Thanks for a great video actually explaining and showing sympathetic hand movement. I’m a steel challenge competitor and one of our toughest targets is a 10” plate at 18 yards. I would be inconsistent on this plate under speed. Your video has helped me isolate the culprit…the bird finger. Makes total sense now.
5:15 @ this time mark, i would just like to add an anecdote i just learned in regard to building your grip. I believe this was originally from Haley Strategic: when building your grip, think of it like crushing an apple. If i placed an apple in your hands (formed like you are gripping the gun), your hinge point would not be at your palms, ever. Your hinge point is at fingertips. You crush the apple (your grip) with your pads of your hand. Keep that consistent and with your support hand doing most of the crushing it and build the start of your grip that way. When you shoot consecutive rounds, like in a bill drill, keep in mind where your grip starts to loosen up. And from that point, remind yourself to keep crushing the apple. Hope i explained it well enough and this helps someone.
Hey Will, any thoughts on building the grip from the draw? Are you clamping and vising as is, or some rotating going on? Curious to hear your thoughts on this
@@txcholsters a draw video coming? 😬 Thanks for getting back to me, I think what I was trying to say when you marry your hands together under the trigger guard are you then clamping on your grip? Similar how you were talking about actively pursuing fingers to pad or are you rotating your support hand into position? Hope my question made sense
How much thought (if any) do you give to your wrists? A lot of instructors stress "locking the wrists," although I find this to be a somewhat nebulous concept.
Guns do not make you a better shooter. But, certain guns can be exploited more easily. Think of it like this- You put an F1 driver in a stock Camaro, he will drive that car to IT’S limit. If you put that F1 driver in the F1 car designed around him, he will drive to HIS limit. Guns are not the pursuit until you can exploit the differences. Not mask your performance. Hope that helps! -Will
Holy smokes 💨
This is the BEST grip video on UA-cam. Hope more people get to see this
Appreciate it!!! We hope so to!!

Excellent, clear and helpful. Thanks
absolutely love this series and always look forward to the next video
Crazy good description of what the bird finger does. Been a competitive shooter for a while and never knew this.
Yep. It’s finger bad! In all seriousness, it’s the thing we can pay attention to that will show right away that we have misguided tension.
I just discovered you bro! Very well articulated explanation! Subbed!!!
Great video. Gonna be implementing this next range session
Great video
Great video brother! Best Holsters out there hands down!!!
Great explanation and thank you for breaking it down and taking it slow with visuals. Manny talk about grip but fail to show how it's set up! Amen!

Thank-you for this reaffirming my last class. Support hand being a bi#=/.

I do not subscribe to locking wrist stuff. No thumbs forward. None of that silly goose stuff. Not necessary. -Will
