- The North Fork of the Shoshone is a fun, splashy river with Class 3 and Class Fun rapids. It's snow melt driven and runs early summer until the snow is gone. Wyoming River Trips, based in Cody, has a great trip on the upper part of the river using their exclusive permit access. It makes for a great family fun day in a beautiful valley outside Yellowstone National Forest.
Great video! Thanks for sharing and thanks for spending time with us while in Cody. Come back anytime, we'd love to see ya!
Great float! Do you recall the day and flow rate for this trip?
Hello! Thank you for the comment. This took place on 7/3/22. The gauge height was 5.64', and the high for the season was 7.1' in late June. So definitely coming down but still plenty of water. No true flat water and lots of splashy waves.
@@jeffestill wonderful thank you so much for the beta! I may try to hit it late summer. Cheers!
@@GatewoodBrown Sounds good. Just as a heads up, I believe they stop running this river by late July. It's 100% snow melt/natural source fed and drops fast after the snow is gone. Wyoming River Trips can fill you in.
@@jeffestill that makes sense! My thinking this year is that they’ve had so much snow it’ll be running in July at levels I’m more comfortable kayaking. So much snow up there!
