I just ordered this product and with this review it looks like a great tool to have in a shop environment. It is one of the few tools I've added to my inventory of tools. Thanks for also demonstrating a demo on how this tool works. My coworkers will enjoy having another battery tester in the shop.
Your welcome. I'm more than happy with mine. I tend to reach for it before the shops tester. Let me know what you think once you get it and use it for a while.
@@shanersmechaniclife3164 I used the battery tester at the shop I work at for the first time. I was only able to do a battery state of health test. When it comes to printing out the results I have to open the battery tester and manually tear out the battery test results. I do look forward to using it more but not at the shop because it does not get counted in the company system unlike the shop battery tester that all the technicians in the shop share. I think its a good battery tester overall with other tests that the device can do.
I've seem other videos demonstrating the capabilities of this instrument but yours brings much more clarity of its capabilities. My research finishes here, I am buying one . Thank you !
Nice demo, Shaner. To the point, simple. And unlike other reviews, you pretty much tested all its features. Great point about ensuring the battery is fully charged so the unit gives it a fair assessment.
Yes, appreciate that you tested when discharged and charged. Researching into buying one of these. Looks like a decent bit of kit, and with 4 cars in the household it could come in handy as we go through winter here in the UK.
@@shanersmechaniclife3164 Its great. I had a heap of old batteries in various machinery and different states of condition. It is very accurate in my opinion and the quality and user interface very good. Great tool!

The battery voltage is above normal range, probably because it has just been charged. Try starting engine once or twice or turn the headlights on for a minute. It should test after that once voltage is about 12.6 volts (fully charged battery voltage.) Let me know how it works out. Thanks for watching and commenting.
So.... LED lights are actually high speed strobe lights. This is why anything with LED lights, bulbs, etc appear to flash on your camera. Thats because if your camera takes video at 30 fps or 60 fps that means your camera actually takes 30 or 60 photos per second and while your LED light is strobing away, you get shots between strobes. Kinda interesting eh?
I have tested a few new and older batteries after a recharge with no problems. I will test my topdon up against our shop tester and let you know if the results match up. Thanks for commenting.
@@shanersmechaniclife3164 I’m considering to buy a BT200, did you compare the BT200 with the other testers in the shop? Are the readings the same and correct?

It is still my go-to tester. I'm glad I bought it. Thanks for watching and commenting

Thanks for the great comment. I always charge the battery to 100% and retest it. I don't believe in selling stuff the customer doesn't need.

Good review, so many options to choose from when looking at these things, Your vid helped me decide on the BT200. Thanks.
How have you liked it so far? I have had no issues with mine.

How do I load test AGM deep cycle batteries?
Thank you good info!!!!!
Your welcome, glad you enjoyed it. I'm still happy I bought that tester. I use it regularly.
How durable are the clamps and cables? I’ve seen reviews on Amazon saying they are not too good.
I'm happy with the clamps. A manageable size and they grip well.

Good video and good show how to use yhe top don thx👍🕊🌹👈
Thanks for the comment and for watching. It's a nice little tester at a good price.
I have one and find if you test it twice to 3 times you get different readings all the time?
Have you tried another brands??
I have also used an older OTC battery tester. The topdon is definitely handy with the shorter cables. How about you? What brands have you tried?
Nice tool
voltage is too high remove surface charge what does this means my battery is AGM

What does battery health mean even when it shows 100% charged?
Sounds like regardless it’s fully charge the battery is only 44% healthy which means it’s dying. Probably last couple more weeks.
I tested the brand new battery (efb). It showed me replace... I sent the topdon bt200 back to the seller for a refund ....
