Just want to say, I think this game is really great. Also "Good" and "Bad" can be loosely used for a few of the outcomes. It all comes down to the player how they feel about it. One good ending for me, may be a bad ending to someone else. I think that's really powerful.
1 thing that annoys me about this game is. Some of the choices they give you sometimes either 2 out of 3 are the same choice but, just worded differently and some all are the same but worded differently. Choices like those could've been scraped and I wish some of the characters will show more expression. That's my opinion.
Giving back Jack's body will always be a good ending for me. I will never ruin someones life to be young again, also don't want John to make Molly sad.
The way I see it, the endings are based on how much the characters sacrifice. John gets to sacrifice his life in Jack's body, Donna gets to sacrifice her soul, and Meena gets to sacrifice her freedom. I choose to give back, go with, and quit when I played. After watching this I do not regret my choices.
Donna’s endings were both really sad in my opinion. I really wanted her to get her family back without having to become a slave for eternity to a abusive alien.
I wanted her family back for her but also, giving yourself up for an eternity isnt worth a quick bit of time. I think her mom would've still passed from cancer regardless and her sister proved where her loyalty lied when she was going to rat you out/arrest you when you tried to explain what was going on.
@@himothy-yojimothy Yea but for me personally, the part where she cleans her apartment and puts the flowers on the counter, to me symbolizes how she learned from her selfishness and how she is now growing into a new person. Just my take on it.
Switching back was the only ending I knew was right. Didn’t seem right to lie and punish some kid for Johns own bad choices. Plus he would end up losing his daughter I’m sure.. but the other two endings I could go both ways on. Wasn’t sure if any ending was that happy for Meena... or Donna. Either way they had to suffer to some degree. Had fun with this game. Had great voice acting and a good story. Finished it in one sitting. Hope to see a bigger game from the team with more choices that hold some weight in the future.
For me the choice refusing the stranger made more sense to me. If Donna got her family and friends back she would live the rest of her life knowing that she will serve an entity for eternity. Refusing means she moved on which goes back to the what Samantha said. Loved the game a lot😂❤
Same choices I made… Donna and Meenas choices still seem bad though. There was no winning with the alt choices either. John switching back definitely felt like the better outcome.
This choice was the easiest to make imo, he had the most satisfying arc. But can we talk about how if he doesn't switch, he doesn't need a wheelchair...? What's that about?
This game was so beautiful. I finished it two days ago and it was just so amazing.. These endings really made me cry though. I did all the Right side choices first and then did the left side choices and it was just.. Bittersweet. All of them. With John switching back it was amazing because they got their lives together and they were all friendly but.. He was in a wheelchair :( but at least things were happy right? For his other ending, it was so awful that he didn't switch back, and that shot of the bracelet in the drawer really got me, but at least Jack graduated! And they were a happy enough family. With Meena, the ending where you keep the job was bittersweet as well. You at least kept the family safe, but now you worked in a horrible department. But she at least rebuilt her relationship with her son. It was kind of sad they were separated, though. The other ending where you quit was sad because she was in jail now but at least her relationship with her family was getting better. Donna was my favorite character throughout this game, although there weren't any unlikeable characters (aside from The Stranger and Meena's boss.) I really loved Donna's story as well as the others but I'll say I felt like everyone's story had a certain message. I felt like hers may have been dealing with abusive partners, which showed as he took everyone from her and tried to keep her for himself. The ending when she refuses the offer was the most beautiful, but also made me cry. I was hoping they would be back because he was bluffing but no. She was forced to grow up and live alone forever now and that really made me sad for her. The ending where she accepts was ALSO bittersweet. Yay, family's back! But now she's stuck with that abusive man when she passes away. That was pretty sad. Overall, I loved this game so much. It's been a while since a game made me laugh, cry, and get angry all in one. I really enjoyed my experience with this game, I just wish it were longer with more endings. It was amazing and I loved it so so so much. My opinion on good endings would be John switching back, Meena quitting and Donna either refusing or accepting honestly. She either loses her family and is safe, or gets to see her family again. I feel like it could be either/or with this since her family had nothing to do with this and were trapped in what looked like Limbo, all because of association. I loved this game so much, I know I keep saying that haha. Also this was way longer than I meant for it to be. If you read this far, thank you for reading my dumb thoughts, haha! Again, just wanted to say I really loved this game!
I wonder if Donna could chop the imprinted hand off as a loophole in the contract? The Stranger gets her right hand for all eternity, LOL. I would love that. Donna gets up from the table, "I'll be right back, got to take care of something." Cut to the Stranger in green waiting on his ethereal plane. Suddenly an ethereal, green, amputated hand with the contract symbol on the palm materializes next to him making the rude gesture the V-sign. Then John (in whichever body) and Meena separately come to check on Donna in the hospital.
Switched back- was happy with the ending , yes a part of me thought about it but it was the right choice. Donna- refused offer, her mom was dying, didn’t state that would change if brought back? Also eternity seems like a long ass time! Was kinda hoping John would somehow adopt her or show him checking up on her at least. I think if her family loved her, they wouldn’t want her selling her soul. Wish it kinda explained what his intentions were thou. Meena- I stayed with the job, seemed better than prison and I was hoping there could be some reconciliation with her husband as another choice or based on past choices. Seemed like Donna and meena both had huge shitty choices to make in the end, wish there had been more details to make it a little better. Overall 8/10 for me Needed more details/choices and gameplay itself besides mostly walking
The aliens intentions were clear. He was obsessed with her. He wanted to make her his little fuck toy for eternity. Dark stuff. But there are worse afterlife's depending on what religion you read into lol
I was debating bringing back Donna's family for her but when the alien guy went "FOREVER". I just couldn't. She'd be a slave for.. well forever like he said! I'm glad I was playing at max volume then so that line hit me harder. I felt like Meena going to prison was actually better tho since it's implied that her and Dan stay together. And seeing her in that empty office building in the other ending was so sad to me honestly.
@@joedelingus5652 To me the problem was the Handsome Dude's motives are so inscrutable (is it really he just wanted to own her? Why did he go through everything the way he did if that was the case) that I would never be able to trust him to keep his part of the deal, especially when he was willing to wipe people away the moment it threatened his goals. Plus, eternity with a creep is... eternity with a creep.
@@davidfuchs845 You've got to remember the character is a teenager. She would pick the best choice for her short-term, without really considering the consequences long-term...
Thinking about Donna’s choices... I feel like this is the truth for me and probably a lot of people: Losing my family and close friends would break me, it wouldn’t be much of a life without any of them. (Speaking about my family in general, not specifically Donna’s) I’d honestly be a man with nothing to lose at that point, I can assure you that’s not a road I’d want to travel. It’s not even a choice. Donna’s decision is the easiest but also the most difficult to make because you’re not making it for yourself, you are making it to save the lives of all your friends and family.
What? So you would accept being a slave eternally to give your friends and family, what? 5-10 20 years? As a religious person. I would rather see my loved ones on the other side than be damned eternally and see them for a couple years.
If Supernatural taught me anything it's to never accept offers from what's probably some kind of evil demon type thing. Donna has a bummer of an ending either way but I don't like the idea of her spending forever with that guy. Kinda annoying we never found out what he wanted with her though.
@@Charizarzar i think it's obvious. he seemed obsessed, almost possessive. it was hinted how strange an older guy like him wanted someone so young. and how he "may have wanted to sell her" and would watch her sleep. If he got rid of Viv when he wasn't a threat, then it can only mean one thing. He wanted Donna for his.. own pleasure.
Just beat this since it is leaving gamepass soon, Donna accepting the offer makes the most sense to me. She gets to be with the people she loves/cares about giving them their lives back so that everyone including her gets to live their natural life which probably includes marriage, kids, grandkids and death for some of them. There is no guarantee that after life exists in this game or that her loved ones would be there and not in limbo. So imo the self sacrifice later with maybe the option of fighting it in the future was worth it to me. Besides that I chose jack and john to switchback and meena to go to jail instead of supporting hale.
Definitely refuse the deal. What's the point in bringing them back when their friends will probably move to other places, her sister will live with her girlfriend, and her mom will die? Plus, the amount of life they'll have(like what, 60, 70 years?) Is absolutely nothing compared to the eternity of suffering she'll have to go through. Plus, people seem to forget she can die not of old age, so like getting run over at 20, and down to hell she goes.
I went for the same ones except for meena. I didn’t know it would end up like that though. In a way she has changed because she’s protecting her family and cares for them instead of just being invested in work
What I consider good endings Donna: takes the deal. She's not the only one who lost a loved one. Meena: quits. It's time she faces up to the things she's done John: switched back. He's lived his life. Jack is entitled to live his.
Basically since he's dead now his plan won't work and so I think now he just wants to torture her, heaven on earth for hell in the afterlife is the comparison I found.
I think he was trying to force her into marriage by getting rid of her family and making her forget everything and that didn't work so he used her family as a bargaining chip
@@theashenstorm5509 I agree, once he realized his plan wouldn't work of trying to make her forget, he used his last tool. I really didn't like him when he started turning abusive.
Donna mom was already dying why make her mom go through all that pain again. Also there is no way Donna would live a healthy happy life knowing she has to go back to the guy. Declining the offer is the only correct answer tbh
I agree with declining the offer. But I always hold hope that when she accepts the offer, her mother wouldn't be sick. It's probably not the case, but since there isn't any expansion past that ending, I can always have a head canon!
I just felt bad for the rest of the family and Vivek. Since their “death“ is kinda her fault for getting involved with the man, I found it poetic to sacrifice herself to bring them back
That’s selfish as fuck. Even if the mom is still going to be sick, she still had her friends, sister, and sister’s girlfriend. This ending is equally as bad as John staying in Jack’s body.
There's no much to this game gameplay wise but man, I was hooked with the narrative from chapter 1 Also I like how the endings have their good and bad aspects
I love the discourse on who thinks what is a good deal. In my own morality viewpoint / what I got from the characters is Jack : switch back (what evil person doesn’t lol no need to get into it , seems out of character to not switch at the end.) Menna : stay with job (I feel that conversation with Samantha steers it that way, also prison or see family? Would like to think she’s grown through it all and can take a boring office job and the son smiling at the end reaffirmed it. She choose family over ego and self. IMO the good ending. Donna: Refuse. Even though she would be happy with everyone back. She knows it wouldn’t be real & the outcome of eternity with this evil deity is far worse than accepting things for what they are and building anew. I thought that ending was beautiful & symbolic. She cleaned up the mess of what was left and began anew. Very empowering & somber but a truthful message
Like most, it was no question about switching John/Jack back. Wouldn't make the selfish decision of stealing someone else's body and it would inevitably have caused issues with not having daughter custody. I did not trust the stranger to even believe that the family/friends returned to Donna would be the real thing and was not for damning Donna's eternal soul to whatever it is he wanted after her death, so turned down his offer. I wasn't as sure about the choice of quitting as Meena, although I found it interesting how despite however long she's sentenced in prison that she seemingly was able to reconcile her relationship with her husband while in jail. Seeing her other option, I'm glad I quit.
One thing I don't understand is that I thought this guy Frank was a really competent person, but he was just a regular clerk. I thought he was really knowledgeable and had a purpose, so how does he take people into his world or change their bodies as he pleases? Just because he's angry? Why did he take Samantha with him? What about the handsome man? What kind of being is he? Because he destroyed not only humans, but also an alien as he wished...
I just finished Last Stop on Game Pass last night and I gotta say I enjoyed it overall, this brings me back to playing Telltale Games with all the choice-making and QTEs! For my endings I chose... _Donna-_ *(Accept the Stranger’s deal and save your family Ending)* I wanted Donna to see her family and friends alive and well again as they were just taken away from you by this stranger that’s obsessed with you. Even if I did sell my soul to him she’ll be able to live life and die with the ones she loves before it’s her time and becomes a slave for eternity. You only live once, right? _Meena-_ *(Swallow pride and protect family Ending)* After being sent on a mission to Coldharbour on the other side of the portal to retrieve and bring back Samantha, I wanted to make Meena realize that family is everything to a person after Samantha gives her reason as to not wanting to return despite Meena committing adultery while married and a mother herself. But the ending tricked me and pulled a doozy on me, I didn’t know she was going to split with her husband! Next time say what endings actually mean, Last Stop! Looks like I’ll have to replay the final mission again... _John-_ *(Switch back Ending)* It’s quite simply really, the whole reason John traveled to the other side of the portal was to save his friend, Jack’s life! If people chose otherwise then that’s just selfish because it’s wasn’t your body in the first place. Also I wanted to know what the man meant by “You two are made for each other” Before switching us. Could that imply a potential future relationship between Jack & John? If so then Jack, John and Molly will be a happy family of 3!
There are still some loose ends for each character that are left a mystery or not spoken of again like with Meena and her ongoing affair with Felix, did Dan ever manage to find out? I really wish he did so he wasn’t fooled thinking she was working out on the field all this time. He deserves to know the truth as a husband! Or with John and his ex-wife, what ever happened to her? It was about to be explained when Jack asked before John changed the subject as it was too painful for him to think about her. Did she split up with John? Did she die? Nobody will ever know. That only brings John & Jack closer together and deepen their friendship. Finally the only question I have for Donna is... How long is she going to able to hide the truth from others if you chose to reject the Stranger’s deal? A teenage girl is obviously living alone with no friends or family either. Will social services, her school or their landlord notice anything? Another thing that ticked me off is John giving hope to Donna about checking up on her when she said she doesn’t know what’s her next move but I don’t see him anywhere in that ending! Sorry guys I know it’s a game but I tend to get deep into this stuff when it entertains me
I thought Meena does care about her family, the actual problem is that she’s too obsessed about her work. So by making her quit her job she would have more time to spend with her family after completing her sentence, and it fits her character arc
So, as Meena no matter what you agree with Samantha, anything you say to Peter has the same reaction by him. That's lame. If you give me choices, give me different reactions, not just different lines of dialogue.
The fact your dialogue choices often didn't make any difference was a major let-down of this game. The only choices that actually make any impact whatsoever are at the very end of the game. Feels pretty weak considering the story is supposed to be the point.
Personally I think Donna's arc is an analogy to abusive relationships. He wins her over, being interesting and making her feel special, as he doesn't talk to anyone but her. Subtly he begins to separate her from her friends, making her feel betrayed, like he's the only one she can trust. When she finally trusts him, he takes everyone away, leaving her with no support and then treats her like an object because he knows she's too broken to try fight against him. I also think it shows how easy is for older people to manipulate someone younger and naive in this context.
Meena had me liking her hating her and honestly ultimately confused on what I could for her. In all honesty she deserved the shit end of the stick. Donna fought her battle of being loved but ultimately realized her love wasn't there for the people around her. It's a shit end of the stick but choosing her family at least will give her a lifetime with the people she lost returning them to her life wasnt for her it was for them. Jack and John was simple taking another mans shoes which is disgusting when with all the bizarre things happening in this story. Taking a leap of faith towards hope with John was in my opinion the obvious choice and that's switching.
My play through was: Donna - Agreed to the deal to bring them back. Meena - Take the deal and remain with the company so she didn’t go to prison. John/Jack - Swap back. I enjoyed the game, would of been better to have more interaction with the world, like actually able to do more. But I enjoyed the story.
Quite an interesting game, a bit let down mainly by the dialogue options not matching the dialogue. And the finale did feel out of place. I decided; To switch back: while swapping bodies sounds cool temporarily, it would probably feel like wearing a costume, at some point I'd want to go to "wearing" normal. Plus, although understandable, keeping Jack's body would be wrong lol. Probably my favourite story in the three. Protect the family: I don't really want to take the fall for something I didn't do, and if I'm going to get a second chance, it'll be harder in prison. A crap job sounds better than prison, I can still make the choice about how I choose to live my life. Refuse Offer: Looking at this on the other side, I wouldn't want someone to bring me back just to spend an eternity enslaved to someone. And I'm sure at least her family wouldn't want it either. By refusing, I could still build a life in the future and have people in it again. But both Donna's endings seem to suck no matter.
finished this in one sitting and i abs loved it. for meena i chose to quit her job, for john i chose to switch back and for donna i chose to get her family back. kinda regret choosing that for donna but she really missed her close ones
I chose Donna: Refuse offer Menna: Quit John: Switch back To me, Donna selling her soul after she dies to an alien being doesn't seem worth it. I mean sure Donna gets to see her friends and family again but at what cost? By showing the stranger she could move on, she was able to be a more mature and independent person. She may have to start over, but she's still in high school and all her friends/family were honestly such assholes. I think it's a good opporunity for a fresh start in a new life. She still has her whole life as she's still in high school. After everything that Menna has had to go through, I think quitting was definintely the best option. I mean by the end and throughout the game, Menna was having an identity crisis who lost herself as everyone hated her. Maybe she was good at her job, because it fits her personality but with having to keep working is basically repeating an endless cycle of blackmailing torment from an overcontrolling boss. Her job is the reason she became so unlikable as she distanced herself from everyone around her. I also felt that she needed to have redemption for the wrongs she commited and make amends for her family. As for John to switch back, I believe it was the right thing to do. It's not fair to deny Jack the right to live his youth when John has already had his chance to live through it. If anything, both of them will have much more motivation to be better for themselves.
I don’t know how y’all think Donna refusing the offer is good I mean I understand the implications but that’s what? 5 people dead? Yeah definitely sacrificing my afterlife for the 5 people closest to me no question
@@lolbotomy I get that I do but that’s 5 life’s gone and none of them really did anything wrong plus Donna would be emotionally damaged the rest of her life
Mmmh I still don't understand why the black guy killed all the people before the 3 teenagers discovered him. After that why did he start killing Donna's friends? Also what did he try to do with Donna once they were in coldharbour?
I also don’t understand why the guy didn’t tell her about the vape lord guy. We don’t know but I’m sure he could of helped her figure out a way to save her family
@@MelancholicRobot42 I mean what was shown in the game wasn’t much. It didn’t really show a lot of what the other world has to offer or go in-depth. Which isn’t bad but that’s why I believe the guy could help
LOL. I honestly chalked that up to the fact that Becky and Donna both liked the same guy, and didn't really seem all that close other than that one scene where she "saves" Donna and when they're going to get tools and food that one time. Other than the very beginning and some points afterward, it never felt like they had a friendship. It just felt like Vivek kind of put a wedge between them, since they both liked him.
I played the game with polish subtitles, and when I chose for John to switch back, it looked like he didn't switch at all. So came here to see the other ending, and guess what? People who translated the game put choices for him in the wrong order. Where it said "switch back" in polish, it was actually the option not to switch :') Anyway, I liked that Jack stayed with them in the ending I meant to choose, but also that he got to do what he wanted in the other. My choice for Donna was to accept the offer, because she got to live with her family again. Kinda sad that after her death she becomes a slave to a fuckin alien creep tho. As for Meena, for me her happy ending was to quit the job, and honestly? Meena seems happier in prison than she does when she has to swallow her pride. That's just not Meena-like. Funny enough, I started to like her only because of that ending.
I had the same problem, tried two times and didn't get the ending I wanted. So I chose for not switch and then tey switched, I was so upset thinking I wouldn't be able to do that.
So basically it was just me who hasn't switched back the body and fell awesome? (turned out good, in my opinion) My other choices: Donna-refuse offer (she was already selfish and lonely and Vic did cheated her with her friend, basically she just got a fresh start) Meena: swallow pride and save family - I mean you can blame her for trying, as Samantha suggested - it's not to late (but I also liked the one that she is in prison)
Assuming that the becky comment is even trustworthy. That would mean that vic cheated on her with donna not the other way. Though i can't say i trust that to be legit.
Changes bodies / don't give him what he wants/quits the job are the best ends, you have to Accept the lost of your family / your job / your self ( your death) nothing last for ever
I think Meena and Donna doesn't have a good choice cuz whether they choose (quit, protect family or make deal, refuse deal) there's no advantage both of the choices.Meena doesn't have to be in the prison for no reason but she doesn't have to work too so that's annoying to me.(she's my fave) And poor Donna lost her all family and friends so that doesn't seem good too.Eveb she accepts the deal, the stranger is planning something over her so we can't expect a good thing from him.He tried creepy things before. For John, switching back is the good option and the only moment that made me smile in the end of the game.As I feel happy about John's end,I feel sad about the girls'.But anyway I still want a 2nd game no matter what🤘😜
Ranking characters/stories from worst to best: Donna: moronic teenager shenanigans got her into some totally avoidable troubles. I had 0 sympathy for her entitled ass. I only felt bad for her friend and families for suffering because of her bs. The stranger is a weak villain as well. I'm still not sure why he make people disappear before the story begins. Why he became obsessed with Donna specifically? Why keeping a photograph of him does anything? What was he trying to do in the basement? Meena: story is a bit bland but alright. Her actions were very questionable to say the least and I think that's the point. The tension with Dan is well written. The slow reveal really had its effect. I find the biggest shortcoming again is lack of relatability. Letting Amy die is such a douche move I don't think I could forgive her. John: super fun story. The interaction with Molly is just fantastic. Body swapping is such a cliche but it's masterfully done here. Shows that we only treasure things when they are lost. Many hilarious moments had me rolling on the ground but the stake is there as well. Overall the game is alright. The overall theme seems to be taking responsibility for your actions and enjoying the gifts of life while they are here. The writing has some up and downs but I would say John's story alone justify the price tag. (And I finished it on game pass in 5 hours anyways)
It doesn't make much sense for Meena to reconcile with her family if she goes to prison. She was a horrible partner and an emotionally negligent parent. All that and the charges she'd be pressed with, I'd never want to see her again. At least the other option fits her character as a narcissist.
I think for Donna the best option was to refuse, so even if she would live without her family, she's still living all the afterlife(eternity) with them
Same with me Marco. But you and i believe in God. That could change things up a bit. Some people dont believe in that so they might say spending time with loved ones in this time is more valuable.
@@Utbuscus You can believe in things like the afterlife and not God, I believe in a lot of things, such as life after death; although I don't believe in the concept of a "God". I think personally the time we spend with others is valuable, despite beliefs or facts, no one really knows (or anything has been show as true). So I'd rather try to make the most of life now, but what has value is subjective to each individual. I'm not looking to start a fight though, so if I come off as confrontational, sorry, that wasn't my intention.
Old comment, but I absolutely disagree with your view on donna's decision. She should not sacrifice her whole afterlife for her family. It was not her fault they died.
I disagree just putting myself in that position I don’t think I would ever be able to live a happy life knowing I would have to spend eternity with that guy
@@georgebatshon4417 I agree. I had to pause to think about that one, because it’s really tricky. But when you’re that young, the friends didn’t really matter. The other girl didn’t, and the relationship with the guy didn’t either as, again, they were both young. Her mum was already dying, so the only massive loss was her sister Emma. She can now live a full life without the worry of the guy being over her head
@@Achilles053 yea overall I really liked the game. My only problem with it was how unlikeable Meena was she cheated on her husband with her sons doctor, was absent in her sons life, and left her colleague to die because she called her out for being a bad wife 😭. Her character development was one conversation with Samantha
@@georgebatshon4417 I quite liked it but it’s being bashed in reviews right now, which I understand. The dialogue led nowhere and the only good aspect was the story. But, again, I did really like this game I agree with Meena as well. The whole storyline was very cold up until right at the end. I think that was the game showing us how Meena enjoys the combat lifestyle over the family lifestyle. Even during the game, those ‘analyse’ shots show how much of a soldier she is. Her storyline was good but the character herself was just bland
Donnas was the hardest for me. I chose to agree because I felt like she was responsible and cause I hope she can impale him with a sword in the after life too lol
probably wanted to use her for his own ends, simply a story where an older guy manipulates a minor that's fascinated by him, pretending to be their friend and turning abusive when they lose their patience
@@juliakrupa329 Thanks for replying but I wish they had shown us what the whole mysterious thing in coldharbour was, or what the point of bringing her was, explicitly. Also yeah a day without laughter is indeed a day wasted haha.
I feel like they didn't spend enough time elaborating on the stranger. Like why didn't he just take donna like everyone else? Why did seeing his photo stop him from doing just that in the basement? Did he actually get becky since we never see it and when everyone is restored she's no where to be found. What did he do to the people vic saw at the beginning? Since he remembers them i assume they were like donna and not just getting deleted. Speaking of donna I'm not sure why he went to so much effort over her when he could have gone for much easier targets. Like i don't expect them to elaborate on everything but i feel it could have been fleshed out. Plus John never go's to see donna regardless of ending. Which seems odd to have a conversation about it if your never going to show it. Speaking of no shows i also found it odd that shazia never makes an appearance either.
@@PlastiscGuy That was my first thought, but didn't remember. I'll have to check if you can redo a chapter and find out. Decent game, but I wish they had a better ending. I was waiting for the three to be a force on the other side with a purpose, and we got a tatooine style place with a blah ending. Cool game, but could have been so much better.
I really really hate this game. On "I want to delete it from my account even if I don't get my money back"-level. It's just awful overall. I was hoping endings will make me feel better, but no... it's only make things worse. :(
So many things about the story of this game are a bit weird and immersion breaking. Especially during the story of John. I don't understand why the guy on the subway swapped their bodies. There wasn't really a motive or a good reason. He just did it because he felt like it. Furthermore the conversation with his daughter didn't make any sense. She just immediately accepted that they swapped bodies without asking any questions or having any problems with it. That is not how things like that would work in real life and it feels like rushed or lazy writing.
I chose to not switch back as jack gets a degree and will live out that body able to walk while John gets to be young I then chose to not make the deal since 40 years is nothing compared to eternity Thenn of course i chose jail as shes with her hubby, she would be depressed otherwise why live life sad when you can be happy
This was such a cheesy game, I got the Platinum Trophy last night. I'm glad both of Meena's endings were bad, she was a horrible person and I hated every moment controlling her.
It's kind of sad but I think done is better off without the family because otherwise she would be living in some sort of imagination dream until the end then well whatever happens I don't really know I am play the game never even know it existed until like 5 seconds ago then again I should probably say 17 minutes ago. Damn that snake in the ass boss definitely kept his word anyway so in reality she would never have been able to sprint up to her kid like that and hug right especially in a what they call it a meeting room for prisoners but yeah the God to be like only in the very special circumstances would you be allowed to do something like that I'm happy to get this game got me interested in like the full story
John switches back, Donna accepts the offer, Meena protects family to keep working. John's whole mission was to switch back throughout the game, Donna learned over her story that she loves her family and doesn't want them gone so she gets them back, and Meena was an asshole through the the whole game so she gets the asshole ending where she continues to live her life of lies.
This leaves room for a slight sequel to me. We just learn about an entire other part of the galaxy in this game so this contract donna has i feel could be broken if she starts digging into the unknown. Maybe that could be a sequel. Time skip like 10 years and finds another portal and battles to reclaim her soul while introducing a cast. Idk just a thought.
Why her mom was already dying why make her mom go through all that pain again. Also there is no way Donna would live a healthy happy life knowing she has to go back to the guy.
I personally never did, although I can see how it might be good though. Since she has now saved her family and friends and gets to live the rest of her life with them now. But at the same time, refusing means that at least now, she doesn't have to be forced into servitude/a relationship with The Stranger.
@@sainttan yeah that was a really easy choice for me. The best ending and the best storyline, by far
Ditto. Just finished it and came here to see what happened in reverse of the decisions. All the other choices were selfish, tbh.
They're were all kinda fd up
@@OceanMetTheSky her friends and family were horrible people.
Her storyline was very messed up. Seemed very sexual predatory to me.
Same sooo sad :/
I wish we could have gotten a scene with John and molly checking in on Donna, woulda been so cute.
Would have loved that too.
@WaitingForTheStop I came here for this. He says he’s gonna check on her but we never see it. I thought maybe they’d all move in together.
the good endings for me are:
donna: refuse offer
meena:quit
john:switch back
I didn’t like meena so I chose the bad ending for her
I chose the same and while it really sucks for Donna, accepting the offer felt like a bad idea. Her life got so wrecked.
@@himothy-yojimothy Yea but for me personally, the part where she cleans her apartment and puts the flowers on the counter, to me symbolizes how she learned from her selfishness and how she is now growing into a new person. Just my take on it.
Aaah dude u made me feel sad. So Meena is evil so made her a corporate slave. Donna got her fam back and obv John had to swap
@@isaacnewton2291 I don't like her either but she really redeems herself by saving them
Switching back was the only ending I knew was right.
Exactly! I think her family would of been proud she didnt except it
Refuse the offer, switch back & quit are the best endings imo.
For me, the good endings were
Meena-protects family
John- switches back
Donna- refuses the offer
Those were my choices as well. I think Meena had it better going to jail and getting her family back, though.
Same choices I made… Donna and Meenas choices still seem bad though. There was no winning with the alt choices either. John switching back definitely felt like the better outcome.
Yeesh, that ending where John doesn’t change back is just awful.
How so?
@@weirdoodee1216 he basically let a friend knowing that he will likely die because of his poor self care.
They all do live quite happily in the end, but I still prefer the ending where they do change back. What a game though, had no idea it would this good
@@Achilles053 yeah honestly quite disappointed on how that ending practically was as positive as the good choice.
Thank you for your thoughts. Glad to hear others felt the same way I did about the endings.
I love how u break it down... ❤️.. Geat game
Your comment is wholesome~
I wonder if Donna could chop the imprinted hand off as a loophole in the contract? The Stranger gets her right hand for all eternity, LOL. I would love that. Donna gets up from the table, "I'll be right back, got to take care of something." Cut to the Stranger in green waiting on his ethereal plane. Suddenly an ethereal, green, amputated hand with the contract symbol on the palm materializes next to him making the rude gesture the V-sign. Then John (in whichever body) and Meena separately come to check on Donna in the hospital.
There really is no way to classify the endings into good/neutral/bad for me, every ending had something heartbreaking to it
Switched back- was happy with the ending , yes a part of me thought about it but it was the right choice.
Overall 8/10 for me
Needed more details/choices and gameplay itself besides mostly walking
The aliens intentions were clear. He was obsessed with her. He wanted to make her his little fuck toy for eternity. Dark stuff. But there are worse afterlife's depending on what religion you read into lol
Meena didn't deserve to renoncile with her husband. The ending where she continues working for hale is the ending she deserves.
Same
I was debating bringing back Donna's family for her but when the alien guy went "FOREVER".
I liked this game and I also like how you could spot characters from different stories and others chapters
Strange thing about this game is that you couldn’t die, like what would happen if John didn’t LB RB sprint
I just chose what I thought the character's themselves would do:
John - Switch back
Meena - Quit
Donna - Save family
Ye, Donna would definitely choose save family but IMO the refuse is the best option
I chose exactly the same 👌🏼👍🏼
@@davidfuchs845 You've got to remember the character is a teenager. She would pick the best choice for her short-term, without really considering the consequences long-term...
Thinking about Donna’s choices...
I feel like this is the truth for me and probably a lot of people:
Losing my family and close friends would break me, it wouldn’t be much of a life without any of them. (Speaking about my family in general, not specifically Donna’s)
I’d honestly be a man with nothing to lose at that point, I can assure you that’s not a road I’d want to travel.
@@Utbuscus that just sounds selfish. It’s my fault anyways why it all started so might as well fix it and sacrifice my shitty self.
For me it was
Donna - refuse offer
Meena - save family
John - switch back.
Not sure it was good or bad though.
I went for the same ones except for meena. I didn’t know it would end up like that though. In a way she has changed because she’s protecting her family and cares for them instead of just being invested in work
I agreed to the offer
I quit for meena and Donna accepted. Meena now will have a closer relationship with her family, and Donna gets to save his victims for her sacrifice
@@sj7m530 Yeah. If you don't, you ensure like 6 humans are wiped from Earth. Just a little selfish.
@@GoftheInternet and if you do you spend eternity with an alien whose motives are unclear. Fucked either way tbh
What I consider good endings
Donna: takes the deal. She's not the only one who lost a loved one.
Meena: quits. It's time she faces up to the things she's done
John: switched back. He's lived his life. Jack is entitled to live his.
Best end 🤝
I mean... They might have lost a loved one but they don't remember it so it's fine.
My choices:
John: Switches back.
Donna: Refuses offer.
Meena: Quits
They weren't easy choices, but they felt like the right ones.
Has anyone figured out what the angel guy wanted with Donna? Where was he bringing her?
Basically since he's dead now his plan won't work and so I think now he just wants to torture her, heaven on earth for hell in the afterlife is the comparison I found.
Angel?? More like satan, he was so hypocrite and manipulative.
I think he was trying to force her into marriage by getting rid of her family and making her forget everything and that didn't work so he used her family as a bargaining chip
@@calebgao6931 well, Satan was an angel after all
@@theashenstorm5509 I agree, once he realized his plan wouldn't work of trying to make her forget, he used his last tool.
Kinda disappointed John didnt honour his promise on checking on Donna.
I like how this video starts with all the 3 not my choices, so I could review them all at once :)
Still not understood what the "stranger" was all about.
example of creepy people trying to manipulate the underaged to use them I guess
I believe it was an allegory for grooming
There's no much to this game gameplay wise but man, I was hooked with the narrative from chapter 1
Also I like how the endings have their good and bad aspects
I love the discourse on who thinks what is a good deal. In my own morality viewpoint / what I got from the characters is
Jack : switch back (what evil person doesn’t lol no need to get into it , seems out of character to not switch at the end.)
Menna : stay with job (I feel that conversation with Samantha steers it that way, also prison or see family? Would like to think she’s grown through it all and can take a boring office job and the son smiling at the end reaffirmed it. She choose family over ego and self. IMO the good ending.
Donna: Refuse. Even though she would be happy with everyone back. She knows it wouldn’t be real & the outcome of eternity with this evil deity is far worse than accepting things for what they are and building anew. I thought that ending was beautiful & symbolic. She cleaned up the mess of what was left and began anew. Very empowering & somber but a truthful message
I didn't switch back at the end. Fuck Jack, lol. John gets to live with his daughter.
I chose, Switch Back, No Deal and Face the Music 😀
Yes!
Because he destroyed not only humans, but also an alien as he wished...
does anyone think there will be a 2nd game?? a sequel?? because they can’t just end the game with that cliff hanger
There’s no cliffhanger
There is a possibility for a sequel. Also they could reveal more about the other world there.
@@davidfuchs845 Telltale Vibes
Every story was straightforward on its ending but I’m confused on what The Stranger’s intentions are
Personally I think Donna's arc is an analogy to abusive relationships.
My play through was:
Donna - Agreed to the deal to bring them back.
I decided;
To switch back: while swapping bodies sounds cool temporarily, it would probably feel like wearing a costume, at some point I'd want to go to "wearing" normal.
I just finished the game. Here are my endings:
John switched back
Meena is in prison
Donna made the deal with the Stranger.
Thank you for the endings!! Now I'm definitely more interested in playing this game. Looks like a lot of fun!
Game looks great! Awesome video, keep it up!!
I feel really sad for Donna :((
John & Jack switches back, Meena swallows pride and stays out of jail, and precious Donna refuses the deal
finished this in one sitting and i abs loved it. for meena i chose to quit her job, for john i chose to switch back and for donna i chose to get her family back. kinda regret choosing that for donna but she really missed her close ones
I chose
Donna: Refuse offer
Menna: Quit
John: Switch back
To me, Donna selling her soul after she dies to an alien being doesn't seem worth it.
Good- Donna accepts the offer, John switches back, Meena quits
I did the same thing!
Every ending is bad in its own way, everyone suffers at the end some how or another. Still pretty good game
Switch back and quit job were the best options to me. Dunno about Donna. I refused in the game but letting her all alone was kinda sad :(
I don’t know how y’all think Donna refusing the offer is good I mean I understand the implications but that’s what? 5 people dead? Yeah definitely sacrificing my afterlife for the 5 people closest to me no question
Exactly. Because they had nothing to do with it and they lost their very existence because Donna decided to follow this man.
Is this Kyle Z?
Wow.. I never thought of it that way! When you put it that way, it kind of changes my mind on what I thought was the good ending..
eternity is a very, very long time
@@lolbotomy I get that I do but that’s 5 life’s gone and none of them really did anything wrong plus Donna would be emotionally damaged the rest of her life

He killed Donna’s friends because they were more important to her, without them she would only have him.
@@jimbogame6375 I doubt he could really help. The stranger seemed more powerful than anything were shown in the game.
@@MelancholicRobot42 I mean what was shown in the game wasn’t much. It didn’t really show a lot of what the other world has to offer or go in-depth. Which isn’t bad but that’s why I believe the guy could help
lol so where's Becky tho XD I did not give my damn soul to not see her in this final cut XD
They didn't even show Becky getting erased
When the Stranger took down Donna in the portal, there were Vivek, Becky, Emma, Mother and Ash, meaning that the Stranger erased all of them.
I refused the offer with Donna but in the scene where she's in the room with her family the mark didn't show up. Was that just a glitch?
Yes
P.s game was to short. Freaking loved it thou
Well that's not good. You must have been confused
I had the same problem, tried two times and didn't get the ending I wanted. So I chose for not switch and then tey switched, I was so upset thinking I wouldn't be able to do that.

I THOUGHT JACK'S DECISION WAS ABOUT GOING BACK OM THAT PLACE AND NOT ABOUT SWITCHING BODIES
I ENDED UP NOT SWITCHING BODIES I FEEL SO BAD
I don't get why john's body needs a wheelchair if john is residing in it but doesn't if jack is
So basically it was just me who hasn't switched back the body and fell awesome? (turned out good, in my opinion)
My other choices:
Donna-refuse offer (she was already selfish and lonely and Vic did cheated her with her friend, basically she just got a fresh start)
Meena: swallow pride and save family - I mean you can blame her for trying, as Samantha suggested - it's not to late (but I also liked the one that she is in prison)
Assuming that the becky comment is even trustworthy. That would mean that vic cheated on her with donna not the other way. Though i can't say i trust that to be legit.
Nah, I also didn't switch back
Changes bodies / don't give him what he wants/quits the job
are the best ends, you have to Accept the lost of your family / your job / your self ( your death)
nothing last for ever
I know not switching back with Jack is a bad thing, but now they kind of become a platonic family, and i'm still waiting for the romace to bloom
For John, switching back is the good option and the only moment that made me smile in the end of the game.As I feel happy about John's end,I feel sad about the girls'.But anyway I still want a 2nd game no matter what🤘😜
Ranking characters/stories from worst to best:
Donna: moronic teenager shenanigans got her into some totally avoidable troubles.
But didn't understand why when you switch back body's you can't walk but if you don't you'll be able to
Don’t make the deal.
Protect your family.
Switch bodies.
Those are literally the only 3 humane choices imo.
i accidentally got the wrong john ending 🤡
It doesn't make much sense for Meena to reconcile with her family if she goes to prison. She was a horrible partner and an emotionally negligent parent. All that and the charges she'd be pressed with, I'd never want to see her again. At least the other option fits her character as a narcissist.
I think for Donna the best option was to refuse, so even if she would live without her family, she's still living all the afterlife(eternity) with them
Same with me Marco. But you and i believe in God. That could change things up a bit. Some people dont believe in that so they might say spending time with loved ones in this time is more valuable.
@@Utbuscus true but the man speaks of living the eternity with Donna so maybe the other option is with her familily, but we cant know this so...
@@Utbuscus God doesn’t like selfish people and you’re demonstrating that with your choices. Have some reflection and think about it.
John not switching back, Donna refuses and Meena leaves the company.
john: switch back
meena: quit
donna: save family (i think this one is the best for donna because when i saw her family i'm cried 😭)
Old comment, but I absolutely disagree with your view on donna's decision. She should not sacrifice her whole afterlife for her family. It was not her fault they died.
The good ending for me is Donna agrees
John switches back
And she protects her family
But, again, I did really like this game
I agree with Meena as well.
Donna not accepting the curse is the correct choice
Both endings are great
My first run ending and my favorite is
John: switch back
Donna: take the offer
Meena: stay at her job
So, all the bad choices.
@@innerbytes yeah pretty much accept i feel terrible if I don't switch back
Does anybody know what the black guy was going to do with Donna by bringing her to coldharbour?
probably wanted to use her for his own ends, simply a story where an older guy manipulates a minor that's fascinated by him, pretending to be their friend and turning abusive when they lose their patience
@@juliakrupa329 Thanks for replying but I wish they had shown us what the whole mysterious thing in coldharbour was, or what the point of bringing her was, explicitly. Also yeah a day without laughter is indeed a day wasted haha.
Meena I guess they don't call her that for nothing
Why is John in a wheelchair going back too his body but jack isn’t staying in johns body
This game is epic 100
tysm
Who was that Ron guy at the end? Did I miss something during the game, or have bad memory?
Came here to ask the same thing!
I think he was that guy from the podcast? The one who believed the conspiracies about alien portals under London lol
I chose to not switch back as jack gets a degree and will live out that body able to walk while John gets to be young
I then chose to not make the deal since 40 years is nothing compared to eternity
Thenn of course i chose jail as shes with her hubby, she would be depressed otherwise why live life sad when you can be happy
There are more endings! Even worse ones. . . Play the game blind without looking up a guide and perhaps you'll see.
What do you mean with playing it "blindly"?
This was such a cheesy game, I got the Platinum Trophy last night. I'm glad both of Meena's endings were bad, she was a horrible person and I hated every moment controlling her.
I accidently choiced all bad endings:)
I fell like all the ending are bad they all feel so sad
They all are bittersweet but the good ones is where the bad guys end with nothing.
Idk what the good and the bad ending
yes 😎
John switches back, Donna accepts the offer, Meena protects family to keep working. John's whole mission was to switch back throughout the game, Donna learned over her story that she loves her family and doesn't want them gone so she gets them back, and Meena was an asshole through the the whole game so she gets the asshole ending where she continues to live her life of lies.
The “bad” endings where better imo
OMG the ending that you don't switch back is much happier, no wheelchair and he even graduates! 😵💫
Ne oyunmuş arkadaş. Teşekkürler RRaenee.
This game is an absolute bummer. Why so many drab and macabre endings??
Alanzoka
This leaves room for a slight sequel to me. We just learn about an entire other part of the galaxy in this game so this contract donna has i feel could be broken if she starts digging into the unknown. Maybe that could be a sequel. Time skip like 10 years and finds another portal and battles to reclaim her soul while introducing a cast. Idk just a thought.
Some of the worst ending I ever seen in an narrative game
Am i the only one who accepts the offer happily?
nah i did that as well
Why her mom was already dying why make her mom go through all that pain again.
