Part of the reason Shooting Star and Left Right blew up was XG Tape #2 Xypher. Cocona went viral for her part of the song. This caused a lot of reaction channels even those that don't cover k-pop to do reactions to XG. A lot of whom did deep dives into XG. And during this time Shooting Star and Left Right came out.
XG is basically a dance crew, a Hiphop supergroup, a vocal powerhouse all merged into one. They are insanely talented to say the least. Then you factor in their adorable personalities and goofiness. What's not to love about them? ❤
Yes these girls are oozing with so much confidence, charisma and energy.

I've said it before, just 2 songs and I realized that this is a super group or as their name means XG ( Extraordinary Girls ). A group to be reckoned with in 2024 and beyond (space reference),lol.
Fun fact, Left Right was just a B side song for Shooting star, but being hit as well, they also have the need to make its own MV for it
XG will headline Billboard's The Stage in Sydney in October.
Even they haven't K-Pop idol group inspire them, XG members have inspired from American R&B and HipHop artist like TLC, Beyoncé, Sole, Rihanna..etc.
They do like other K-Pop groups but the only K-Pop group they were really inspired by would be 2NE1.
Inspired and liking are 2 different things.

18:08 I LOVE when they all have matching outfits or hair styling you don't see a lot of groups do this anymore, also props to the stylist for always successfully using wigs and extensions and saving the girlies hair. YOU NEEEEEED TO CHECK OUT THEIR CHOREO, they have choreo videos for all of their songs they are amazing dancers
XGs first mini album comes out September 27th. So far they have had 3 pre-releases from it GRL GVNG, TGIF and New Dance. Yes Jurin is so cool before being the leader of XG she was a professional Snowboarder and model.

ohh since you love seeing the behinds and processes, i think you would love their docu. it's amazing, it spans from 5 years back all the way from auditions in 2017. it contains everything, from training to the conception of the songs, you'd also see some glimpses of the producers and songwriters. it's really good, the editing of the docu is also topnotch. you can tell this whole xg project came from a work of passion; from the trainees, the ceo and exec producer (simon) and down to every staff. all episodes are already out from EP X0 to Xinfinity, it's also all on youtube, free to watch.

Songs from Debut: Tippy Toes, Mascara, Shooting Star, Left Right. From there first new mini album "New DNA", which releases on the 27th of this month you can Pre order now they have two versions X & G they can be bought as a set, Grl Gvng (make sure to react to unofficial lyric video for full song), TGIF, and recently New Dance. All songs have Dance practices and some with live performances by XG.
They have XG Tapes(Focuses on rap line what made them blow up along side SS and LR) #1-3 with 3 having A and B, Cocona and Maya have a song called Show You Can for Street Woman Fighter 2 I recommend the lyric video and the actual performance by tsubakill but do it after all the Tapes.
They have XG Vox #1-5 (Focuses on Vocal Line)
They have XG Move #1-3 (I think going off of memory, they each have individual videos as well).
They have a documentary called Xtra Xtra showcasing Pre debut and a bit after which will continue for more (8 episodes hour long each)

Jurin was a Professional Snowboarder and also a Model before joining XG, she's also the Leader, so yeah she's cool.
XG does not have an album out yet but they are dropping their 1st ever mini album soon. They debuted March 18, 2022.
They have 3 other official songs, GRL GVNG, TGIF, NEW DANCE, that will be on their upcoming 1st mini album NEW DNA.

Hi Emily, I’m happy that you like XG. Yes, I know their stying is so cool!! Anyways, they’re releasing their first album ‘New DNA’ soon. 3 songs are already available (MV as well). XG is going to do their first own showcase in Japan on November 26th, and if you purchase the album you it comes with the code you can stream watch the showcase online.
If you really wanna dive into them, I recommend to watch their documentary XTRA XTRA. It’s intense, but you’ll be amazed for sure.
One performance I recommend to watch is their KCON LA performance with The Lab dancers (including Sienna Lalau). Yes, the same dance team as Rihanna’s Super Bowl Performance!! It was really cool.

Jurin is such an ace, her presence is everything, she is so talented. She is the leader although Chisa is older. Chisa is a ray of sunshine, she takes care of everyone and is super goofy. Welcome to XG! I think all ALPHAZ (XG’s fandom name) are very happy when someone new finds out about XG and enjoys their music. I hope you enjoy a lot of XG this week (and in the future!). This is a great time to get into them as their first mini-album drops in 9 days. I suspect you will especially like VOX #1 and #5 and New Dance from the new album, but that is just based on your reaction to the first 4 songs. XG has a very strong rap line and the dance practices (especially the fixed camera versions) show what good dancers they are (as you’ve seen from their music show performances). Looking forward to the next reaction!

They have 3 new songs out now and another 3 coming Sept. 27th all 6 are part of their Mini-album "New DNA" .
The songs out now are "GRL GVNG" (Girl Gang) There's an M/V that is shorter than the whole song so perhaps check a color-coded lyric video as well ( simply because the M/V is insane and they didn't have much else to capture to cover the rest of the song, so yeah, it's short). The theme of this is "Arrival"
"TGIF" 2nd song is themed around "Evolution"
3rd song "New Dance" is a very summer bop track with a theme of "Exploration"
These songs are pre-releases and serve as part of the Alien theme that XG has.

Love your reaction. PD Simon put together a beautiful Japanese dance crew with killer vocals/rap and Korean/English language skills. He got Avex to finance the project (think Warner Bros. and Disney in Japan). He is a former Kpop idol (BG DMTN) and also the child of Korean and Japanese parents - so he speaks Korean and Japanese fluently. He also grew up in the USA and loves American Hip Hop especially TLC and Aaliyah. There is a documentary about the formation of XG and shows how hard Simon pushed them to be the best - basically started their training as physically demanding as a BG so they could handle the dance crew hip hop choreo. XG is the best. 😉 Also, you get to see why Hikaru was so good on Girls Planet999. She trained with Simon and XG. 😉

IMO I don’t think any group (male or female) can really measure up to their choreography skills. Check out their dance practice videos if you get a chance (I recommend the fixed camera versions) ✌🏽
Btw the “super cool” one is Jurin the leader of XG, she was a professional snowboarder before she started training for the group…so yes, suuuper cool lol

As a fellow nctzen, I think you'll understand when I say... Harvey's rap tone reminds me of Haechan's vocal tone. 😄 It's just got that super unique quality.
My ults are NCT and Purple Kiss, but XG is SO close to joining their ranks... just need more songs. Somehow it just feels wrong to call them an ult with only 7 songs. 🤣🤣 But if the quality of music keeps going the way it is, absolutely! You should really check out their dance practices... they are always fun. In general, as a group, I have yet to see them not having an absolute blast and living their best life. Like, genuinely... it never feels forced.
Hopefully someday, Purple Kiss will also make it on one of your new group reaction episodes. They're really special... one of very few girl groups involved in the music production and choreo side of things (for instance, their maknae wrote their debut track as a trainee), they have a varied and interesting discography that is more mature than most gg's and feels authentic to them, beautiful rich vocals (best in 4th gen gg, imo) and one of the best female rappers I've heard in awhile. I also really enjoy their darker witchy concept and storyline, which is such a nice departure from most gg's. 💜 For me to ult a group though, the most important thing is the music... I need to love their entire discography and so far I've loved every song, intro and interlude they've given us. Anyhoo... I hope you can find the time to check them out someday! 😊
