While Kenya's President William Ruto is on a historic visit to the US, he is facing outrage back home. Many Kenyans are fuming over Ruto's luxury chartered jet for his trip to the US. The price of hiring the luxury jet in which Ruto and his delegation travelled is estimated to be $1.5 million. This has left people outraged given his government's austerity measures and a worsening cost-of-living crisis. Critics say the government is using taxes to fund its extravagance. William Ruto has been facing criticism over his frequent trips abroad. He has made over 50 trips abroad since he became President in 2022, averaging over three a month. Watch this video for details.

There are those kenyans whom recently floods swept away their homes and burried some of their family members. They moved to safer places(schools) with promises from Ruto that government will look for new land and settle there all victims. To date, nothing have happened and the victims are told to vacate their current shelter(school) and move back to their affected homes.
Here comes a President who forgot his affected people hence travelling in luxury jet.

As a Kenyan and a big fan of firstpost, this piece is something i have been waiting for since Pres Ruto left for the US. The presidential jet, a fokker 70 cant make a transatlantic flight, bearing that in mind, he would have opted for a commercial flight, nairobi-new york is a twice a week scheduled flight that would have served him and his entourage perfectly fine and in line with austerity measures that he keeps preaching. The punitive taxes his administration is levelling on us coupled with this kid ostentatious preferences is an insult to us..

He got to plead to Baiden. 72% of the debt is with the world bank and imf, and Kenya has to pay back. The rest of the debts are with China 5.1%, Japan 3.8%, and some western banks, and Kenya has to back too. Problem. But using an expensive hired is foolish.

We still have IDPs stranded in Kenya, but all they can think is funding their lavish lifestyles and going to holidays in the cover up of sourcing for funds. Lunch for the needy school going childrens was removed. So our Kenyan children to go without food since they cannot allocate funds for them but they can waste Kenyan hard earned money to enjoy life.
