@@padddy48 they invest more in the inside, as it's where they spend most of their time. Outside aesthetics is not really important in favelas, as they're aware of their situation.
But it must be said that neither Rio nor Brazil as a whole is made out of favelas. It may be the most remarkable bc its something you don't have in Europe or USA, but we have high-end neighbourhood's, utterly modern architecture (search Oscar Niemeyer's work) and a huge variety of cultural aspects, from Germanic to Asian.
Brazil is not a country, but a continent.

@Tom W Technically it can, but the trafficker forbids theft within the favela because it attracts police to the points of sale, if it is stolen it will be by people from outside the favela you are in, if you are outside the favela you will not have restrictions from the traffickers. In the favela you only die from reckoning or from policemen who shoot you thinking you had something like guns in your hands
@Tom W You think favelas don't have law? It's a different law but they have it too, and robbery is condemned inside favelas.
But they don't cause they make lot of money sallyng drugs

@@lilia_xxx9484 Basically, favela is a community with a not so good living condition and a lot of criminal activity. Especially drugs and gangs. You can see it as a ghetto-village on a hill sort of thing. You see heavily armed military personnel and people, and it is not uncommon to see shoot outs. Stray bullets and stuff. But also one of the most bonded people you could ever find. Incredible people that fight through it. Most of the community itself is good, but, criminal activity are kinda warlords in the area. You can see that everyone is very humble and also very happy. But as a Brazilian, I'd also wouldn't have the balls to go to the favelas. Not even that afraid of getting robbed, but straight up murdered. Police would never find me or even if they did, justice would never be a thing. I have respect just for the courage these people have. I wish I had half of it.

These guys have great control over their bodies, but controlling an angry dog is no joke.
Because the jump can be done with experience and skill. Avoiding an aggressive dog biting you is very uncommon.
