Hi sir, really interesting, thank you. But I would like to know, what if I had 2 action buttons for every single record in a continuous form and I want to hide one of the buttons when field is = to 1 for example? because conditionnal formatting doesn't work with buttons. Thank you
You can make fake button from textbox and over textbox place transparent rectangle. Make conditionnal formatting on textbox for show/hide "button" and on transparent rectangle set OnClick. It has a little imperfection ... the graphic effect of pressing the button is missing. Don't forget to program the click on a transparent rectangle when the "button" is hidden (if someone clicks into the "empty" space), so that nothing happens.
I am using Access 2019 and I am trying to hide a tab control page based on the value in a field that is populated from a combobox. Contitional formating is not available for that short of thing. Is it even possible to do something like this? Thanks in advance.
Great video and simple explain I have a Continuous Form that have two combo boxes if i don't link them together all values appear but if I link the two combo boxes for make one of them depend on other combo for more easier chose from them the values never show in the second combo I try to make code with if condition in vba to re query the combo values to show it in all records but I couldn't how could I do that and thank you for all what you do
Very informative. It worked for me in forms. But when I tried to create a report the vba seems not working at all. All the fields which where set to be invisible is visible for some reason.
The coding would be different for a report. You can change the visible property in the build event for the detail section. I know I've covered this in a video before... this one I think... 599cd.com/CanGrow
@@599CD ok man i got it and yes i find the solution in forums and others sources, dont worry about it., and yes it work in a subform but not wen is a new record so i have to chek the code
@@599CD i learn this stuff all by my self i have more than 12 years working with ms access., i love your youtube channel cuz is fasts an useful information but i know much of the estuff you upload, but sometimes i have cuestions
I would just like to say that your help videos are amazing and if I could I would become a member but can't afford to at present. I am a complete novice and was struggling with this but I realised that it was working on the database but not working on my form. I have realised that I needed the "on Click" event to get this to work. Which blew my mind. So thank you as I would be so lost without your help. I am trying to upgrade the standard Task management database provided with access to include recurring tasks and reminders. Hopefully even a calendar. I have a lot to learn still to get this done.
Thank you for an informative video. I was little unclear about the On Current event, so this help clarify how it is used.
Glad it was helpful!

You'd need an OnCurrent event to change the Visible property. 599cd.com/OnCurrent

Use an AfterUpdate event and the Visible property. 599cd.com/AU

I can't get this to work if I use a check box. can you show me where to look or how to do it?
Should work exactly the same way. Just check for TRUE or FALSE. [MyCheckBox]=TRUE
