    As of late, I've been growing out my hair. I've had medium-length hair for years, but it wasn't until 2018 that I realized I actually have wavy hair. Throughout college, my hair would always crease and break off, if you will, from say, a classic side part (think G-Eazy, or the men from Mad Men). I would get frustrated, but I didn't realize why. Then, I went back to the pompadour w/ a taper fade and wore it kinda messy. Anyway, I've kinda found a routine that works for now, and yes, while I wash my hair everyday, I shouldn't. As of right now, I've been using a Cantu curling cream and Luster's S-Curl gel. It works for now. I've also used CocoMagic's curling cream and Marc Anthony's Strictly curls. My favorite is still the MA's curl cream, but I'm trying to finish the Cantu one first. Like you said, everyone is different.

    how long does the finger coiling stay?
    is it going away after 1-2 days or do you have to do it every here and there

    • @Killedbydre
      @Killedbydre  2 місяці тому

      Finger coiling can give your curls a defined shape, but its longevity can vary depending on your hair type and how you maintain your style. Typically, the definition from finger coiling can last a few days, but it might start to loosen up or frizz over time.
      To extend the life of your style, you can:
      Avoid touching your hair too much, as this can cause frizz and disrupt the coils.
      Sleep with a satin or silk pillowcase or use a satin/silk scarf or bonnet to minimize friction and preserve your curls.
      Refresh your curls with a light mist of water or a curl refresher spray to reactivate the coils if they start to lose definition.
      You might need to touch up or redo your finger coiling every few days, depending on how your hair holds up.

    What if when I’m washing my hair or it’s wet and I run my fingers through my curls I notice them falling out? Is it normal?

    • @Killedbydre
      @Killedbydre  25 днів тому

      It’s definitely not uncommon to see some curls fall out when your hair is wet, especially if you're running your fingers through them. Wet hair is more fragile, so it’s important to be gentle. Try using a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle instead of tugging at the curls too much. If you’re consistently losing a lot of hair, it might be worth checking in with a stylist or dermatologist, but a little shedding is usually normal.

    • @Killedbydre
      @Killedbydre  2 місяці тому

      Garnier Fructis is a popular brand, but it might not be the best for curls, especially if it has silicones or sulfates. Curly hair usually benefits from products that are sulfate-free and silicone-free to avoid frizz and maintain moisture. You might want to try a curl-specific shampoo and conditioner for better results!

      @Killedbydre  25 днів тому

      Hey! It’s not uncommon for hair to change texture after a big chop. While you may not be able to revert it back to the same curls you had, there are a few things you can try to encourage curlier patterns.
      First, keep your hair well-hydrated with moisturizing products, like leave-in conditioners and curl creams. You can also experiment with styling techniques, like using a diffuser when drying or trying the 'praying hands' method with your products.
      Regular trims can help shape your curls as they grow in. Just be patient-your hair may still have some changes ahead! If you have any specific products in mind or need more tips, feel free to ask!

    Do you add a little bit of water to your hair daily when coiling it? Another video said do not add water every day to hair because it could cause damage, but I dont think that advice applies to curly hair like ours

    • @Killedbydre
      @Killedbydre  Рік тому

      Yeah my guy, water is great for our curls that advice is definitely not for us. Just gotta be gentle while your hair is wet/damp

    is leave-in conditioner a good option for styling your curls?

    • @MisterFoxx
      @MisterFoxx 9 місяців тому

      You should pretty much use leave in conditioner before styling your hair with a cream, mousse or gel to keep your hair moisturized

    when finger coiling, could i use just a leave in conditioner instead of the smoothie stuff?

    • @Killedbydre
      @Killedbydre  Рік тому +3

      I’m not a huge fan of leave in conditioner for one, but also the curl smoothie is designed to hold and moisturize curls at the same time so I feel like it’s best to do it that way.

    • @internetprotectiveservices4599
      @internetprotectiveservices4599 Рік тому

      yea you should use leave in instead. personally smoothies for me causes my hair to have moisture overload which makes your curls flat.

    • @Killedbydre
      @Killedbydre  Рік тому

      @@internetprotectiveservices4599 very true! This can also be fixed by using less of the product or the product less often as well.
