A lot of viewers probably do not appreciate the fact that the Berlin scene is an homage to the German silent films, specially The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
Whenever I am reminded of this movie - Miss Joanna Pettet is the FIRST person who comes to mind. SPECTACULAR! Beauty, with a very cool British wit. Yup, she stays with you. Very glad that you remember her as well!
One of the most stunning scenes in film IMHO. Would love to see this on a big screen - the colours, lighting, cinematography, choreography and the score combine amazingly
Joanna Pettet was fucking gorgeous! She looked like an English Sharon Tate, which is appropriate as - according to Quentin Tarantino - they were best friends
I think this was one of the coolest parts in the movie: gorgeous Pettet, that London taxi driver asking for fish n chips in West Berlin, the switch between 'capitalist' and 'communist' music...
Because although it's got some cool parts and amusing scenes, as a film it's just a complete mess. The budget was astronomical (much larger than any of the actual Bond movies back then), so of course it looks fancy and is chock full of cool set pieces and celebs of the day, but that's about it. When you actually sit down and try to watch the entire movie start to finish, the plot is complete and utter garbage and you get pretty bored of the whole circus very quickly.
As usual, Anna Quayle delivers 200% to her role. I love how she lightly strokes her scar as she compliments Pettet. And her eyes have just the right touch of manic bulge.
Anna played wonderful roles and all to a tee!! ever seen her in Chitty Chitty Bang bang. OMG dressed in a tight corset while her evil husband tries to kill her.
Fun Fact: Joanna Pettet was close friends with Sharon Tate, and was at her home on Cielo Dr. for Sharon's baby shower just hours before the Manson family mudered all 5 people there that night.
This belated Marx Bros. mess of a movie gets more funny each time I watch it. Joanna ended up with Alan Bates, appropriate. Frau Hoffner (Anna Quayle) guests in The Avengers, look it up, she's great.

My favorite part of the movie'/!!!
She was the best bit of the movie, she stole every scene she was in!
Agreed
the music is awesome
Why do people castigate this film so much. It is a true classic. People will watch it long after the dreadful modern versions are forgotten.

Fantastic Joanna 💖💖💖
She is great just saw her in British series Thriller Brian Clemens

@Baker Jordan A preliminary look-see seems very promising. Many thanks.

She is superb. My favorite lines from the whole film: "You are insane, my child, quite insane." "I think she's right!"
8:03 Polo: The Little Mata Hari! I told you she come back!!
"Your monthly paychecks went on analysts' fees."
In 2006 Casino Royale, the Berlin Wall was already down!
Who directed this incredible sequence?
Beautiful (Miss Pettet,not Mr Niven;)
Great write-up. Agreed.

This & What's New, Pussycat? perfect Charles K. Feldman double bill.
1:43 Sir James Bond: Oh, I haven't felt that in a while.
Ronnie Corbett is in this clip
Cool it Charlie
Marta, I am your father! Seriously, this dance scene was an aural/visual masterpiece in the middle of an incredibly awful movie IMO.
RIP Bernard Cribbins. He was seemingly the only sobre person involved in the film.
Here we have the coding and decipher class.
A good spy is a pure spy...
I refuse to be devoured by symbols of monarchy!
Why the heck was Joanna Pettet never put into an actual Bond film?
i have never heard about this James bond movie. how come is has never been distributed.
It came out in the 60s, and was my favorite film for the longest time.
They're now on dvd & blu ray. I have 2 copies
この場面の音楽大好き🍀😌🍀
As the British would say:
She's a nice bit of crumpet.
