@@JessesAuditoriumnd that’s everyone’s reaction to THAT information 😂. He was in an emo band called Sleeping with Sirens, haven’t listened to them since middle school though. No idea if he did other stuff
More like why don't they go this hard when making the actual game. This is the best sonic game in years (excluding sonic mania as that wasn't made by SEGA) and yet it still has a multitude of problems.
Tomoya Ohtani was super proud of putting an 8-string guitar on the soundtrack, which is weird considering Ohtani is the synth hiphop guy from SA2. He's an incredibly versatile composer. Boss themes and the main theme "I'm Here" are like this. (I love I'm Here btw)
Note: It was a 9-string guitar, I think it might be the first game to do so now that I think about it. Still, to have them pull off a soundtrack like this is just unreal - every time I listen to it, I've always pictured it just being about Sonic in all aspects.
Oh definitely. I highly recommend checking out the Sonic 06 and Sonic Unleashed soundtracks, some of Ohtani's best non-synth work comes from those two games!
his most recent works are very synth EDM-type heavy but the dude has always been making a variety of tracks in different genres. lots of people dont realize that he also composed a good chunk of Sonic 06 and Unleashed which have more strings with some DnB slapped on top. he also helped compose the main themes for both of the games.
Everyone’s favorite people in the Sonic team are Crush 40 but for me it’s Ohtani. Wrote this ost which is my favorite, but also rooftop run (my favorite level theme). He also arranged reach for the stars (my 2nd favorite vocal track) and then he and a band were responsible for the Sonic ultimate version of reach for the stars (my favorite vocal track). His same band covered Endless Possibility (one of my favorites). The dude just arranges music that I adore.
I was telling my metalhead coworker about the music in this game and my lead in was basically "do you know what Sonic the Hedgehog and Sleeping With Sirens have in common?" And it blew his mind
Sonic’s always balanced being this very marketable mascot character, while also having this far “edgier” side to him, for lack of a better word. Games like Adventure 1/2, Black Knight, Unleashed- Tell stories with a lot of legitimate depth to them, and with games like these, Sonic’s grown this very stylish edge to him. It’s very shonen-y. Sega neglected that side of Sonic for a very long time, but Frontiers feels like it’s equal parts “a breath of fresh air” and “a return to form” for what the large majority of hardcore Sonic fans have grown to love the series for. The plot is somber, it deals with the concept of growth, mortality, and what it truly means to be remembered- and yet it’s been decades since these characters have even felt like themselves, and not just Mario-style mascots. It’s so refreshing, and the soundtrack is a reflection of this. The music goes all over the place, from these beautiful, somber, sweeping orchestral movements, to fast-paced, bombastic-yet-gritty 2010s style EDM, to the intense heavy metal of the boss/main themes, to even mournful piano ballads. Frontiers may not be perfect, but for all it does well it is an amazing game, and a stunning love-letter to the fans. I have never had as much faith in the series as I do now, and I can’t wait to see if you’ll do any more Frontiers’ reactions, as theres so much to enjoy within its OST.
Sonic has always had rock songs for it's soundtracks, but they've never reached this level of ambition. Incredible? Absolutely. Knight of the Wind and Endless Possibilities are just examples of how good the rock format works for him. But it wasn't until Undefeatable that it showed how ambitious SEGA really wanted to be with Frontiers. Going as far to get Sleeping With Sirens involved
Undefeatable solidified in my mind that literally NO GENRE is off-limits when it comes to Sonic music. I look forward to the day they try some more obscure genres, like shoegaze or like math rock or something. Shit would be tight.
@@purplecyanblack3805 Not saying that I don't like it, I love Lo-Fi and literary listen to that Lo-Fi song you hear when fishing with Big all the time. I just find it really weird (In a good way).
You know Sonic isn't messing around when this is the first boss theme. He's a man on a mission, and giganto was the perfect roadblock to display what his resolve looked like
Undefeatable has quickly become one of my favourite Sonic boss themes, Kellin Quinn killed it with his vocals on this track and the other Titan themes. With how hype Undefeatable is, you’d think it would be for a late game boss, but instead Tomoya Ohtani (the composer) decided to go hard on the first major boss instead.
Believe it or not, it's not *completely* unprecedented for Sonic to have guest musicians like Kellin Quinn. Back in the day, Johnny Gioeli was a hard rock vocalist for Hardline and Axel Rudi Pell, and it shows when you hear his vocals in What I'm Made of, Live & Learn and Never Turn Back; and in Sonic & the Black Knight, Marty Friedman, the lead guitarist for Megadeth, and Emma Gelotte and Tinna Karlsdotter, the vocalists from All Ends, collabed with Gioeli on the final boss song With Me; they also got Jared Riddick from Bowling for Soup to do Endless Possibility, the theme for Sonic Unleashed. Also, they got Tyler Smyth from Danger Kids to work on tracks for 2 Sonic games before this, and he was an opener for Sleeping with Sirens iirc, as well as collabed with Quinn on Find Your Flame for this game.
Now imagine this playing as you're going up against 200 foot robot. He slammed you against a wall a few hours into the game, and you're right back in its face now. But now you hold all the power. And you're refusing to back down. Actual life-changing experience
The whole Sonic Frontiers soundtrack is actually very diversified :] The big metal themes are for Boss-fights only and they stand out a lot. But the game is actually filled with other genres like EDM (that is for the short "fast-paced" levels set in a digital dimension), and more orchestral music using a bunch of diverse instrument for the open-wold area! IMO the themes of the islands (open-zones) are really overlooked as a whole and people usually go for the big vocal themes and the EDM music. Hoping you will eventually make the other Boss-themes!
agreed, it's sad that hardly anyone give the island themes any love, I made a playlist with all of them to put on shuffle, and they're the perfect white noise while reading something (though Rhea Island sticks out with how intense it is)
I love the soundtrack and my favorite song from this soundtrack is in fact an island movement. For me the first 2 favorite songs are: Kronos island 4th mvt. and Rhea Island.
It's really just the Boss Fights that are like this. And this song just has one vocalist, which was indeed Kellin Quinn (A dude btw). There are two more songs that are in the backlog, that feature Kellin. The rest of the soundtrack goes for a different vibe. Also. Tomoya Ohtani (The Composer) said parts of Frontiers' Ost, use a 9-String guitar. Kinda have a feeling we know what parts now.
the feeling of absolute SHOCK everyone had when they discovered this was the theme of the -first boss-, even as long time fans of the games, was amazing, it was like, a collective 'WHAT' because of how different it was from every other vocal track in a Sonic game to date, though we all agreed it was an incredible piece of music. My personal favourite is actually Break Through It All, but Undefeatable is a close second! Thank you for reacting to it, this was cool, you looked like you had a lot of fun with it! :)
It's About Damn Time, "Breath Of The Sonic May Cry: Revengeance", had its daybew. Also without spoilers: Undefeatable: The best right off the bag. Break Through It All: The best after multiple listens. Find Your Flame: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance successor.
Crazy thing: This is the first area's final/major boss. Crazier thing: The gameplay goes as hard as the music. Craziest thing: _ALL_ the major bosses are like this. xD Except the final-final one for some reason
So what this fight actually is: You fly through the sky in Super Form while beating the ever-loving crap out of a legit mountain-size boss in a Devil May Cry-esque combat system. Except you are free-flying. I shit you not. Sonic has ascended with this game. xD
@@stephaniejohnson5361That is a topic that was analyzed and talked about really well in Al the boi's video on Leitmotiffs in Sonic games. That video is amazing and i recommend it when the topic is about Sonic music.
Sonic's musical coverage is always a piece of musical trends among teens of the respective times. Back during the old SEGA days, it was a very synth-heavy pop/funk mix, which fit the late 80's/early 90's perfectly. With the transition to 3D, Sonic was reframed into a rock direction, aligning with the rock and metal craze of the early 2000's that eventually culminated with a wave of emo rock and nu metal lasting to this day. But Sonic Frontiers followed the rise of metalcore and alternative metal that we're seeing right now. The songs are never trendsetters, but they're prime examples of great music with a strong sense of style and fun. And Frontiers went above and beyond once again in delivering a style of music you never would've associated with Sonic, but it just works amazingly well! I can honestly recommend the other vocal tracks, especially "Break Through it All"!
My jaw hit the *floor* when this music came on during my playthrough of this game. As soon as the fight was done, I was immediately hitting the internet to try and find the track. Sonic has had some intense music before- His World (Zebrahead version) and Infinite's theme, for example, are meant to hammer into you- but full on heavy metal like this was just such a jaw-dropper for me. I truly adore the boss music in this game, they just do not miss.
This is THE Sonic Frontiers songs. Already as iconic as some of the Adventure theme songs and more, it sounds on the first boss battle which is a giant titan unlike anything seen outside of previous Sonic boss battles and it's even heavier than stuff like Metal Gear Rising. Long live Sonic
The Sonic Frontiers soundtrack is so incredibly diverse, there is so much too unpack! From the heart-pumping boss themes, to the melancholic island themes, to the more up-beat EDM-Style tracks of the cyberspace stages. I hope you react to more of this amazing soundtrack!
I’m genuinely dying laughing here. Add to that I actually am so happy that you enjoyed it so much. Like, HES A LITTLE BLUE HEDGEHOG WHO COLLECTS RINGS.
Happy to see you enjoyed it!! This track caught me super off-guard when I was playing the game for the first time, I was practically jumping from my seat while playing. 😂 I CANNOT wait for you to hear Breaking Through It All, it's my favorite boss track in the game. Undefeatable is fantastic and makes a great first impression, but Break Through It All was the kind of heavy stuff I didn't know I needed to hear from a Sonic game, and the DRUMS on that one oh man. I did submit some Cyberspace tracks as well, so I look forward to that too! As others have mentioned, this game has a very diverse soundtrack. It's kind of hard to submit the island exploration themes since they're all orchestrated with seven movements for each island, changing movements every time you collect a Chaos Emerald on that island. But still, the movement OSTs are great too. You transform into Super Sonic at the end of each island, and get a kickass boss fight spectacle with great music.
Great to see you listening to Frontier's music! Frontiers, despite being relatively new, has already left a big impact. Sonic Team considers it the start of the "third generation" of Sonic games. It's broadly considered to the best game the series has had in a while and the soundtrack in particular has been widely praised even by Sonic standards. As others have mentioned, the ost for this game is very diverse with the metal tracks being specifically made for the bosses. Since Super Sonic hasn't been very prevalent in recent games, Ohtani wanted the boss tracks to be "powerful" and "iconic". Which, considering the game's ost titled "Stillness & Motion" hit #1 on Spotify in the US and #6 globally, is a goal I think he successfully attained.
FINALLY! Jesse, this is Ashton, one of your requesters. For years, I’ve been watching your channel and I wanted to give something back to you for all you’ve given me. Undefeatable is easily one of my favorite Sonic songs and I haven’t even played the game yet, I just love its soundtrack that much. Its lyrics make it an amazing power-trip song. This request was my thanks to you for being such a great entertainer for all these years. Keep up the great work!
it is well worth noting that the lyrics of this song are from the perspective of Sonic. you can see his cocky attitude from lyrics like "think I'm on 11 but I'm on a 9", and "I'm what you get when the stars collide". You feel his undying will from the lyrics "I'm hanging on to the other side, I won't give up 'till the end of me". This song is not something you would expect from a Sonic game (neither are the other boss themes for that matter), but this song is nonetheless pure Sonic
personally, I think the best way to experience the boss themes is hearing them for the first time in-game. shortly before this, you would've only heard some somber overworld music and a few Cyberspace tracks that make your head bop, but then you get to the first boss and BOOM you're hit with THIS, and it rattles your brain a bit cause it came out of nowhere. I honestly love that it's really leaning toward that shock factor that immediately pumps you up and ready to throw hands (Sonic punches and kicks as his basic combo in this game). The boss themes are truly amazing and out of this world.
Exactly !!! I'd be down for a Frontiers playthrough tbh. It may not be the most polished game ever, but goddamn if the music ain't incredible. Truly the vibes ever. Man I love Frontiers.
at last, finally someone put this man onto sonic frontiers jams. Now we just need to get him to rock with the other songs and experience what he been missing
Frontiers has such a nice soundtrack, from the chill/erie open-zone ones to the metal scream-o esque boss themes, down to the drum and bass cyber space stages, hope you get to react to more of it!
My favorite line in this song is "You think I'm on 11, but I'm on a 9. Guess you don't really know me." It's like you can hear Sonic saying, "Oh, you thought THAT was fast? Wait 'til I start actually trying." And then just kicks on Super Sonic and takes off. SO sick.
I absolutely LOVE that concerned "Sonic?" At the start, I had the exact same reaction 😂 the cheery/rock tunes go to metal sounding tracks and its awesome
The first time I heard this, it blew me away! It's so high octane and just gets you hyped up. I also didn't know Kellin Quinn's voice was that high-pitched.
As far as i know this was one of the first times metal has found its way properly into a vocal theme for the sonic series and they nailed in immediately
I dunno… I guess it depends what you mean by metal… I don’t think they’ve had anything quite this heavy before, but I think you can argue that some of Shadow’s themes at least border on metal… I guess it might be hard rock… I’d need to listen again… And I guess if you mean during game play, I think most of those were cutscene/end credit songs… And most might be in Shadow’s game, so I suppose you could argue that it’s not a Sonic game exactly…
Kellin Quinn is one of my favorite vocalist. Always loved him in his band Sleeping With Sirens. When i heard this song for the first time last fall, i couldn't believe he did the Sonic Frontiers vocal tracks. Huge Sonic music fan, so it was like two of my favorite worlds colliding!
I jumped with joy at seeing the notification ! What a fantastic thing to wake up to !! Welcome to Sonic Frontiers, we have : djent/heavy metal, beautiful ambient orchestral, not-so-ambient orchestral and SO MANY different kinds of EDM, including freaking lo-fi of all things, and other hodgepodges of beautiful sounds with driving techno elements ! Hi ! Real quick word of advice : there's official SEGA uploads of the whole Frontiers OST on youtube, you should go with those ! There are some fan recordings that have some splicing errors, because all the boss tracks do phase transitions. If, or when, you do the other Frontiers boss themes, please try to go in order ! The order is Undefeatable ( you are here ), then Break Through It All, then Find Your Flame, then I'm Here ( which is also the main theme of the game ). There is a final final boss track, but while it's imo a fantastic track, it's not a lyrical song, and definitely not in the same style as the others, so people generally don't recommend it for reactions. It's called I'm With You, if you're ever interested in checking it out. You may also get requested to listen to One Way Dream, which is the true ending theme, and Vandalize by ONE OK ROCK, which is the normal ending theme and a licensed song, so not made directly for this game. Have a nice day Jesse ! Thanks for the treat !
The second "Break Through It All" and third "Find Your Flame" boss fight OST's will blow your mind even higher, bro! But whenever you're ready. Then again... I don't even have to see you react to it. You just need to hear it!
Sonic Frontiers goes HARD. Glad you enjoyed this. Gonna HEAVILY suggest Break Through It All and Find Your Flame, the other two main boss themes. I'd also suggest the Yesman10 music videos, since you can catch glimpses of the boss fight it plays over.
The contrast between this and not only past Sonic themes but also the much calmer area themes you hear for most of the game definitely give the boss tracks in Sonic Frontiers that "whoa" feeling
GREAT reaction dude. The Frontiers soundtrack is great and all of the boss themes are amazing, and when it comes to the levels, level 1-2 is a banger as well. Also love your use of the Battle Hub theme from Street Fighter 6 for the background music. It's so chill.
So happy you reacted to this! Sonic Frontiers is my favorite Sonic soundtrack, and is actually my favorite Sonic game currently. Stand out tracks are all the boss and mini boss tracks (especially Ghost), and the second movement of Ares Island.
this one was a long time coming, but your reaction is so great jessie :) i remember hearing this song in the game and being excited to hear your reaction lol
Tomoya Ohtani composed this song, as well as many of the stage themes! =) Oh, that upload certainly has some compression. Frontiers' OST is uploaded on UA-cam officially, so in case there's more Frontiers songs you'll react to, use those for the best audio quality! =D
I love Sleeping with Sirens Kellin Quinn has such an amazing voice I was so excited when I heard he was working on this game and all the boss music is fantastic!
One of my favorite things about this song and by extension the other songs is how easy it is to understand the lyrics. It's rare for a song of this nature to have actual lyrics you can comprehend.
Now to wait for Break through it All and Find your Flame, tracks that belongs to the other 2 major bosses and maybe I'm Here as well! I always enjoy your music reactions as well as the thoughts after it
Gush you say? Well alright. The song itself is amazing and it's no wonder that everyone was from the start screaming "undefeatable." however there's far more to it than that... Allow me to paint you the picture. Imagine yourself holding a bar representing your expectations from past sonic games. Even a bit worn out due to their recent losses. The bar is around.... waist level. Then this big gigantic mechanical monster just wanders over to you, grabs that bar from your hand, smashes it over it's knee and then starts BLASTING this theme song and starts fucking moshing. your mouth agape and just completely stunned. That is the feeling you get when you reach the point of this song. The tone of the game itself is very somber, as your uncovering and exploring the mystery of the island. Slow piano music and a rainy grass covered highland covered in ruins... Mysterious machines all about. You then get your first encounter with the boss and you get... ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED. A single stomp sends you flying, you try to do damage but even the sound of your attacks just feels like you're doing *nothing* to this guy. He then proceeds to grab you like the little shit you are and just DUMPSTERS you. "TFFF OOOH... Just... Just walk it off sonic just walk it o-.. Okay you know what sleeping is good to... Just don't move towards the light." After that you prepare for round two gathering the emeralds where all but one are found... And so you proceed onward only to find the boss has the emerald on it's head. And so you experience FIRST HAND HOW BIG THIS THING IS climbing it and mentally understanding the gravity of what your about to face.. you reach the head... pick up the emerald.. The music goes silent and you turn super... And then the camera pands out behind gigantio as super sonic descends.. All of us who saw it the first time were in shock and awe... And then as he is descending you hear the start of the strings, the "I'm hanging on to the other side..." And after that first bit he cracks a smile ready for round two... And then the music starts going OFF while the pop off menu pops up almost by design as everyone and I mean every person I've seen just stops whilst reading it and is just bewildered but then rushes through it and almost by design launches into the fight by the words "GO!" as it's screamed at you and you see a super sonic unlike before. All your moves are what you've done the entire game but blown up to an eleven. Energy fists are flying and everyone is like "HWHAHAHA WHAT!? IS THIS REAL!? AM I ALLOWED TO DO THIS!? IS SONIC PEAK AGAIN!?" And that first time you saw super sonic and the hype you felt as a kid rushes back as you just slap the ever loving piss out of giganto. I wouldn't say they are hard or easy. it's a bit of trial and error usually due to the ring limit and folks taking a bit of damage on the ascent and being on the super sonic clock. but the cinemetography along with the music, the stage inwhich your fighting, and the moves that you're pulling off, along with the sense of scale? It leads to an absolute incredible feeling that absolutely carried this game and is probably why people feel hope again. They can be a little jank but you accept it because what you see is so absolutely wild and cool that you love it inspite of it being a lil funky due to how unique it feels and just how well everything comes together. The giganto fight is genuinely the "Oh shit!" moment of frontiers that immediatly won people over in this game. It set the stage for this game and quickly shifted the mentality that people had for frontiers. I mean hell the issue's I thought existed from the ign footage and my fears still ring true? and yet it's a 7/10 game I love like a 10/10. It made me love video games again after so much FOMO burn out. There's one qoute that I feel like fit's the boss fights in this game. "This has big 2002 AMV energy and I'm absolutely here for it." they somehow captured that time period and put it into a game both spiritually and mechanically... The counter parry's are SO FREAKING JUICY. You feel like a freakin rock star all through out these bombastic boss fights. Everyone seems to love find your flame more (third theme) but man undefeatable and giganto absolutely paved the fucking road. The one time where I feel like the cinematic trailer and the game live up to one another.
Sonic frontiers has a phenomenal soundtrack from rock to dubstep to orchestrated over world themes it is amazing I was looking forward to this reaction and I love it👍🏿
Awesome to see you finally reacted to this song Jesse and glad you enjoyed it. Now, it'll be interesting to see you react to Find Your Flame, which does have dual vocals in it. I could be wrong, but from my understanding or at least from the bits I've read and seen online. Tomoya Ohtani, who's one of the main Sonic music conposers and who composed this game. He writes and does all the music (not sure if he has other artists' come in and help with song writing or not as I could never find that imfo). On more then one occasion though he will typically bring in guest vocals to sing, I'm also not sure if it's a case that he sends them the track and has them write lyrics that they feel can go with the song or if he already has lyrics written.
I was wondering when you'd react to this one haha, guess that request list really is packed huh? Seriously though, if you can, react to the other boss themes as well, they're all on the same level of insane quality, it's criminal that this game never got any awards for its music.
At this point, the music industry has to understand that being asked to do Sonic music is their chance to go absolutely apeshit for a brand new audience of millions. Because there is no other explanation for why Sonic music goes so hard. These bands come in with the expectation they will go the hardest they ever have just to live up to the past.
Hope you decide to do the rest of the boss themes! The whole soundtrack is banger, but the boss themes CARRY the game. The fights, the atmosphere, the sound design, the animations, ALL of them are an experience.
Been a Sonic fan since the 90's, never thought I'd see djent style metal in a Sonic game. Absolutely wild, even if it isn't my personal favorite of the songs in the game. Also if you're interested, check out one of my favorite covers of Flying Battery Zone by LongestSoloEver, it's insanely good.
That's the difference between sonic songs vs Mario song, Mario makes it feel like you are fighting a boss while Sonic makes you feel like you are the boss
Time for the other 3 boss themes now😂, Find Your Flame, Break Through It All and I'm Here. Little Sonic history lesson. There are 3 eras of Sonic pretty much, the Classic Era (1991-1997), the Adventure Era (1998-2009) and the Meta Era (2010-2021). Classic is what you're familiar with, charming, mostly 2D adventures. Adventure Era is where they added an impressive amount of depth to their lore, attempted multi-game arcs (Shadow the Hedgehog's character arc begins in Adventure 2 and continues directly to Heroes then to Battle then to Shadow's own game and then 06, it is quite impressive for 3D platforming standards). Stories were darker and more mature, deaths were a thing, characters got much needed complexity, all in all the Adventure Era is usually regarded by fans as the most interesting one for that very reason, it is in a lot of ways the Era that gave Sonic most of his best moments as a franchise. The Meta Era was baby-like humor, generic stories and showcased a complete lack of identity for Sonic, usually it's regarded as the worst one pretty much universally. Frontiers kickstarts a new still unnamed Era for Sonic. Dark and mature tone, competent and complex voice direction for the actors, heavy reliance on lore once again (Meta Era barely gave us any of substance), characters are allowed to grow and evolve again and of course, the soundtrack. If there's any indication of what this new Era will be its Undefeatable, THIS is what Sonic will be for the next 10 years. It feels very Adventure-ish and pretty much everyone loves it, me included. Sonic Team have returned to what works.
If you you are going to hear “break through it all” and “find your flame” please do hear it from the channel DexysPrime, he have the best audio quality and he taking the songs from the album itself, the rest are just rip songs from the game itself.

You know Sonic isn't messing around when this is the first boss theme. He's a man on a mission, and giganto was the perfect roadblock to display what his resolve looked like
Don't you mean Hedgehog on a mission? Giganto is definitely the perfect one for this song and for Sonic to show his strength and seriousity.
Fun fact. The offical song on UA-cam has over 10 million views and also on Spotify.
16 mil now
20 mill
28 million now
The Titan bosses themes literally carried the whole ost album to top 10 US and worldwide Spotify ranking last year 😭
Undefeatable has quickly become one of my favourite Sonic boss themes, Kellin Quinn killed it with his vocals on this track and the other Titan themes. With how hype Undefeatable is, you’d think it would be for a late game boss, but instead Tomoya Ohtani (the composer) decided to go hard on the first major boss instead.
I just like seeing people’s initial reactions to this song because it’s almost always “this is insane”
lol it gets better when they learn this is the first boss in the game
Im suprised you forgot matty lewis and Ali Tabatabaee from zebrahead for his world
@thegeth4293 I think the wildest inclusion of an artist in a Sonic game is Akon in 06
Micheal Jackson worked on Sonic 3 and it's variations. They have always had star power.
Now imagine this playing as you're going up against 200 foot robot. He slammed you against a wall a few hours into the game, and you're right back in its face now. But now you hold all the power. And you're refusing to back down.
Actual life-changing experience
20 feet? Try like, 100 at the smallest
Sonic is such a joyous un-apologetic melting pot of genres. And like 99% of them are all amazing.
Hoping you will eventually make the other Boss-themes!
agreed, it's sad that hardly anyone give the island themes any love, I made a playlist with all of them to put on shuffle, and they're the perfect white noise while reading something (though Rhea Island sticks out with how intense it is)
Yes exactly !! I love the Island movements soooo much... All the music is fantastic in the game, but it's such a shame those get overlooked.
I love the soundtrack and my favorite song from this soundtrack is in fact an island movement. For me the first 2 favorite songs are: Kronos island 4th mvt. and Rhea Island.
@@andytuinman Of the island tracks I think Ouranos Island is my favorite ! But I often listen to all of them, so... yeah !
Truuee chaos island 7th movement is so beautiful
Also without spoilers:
Undefeatable: The best right off the bag.
Break Through It All: The best after multiple listens.
Find Your Flame: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance successor.
Boss battle included, for that last one
is this how daybew is written ? i thought it would be début like in french
Crazy thing: This is the first area's final/major boss.
Crazier thing: The gameplay goes as hard as the music.
Craziest thing: _ALL_ the major bosses are like this. xD
Except the final-final one for some reason
It's insane how much this song actually fits in game. Super sonic whaling on a giganto enemy with metal music
So what this fight actually is:
You fly through the sky in Super Form while beating the ever-loving crap out of a legit mountain-size boss in a Devil May Cry-esque combat system. Except you are free-flying.
I shit you not. Sonic has ascended with this game. xD
Up until this point, escape from the city was the 'The' Sonic song. And then came Undefeatable and finally it had some competition.
Open Your Heart is still the Sonic song to me.
@@fissilewhistle His world is the one for me. Makes me realize sonic has alot of songs that fit him perfectly
@@stephaniejohnson5361That is a topic that was analyzed and talked about really well in Al the boi's video on Leitmotiffs in Sonic games. That video is amazing and i recommend it when the topic is about Sonic music.
I would have said Live and Learn lol.
It was definitely live and learn
Kellin Quinn is such an amazing vocalist. Glad you enjoyed Undefeatable, Jesse! Can’t wait to see Find your Flame….
It is a toss up for me Between Undefeatable and Break through it all. Both are so good. They also both go with literally anything
I’m genuinely dying laughing here. Add to that I actually am so happy that you enjoyed it so much. Like, HES A LITTLE BLUE HEDGEHOG WHO COLLECTS RINGS.
And kills eldritch horrors on the regular.
That's not all he does.
Sometimes he rides a skateboard, or a hoverboard, or goes drag racing with his friends.

Not sure if I anyone else mentioned this but Sonic Frontiers' soundtrack was number 6 on Spotify when it came out not sure where it is now.
The fact this was made by Sleeping With Sirens lead singer is actually WILD
I love when jesse goes into a sonic song he never knows what he is going to get. Could be butt rock or a poppy upbeat number
All the boss titan themes are so good in this game. Break Through It All, Find Your Flame, and I’m Here are must listens for sure.
it is well worth noting that the lyrics of this song are from the perspective of Sonic. you can see his cocky attitude from lyrics like "think I'm on 11 but I'm on a 9", and "I'm what you get when the stars collide".
Oooooh this is gonna be GOOOD to see you do Sonic Frontier stuff!
Can't WAIT till he gets to "Find your Flame."
Oh HELL yeah. I'm so glad you're doing these.
I hope someone requested Break Through It All because that's my favorite of these boss themes.
My favorite line in this song is "You think I'm on 11, but I'm on a 9. Guess you don't really know me." It's like you can hear Sonic saying, "Oh, you thought THAT was fast? Wait 'til I start actually trying." And then just kicks on Super Sonic and takes off. SO sick.
All boss themes in Sonic Frontiers are amazing.. It really brings me back the older 3D Sonic games from the 2000s with this kind of vibe. 😇
I've learned how to scream because of this sound track. My voice hasn't been the same since. Love this track and the others they're just so tasty!!!
This is the secound metal music of the history of Sonic

2:06 honestly everyone’s reaction when that GO happened
I absolutely LOVE that concerned "Sonic?" At the start, I had the exact same reaction 😂 the cheery/rock tunes go to metal sounding tracks and its awesome
Sonic just has peak music.
The first time I heard this, it blew me away! It's so high octane and just gets you hyped up. I also didn't know Kellin Quinn's voice was that high-pitched.
Been waiting a while for this one. It's the top track from your list (thats not one of mine) that I wanted you to react to. Didn't disappoint!
Infinites theme?
I am all of me
I'd say shadows and infinites are more on the hard rock side than metal. Although infinite's gets close
This soundtrack hit the top 10 on spotify and I assume now you know why.
Finally! Been waiting to see you experience this, now onto the other, more intense boss tracks!
Has nobody got him to listen to 'Infinite' from Sonic Forces?
The second "Break Through It All" and third "Find Your Flame" boss fight OST's will blow your mind even higher, bro! But whenever you're ready. Then again... I don't even have to see you react to it. You just need to hear it!
I hope one day you will react to Sonic Unleashed's egg dragon theme, it is one of my favorite themes and one of the best boss themes that Sonic has
Sonic Frontiers goes HARD. Glad you enjoyed this.
Gonna HEAVILY suggest Break Through It All and Find Your Flame, the other two main boss themes. I'd also suggest the Yesman10 music videos, since you can catch glimpses of the boss fight it plays over.
Omg we're finally here this is not a drill!! Thanks Justin and thanks for choosing this. I was SHOOK 😂
Another song in this game is Break Through It All and it's probably the song that goes the hardest imo, good stuff.
Imagine going back in time to tell your younger self that this is a song in a Sonic game 😂
this one was a long time coming, but your reaction is so great jessie :) i remember hearing this song in the game and being excited to hear your reaction lol
I’ve been listening to Sleeping With Sirens for like 10 years now, and i remember i also thought Kellin Quinn was a woman at first lol
Tomoya Ohtani composed this song, as well as many of the stage themes! =)
Oh, that upload certainly has some compression.
Please tell me Break Through It All is following soon, this OST is incredible
Alternative title: "That Music When You Axe-Kick A Skycraper-Sized Boss Into The Earth's Crust (And It's Not Just A Cutscene)"
IVE WAITED SO LONG FOR HIS REACTIONS TO THESE SONGS!! I REALLY HOPE HE REACTS TO THE OTHERS
Now to wait for Break through it All and Find your Flame, tracks that belongs to the other 2 major bosses and maybe I'm Here as well! I always enjoy your music reactions as well as the thoughts after it
You need to listen to more from this game! Break Through It All, Find Your Flame, I’m Here, and Vandalize. This game has really good music.
Sonic frontiers has a phenomenal soundtrack from rock to dubstep to orchestrated over world themes it is amazing I was looking forward to this reaction and I love it👍🏿
Oh man i really hope you do break through it all while you’re at it
Awesome to see you finally reacted to this song Jesse and glad you enjoyed it.
Seriously though, if you can, react to the other boss themes as well, they're all on the same level of insane quality, it's criminal that this game never got any awards for its music.
oh and of course great reaction1 it was fun to see you have so much fun with it!
At this point, the music industry has to understand that being asked to do Sonic music is their chance to go absolutely apeshit for a brand new audience of millions. Because there is no other explanation for why Sonic music goes so hard. These bands come in with the expectation they will go the hardest they ever have just to live up to the past.
"Ha ha ha ha... *SONIC* ?"
It's so cute 😂
Hell yeah, this is what we were all waiting for 🔥🔥🔥
Hope you decide to do the rest of the boss themes! The whole soundtrack is banger, but the boss themes CARRY the game. The fights, the atmosphere, the sound design, the animations, ALL of them are an experience.
there is a saying in the fandom that even if the game isn't good, the music will always be good. and thats very true even today.
I've waited like a year for this, looking forward for the rest.
Literally every boss theme (and then some) in this game is a BANGER😎👍🏻
Ah !
I knew it wasn't going to be long before this one
Cannot wait for *Break through it all* now
Bro I don't even know what "think I'm on 11 but I'm on a 9" is supposed to mean but I know it goes hard af
That's the difference between sonic songs vs Mario song, Mario makes it feel like you are fighting a boss while Sonic makes you feel like you are the boss
You MUST react to the other 2 Boss Themes of this game
This song, Vandalize, and I'm Here are my favorite songs from the base game tbh
Aayy! Was was hoping you'd pick this one up!
