Thank you so much Kaela for deciphering each and every word of scripture! It is so easy to just read along chapter to chapter and NOT really understand what I have just read. However...you make it possible for me tototally comprehend each word! I've never had this intense experience before!! This 68 yr old widow is FINALLY getting it!! 🙌🏼🙏🙌🏼
Thank you for the link to the commentary on this chapter. Also, much thanks for your read-along-videos. It's been uplifting and encouraging. What a joy to fellowship (sort of?😊) with sisters and brothers in the Faith -- (reading, taking interest, digging deeper, having Faith in, utilizing, praying,... in His Word, alongside with others). 💝
You are so welcome. And PRAISE GOD! 🙌🏼 I seriously had no idea this would happen, or that I would even continue past the book of Matthew. God has blown me away with this community and the fruit of this seed!!! 🙌🏼
Listening to your reading, "Given the thorn in the flesh....... to keep me from becoming proud" ---- I pondered on that a moment. I wrote it on a sticky note and am placing it in my journal. After I wrote it, I sat and looked at those words. I began to doodle in the corner of the sticky note as I pondered those words. All I could think about and what I ended up doodling was the crown of thorns. I then heard the Scripture you read -- "My Grace is all you need..." I wrote that next to the doodle of the crown of thorns. So heartwarming when I think of it. And, so humbling.
Oh yes Lord your grace is sufficient for me . Lord your power is made perfect in weakness. Thanks keala for all you do in the breakdown . My niv; puts it, I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up in the third heaven.❤❤❤❤❤
I believe the thorn of the flesh was given to Paul by the enemy not God. I found this on line. [Paul also says that the affliction came from or by a “messenger of Satan.” Just as God allowed Satan to torment Job, God allowed Satan to torment Paul for God’s own good purpose.] However, we also know that what God intends for good, the enemy often uses for evil.
My NIV translation, says I know a man , Thanks for that Kaela! So I checked into the "thorn" in Paul's flesh. So in context Paul's "thorn" was a demonic angel sent by Satan, which continually stirred up persecution against him. This is verified in 3 Old Testament references Num 33:55:Josh.23:13 & Judg. 2:3) where people are spoken of being "thorns in your side" & "thorn in your eyes". Paul asked the Lord to remove persecution from him , not sickness, and the Lord told him in v9 His grace was sufficient. It also states that we are not redeemed from persecution, and Paul later stated that in 2 Timothy 3:12 which reads "All that live godly in Christ shall suffer persecutions. See Acts 14:19-20 .. and back to 2 Cor 12 v10 ....for when I am weak, then I am strong... I really learnt something new today 🔑🔓 Thanks for pressing that Kaela.🧡🧡
