Can the splitter work for audio? My scenario is my monitor has one hdmi going into the ps5. I need another hdmi so my soundbar can connect to my monitor as well.
For this scenario, you could use an audio extractor that has HDMI audio only out. The splitter splits both audio and video, however our splitters do an EDID check on the output, so if it doesn't detect a device that takes a video signal, just audio, it may not work.
So what do I use if i have two mac, one newer, one older, to two monitors that I want to use simultaneously? So two sources, used independently, connected to two monitors. I am told I need a KVM, but is a splitter an option?
A splitter will only allow you to duplicate one source to different displays. For your setup, you would benefit from a KVM switch with 2 inputs and multiple outputs so that you can toggle, switch, and control whichever source you would like. Also a splitter only duplicates one source at a time and you want to be able to see both sources and control independently. Nice job! Thank you!
now, what about if i want to extend the display of my laptop to 2 monitors? is that "adapter?" Just wanna make sure I have the right term.
The device that would assist you with splitting the display of your laptop to two monitors, or displays would be an HDMI Splitter.
Thanks! 🙂
