Yeah gonna have to rename it after the 28th lol
@@TransportofPerth I wonder now cause it's a BS the destos will say 'via Causeway Bus station' or routes will terminate there.
@@Renault1129 There are no changes to the routes stated it is a terrible place to terminate.
I wonder why they'd name it transfer station. yes, i get that u can transfer from train to bus or bus to train but it sounds like 'garbage landfill'
Um no you can not transfer to a train this is nowhere near Victoria Park Train Station. It's called Transfer Station because it is the meeting point of all routes using the Causeway to head into the city, with no routes actually terminating there. The station also doesn't really serve anything around it and has poor pedestrian access, so it really is just a place to switch buses without going into the city.
@@TransportofPerth oh sorry
ooh what is this secret bus station!
Secret?
@@TransportofPerth haha ok. excited for it!
At last the ship has come to a halt. We coming away knowing that we are stronger and better knowing we have learned something from our great journey…. But sadly all good things must come to and end.
Since when were you so enthusiastic?
@@RealTacheYT wdym?
Since when were you so autistic?
How I hate this bus station alot... It's basically a train station on road
Yeah I showed a lot of frustration towards it in the video lol.
It would've been hard to direct routes to the train stn tho
No one was talking about that???
@@watransprotobservations I'm not talking about VPS
I'm saying how VPTS is a train station but on road
@@RXTransit I hate vpts
