Ben casually talking to camera while the others are dying in the background might be the best thing I've seen on the internet in years
He's had years of practice working through chaos thanks to the shenanigans the boys pull!
Ben: casually talking over the retching. Practically holding up the trash can for Barry.
Thecla Shubert 🎵Barry and Ben are the best of friends
In a scale of 1 to 10, I think Ben's enjoyment during this was a solid 11.
I know this comment was forever ago, but I couldn't help but think of Ben reliving his uni days with that lol
And Barry, for that matter.
I love how Ben is just standing there describing the century egg, completely unphased while the other lads are behind him, huddled around their respective vomit vessels.
The way that egg just flew out of Barry's mouth had me rollin'.😂
thanks to your comment, i swear i almost chocked on my gum haha.
Best bit ever! I was laughing from James sniff until end credits rolled LMFAO.
@@waterandsteel4713 Barry going from the self-hype grunting to the projectile expulsion had me cackling so loud I woke up my roommate!
Imagine Ben actually spending all day trying to catch a squirrel, that’s a video in itself 😂
Actually people are hunting American Grace girls in Britain and getting paid for them so he probably just paid someone for it and then he cooked it.
Noooo! Mike hasn't become fat! He looks amazingly healthy and beautiful as always.
JaffaCakesAndCockMonkeys YT funny 😂
seems like people don't know the difference between 'gaining some weight' and 'getting fat'
He defo gained some weight. But handsome as always :)
Yeah body positivity! You’re a good person
Maybe it's because I'm Asian, but I'm not phased by these. The century egg is good if prepared well
It is an acquired taste though
white folk weaaakkk
Yeah, but their reactions could make anyone not want to eat it. There are those people who might love it, but by watching thier reactions won't ever eat it.
True, cooked right makes it so creamy and delicious
I love century egg congee, it's basically my favorite breakfast dish 🙈
century eggs are actually really good, but not when they're... whole. My parents like eating them just with soy sauce but I think it's pretty gross that way. You gotta make congee with TONS of scallions, pork bits, soy sauce, and chopped up century egg cooked in. Then it's amazing! You can't just plop it on top!
I'm watching this in 2019, was this the comment that broke Mike forever? You're not fat Mike! Also you are the cutest one
They said that with Jamie being a big guy too.
Key point. Getting fat. Mike wasn't fat, then he got a soft belly... It was cute. RIP belly.
RUUD
Not so much fat as unhealthy. Soft in the middle, face puffy. Jamie is built that way, he isn't too overweight to the extent of it affecting his well-being.
@@bcaye rude much? I fail to see why people seem to think they’re entitled to make comments like this.
Barry saying "squirrel" was about the cutest thing ever.
Mmm...century egg, but they're eating the egg like Americans eat Vegemite. We don't eat them in such big bites by itself, it's to add flavour and texture to congee or tofu. But I understand that it wouldn't be as entertaining if they just ate it and go "ok".
Well.... Eating them in whole slices is also good, though. With either black vinegar or soy sauce on top, I prefer soy sauce myself. And a dash of sesame oil.
I sometimes just eat the whole slice. Need to get used to the taste first I guess.
Joseph Chang I am American and love Vegimite. the first time I had century egg I didn't like it. I tried it again about a year later and while I don't mind the taste it can't handle the texture. it's a mind of matter thing, but I can't get my mind over it
Yeah, my family eats it too, and honestly we put in tiny slivers of it into congee. It's delicious but I'd never eat it straight up.
Joe Chang, hey! American who loves Vegemite *and* eats it properly.
Hey Boys, pay no attention to the nay sayers! Loving this new format. Longer episodes of the SORTED guys are always welcomed!
YAY! We're so glad you're enjoying it!
The Moth Larvae can be a thing of the forgotten past though, if you don't mind. lol
Mike was surprising chill about eating the pork tongue. Bet he's tasted lots of tongues
i immediately regret this comment
cow tongue is nice
+Nad Noord that was beautiful
Cotw
incredible
Im also watching this in 2019. I cannot see through the tears in my eyes. I love how Ben gets revenge.
I don't get why people say Mike is fat... sorry, but fat is something else, he's just not very thin. He's still slimmer than the average, though.
Yea he is small and thin for both his height and how wide his shoulders are
he even said he was fat.. he's back to normal now
@@Annie1962 He'd gained a little weight but not enough to put him in the Fat category! People have an anorexic mentality. Anyone not absolutely skinny is called fat. It's ridiculous.
I agree !!
He is so far from fat!
Ultimate Budget Battle maybe? Everyone gets 10 pounds or so, and has to prepare the best meal for 2 that they can. Perhaps you can even do a bit of time following them in the shops as they hunt for the best deals and such.
Shaun Prince YES
Shaun Prince YES
Shaun Prince fabulous idea!
Great idea!
you may have already seen it by now, but Ben and James did this the other day!
Ben's shopping basket: silicon bake ware, red shorts, sprigs of mint, strange exotic meats.
Mike is not fat. He is delightfully thick
lolXD
Saf Hammed Christmas is nearly here - so he's just getting a little bit, 'festively-plump'...
Saf Hammed true
mike is x-tra chucking
He's voluptuous.
9:44 Mike was ready for some balut right there!
I know you filmed this like 6 years ago, but Barry immediately spitting out that egg is one of the funniest things I’ve seen 😂
Someone start a petition for more James, Please
2019 and you have your wish
@@Annie1962 Best Thing ever
century egg and salted pork congee has been my favourite ever since i was a little kid ^^
RIGHT? delicious, they're missing out
Creamy and gelatinous.
"This time we're going to keep it more simple!" -Proceeds to braise in an aromatic broth for 8 hours.
You basically need to cook it low and slow to have it even close to edible
James' "TA-DAH!" makes everything even better haha
I'm crying.. the reaction, while Ben talks about the egg is pure entertainment. Just wonderful and hilarious.
i was expecting something much worse than century eggs tbh. but also, no one eats it in such quite large chunks.
Nita Pie I shove the whole egg in my mouth and eat it. I looooove century eggs. 🤤
Watching Barry mentally preparing himself was priceless
Bless him!
a little bit of defense for the "smelliest fruit in the world' (aka glorious durian). the durian that we get here in the UK tastes NOTHING like how it is back home in Asia (Malaysia for me!). i think the ones here taste horrid too. if you guys ever get a chance to visit Malaysia, get a local to bring you to a durian stall, and try a REAL durian!
I concur!
Tried it in Phillipines. It was just fine. I surprised locals who thought I was going to make a fuss. I even ate a balut.
durian from medan indonesia also so tasty...
True!!
Huh, I've gotta try it, I keep chickening out when I go back to HK every year but I think I just need to give it a go
Love squirrel with rice and gravy.
Whoever you got it from didn't clean it properly because there should be no hair after cleaning it.
I've never tried it, but in some places in the South it is still a staple food.
the way ben just casually keeps talking about century eggs as three of his mates absolutely heave their guts out on every available surface has me rolling.
Feels weird seeing #6 and being disappointed at how normal it is for me, yet abnormal for them. That's what I eat with porridge too!
Same here...and the chicken heart? Thats delicious..
Right! I loved all of that, and cook with it whenever I can buy it.
...Ok. Minus the roasted silkworm larvae. Nowhere around me sells that
I love chicken hearts, never had them like skewers, but I am used to them since childhood. My grandma used chicken, rabbit and goose hearts in her soups and broths. Also kidneys, liver and necks. Absolutely fantastic! (Czech republic) Actually before mankind started to farm, early hunters generally gave meat to their wolves / dogs and ate the entrails themselves for the vitamins bomb.
we also eat soup with the chicken hearts/lungs/liver here, we call it 'molleja' in spanish, but we'll eat it in the winter, to cure a cold, and even hangovers lol it's soooo good
I am from Poland, so culinary culture is a bit similar. I had hearts in soup as a kid, it's good, but you really have to try them grilled. Add some cumin, it's really good.
We do curried chicken hearts in South Africa. So good, I'd have chicken hearts any day of the week. We also eat beef tongue very often.
It really saddens me that I'm slowly coming to terms that people don't like eating century egg as more youtubers eat it as a challenge... It's one of my favorites to eat with rice porridge...
LeeTbeats I love century egg
LeeTbeats, yessssss and it's amazing with soy sauce and congee :D
yeah, they say its bad BUT ITS BECAUSE YOURE EATING TOO MUCH IN ONE BITE MATE
I love eating it with pickled ginger :D
theres never too much century egg lol when i was little and could get away with eating massive amounts of sugar my family let me dip century egg in sugar and eat it whole
Tongue is the best served with Mayo / mayo&mustard mix and the vinegar is not necessary . Chicken hearts open their flavour best in subtle flavour soups and the texture is actually really pleasant
I hope they bring this back. Such an interesting series
Love century egg with congee!
I grew up eating century eggs, and I love them
those century eggs are looking delicious, you guys should dip it into chinese vinegar mix with garlic and sesame oil. Or just make rice porridge with minced pork, that's how we eat it in China, seldom people will eat it directly
Now that i'm rewatching it, it would be nice to either make an Ultimate Battle with "exotic meats" or a few recipes with unusual meats. Like the hearts of chickens are delicious af, we also have a soup in Poland made out of the blood of ducks which is so so tasty !!!! :D Would be interesting to see you guys make a full blown meal with your own twist again !!! love those exotic meat videos
that century egg reaction, jeez.
i like it despite not being in a region where they are usually found, in fact many have had similar reactions when they see or smell them, still a great ingredient.
Ben always looks so pleased with himself during these exotic meat episodes it's hilarious
I adore century eggs, amazing texture and perfect in congee
I'm from Poland, and to me pork tongue and chicken heart are not exotic. We call this offal, and it is common thing in our tables. Therefore haggis for me was a normal thing to being in Scotland. Greetings from Polish and specific to James, because he's from Scotland :)
Greetings from Poland, my fault xD
I can't believe I just found this channel. I love watching your videos. Also I think Ben is quite dreamy. He's cute, he knows how to cook and most importantly he wears glasses. I quite like men with glasses.
I have to agree with you. And very intellectual
Chicken hearts where my favorite foot growing up every time my family went to Brazil me and my brother would eat 100 chickens worth
I love chicken hearts in gravy over rice. In fact have some in the freezer right now. I poach with seasoning, take out, trim and cut in half. Make the gravy using the stock and some sliced mushrooms.
Yeah chicken hearts are good.
Where did you get the squirrel? Did one of you just run over it on your way to work?
Mimi or they took a stroll in the park
Mimi to be honest, I'm pretty sure the pet store would be horrified to know one of their guinea pugs was going to be slaughtered for a meal
well, chef Andrew Zimmer was once cooking this squirrels when they're "in season" as in, their population at the park has gone beyond normal and hunting them for consumption is permitted. Might be in Central Park, can't really remember. But he said it taste like chicken, so yea
century eggs is quite common in Singapore
Shohun Suresh Right? I love century eggs.
Shohun Suresh Was looking for this :)
Century eggs is sedap
Century Eggs are awesome! Have them as it is with pickled ginger. Delicious! :D
century eggs are so good
Hate it when Ben goes shopping 🛍
So do we...
SORTEDfood I love you
SORTEDfood we want a fridge cam where Ben goes to the supermarket and maybe do something like take home chef
"No...no!Is it that flippin half cooked-born little shi..."-Mike 2016
He was obvs. thinking about balut, which is indeed pretty revolting stuff IMO.
I have had squirrel a number of times as a child. Mom cooked it so well. I will forever have fond memories of it. Chicken and Turkey hearts? DELICIOUS!
Chicken hearts were my favourite part of the chicken growing up. I‘ve also had the tongue of lamb numerous times (I come from Morocco, so almost every Eid), and I got to say it is one of the tenderest pieces of meat and I absolutely love it!
You're not supposed to eat preserved duck eggs like that. Nobody in China eats them that way. There are many ways to prepare them, to name a few: dice them up and mix them into pork porridge, or dice and then mix with tofu, soy, ginger, spring onion and sesame oil. In short, we don't eat them plain and whole.
Zhiyuan Xu in Malaysian and Singapore at least, we do eat them exactly that way! as a topping for porridge :)
I've eaten them heaps of times with Congee, so do my friends but normally not a big piece at once. They want to make good TV like Asian or American people eating Marmite as a big mouthful.
If you cook the chicken hearts Chicken Adobo style, it would be very yummy.
Great tip, we'll give it a go next time!
I've eaten chicken heart and chicken liver with a tomato sauce, also a filipino recipe and loved it as a child.
They are!
I’m really late but I agree. The heart is my favorite part of the chicken.
Haha I just ate same chicken heart adobo earlier
Ooh I adore chicken hearts, they're pleasantly chewy. We usually buy them together with livers, and cook them with a bit of tomato sauce and mushrooms. Delicious with rice or mashed potatoes.
Never had pork tongue, but I have had cow tongue which is larger. Pretty good and makes nice soup. You wimps :P
+kaulitzgil you're definitely braver than we are!
I love chicken hearts!
To be fair I don't think I could have braved the egg, not a fan of strong smells!
I know right! I quite like Chicken hearts with rice, while Beef tongue is absolutely delicious :)
Yessss! We eat cow's tongue all the time where I live! tbh it's so expensive it's a treat (at least to me), but the taste is amazing, I love eating it in tacos... also whenever we eat roasted chicken I love eating the lungs, heart and everything else from the chicken it's got lots of flavor
Venison/Elk is great. I pressure can venison, then when I use it take it out of the jar, add some beef stock and bring it to a simmer and serve it in a bun. Squirrel can be very good as well, but skin it first, section it up, dredge in flour and spices and pan fry it in some butter and olive oil.
The chicken hearts we also pressure can. Then when preparing them, dredge in seasoned flour and pan fry in butter and olive oil. The pressure canning makes them nice and tender.
I love how Barry psyches himself up for the Century egg and then immediately chokes it back out lol
As a brazilian, I am absolutely shocked you guys didn't liked the chicken heart, it's such a common and loved thing here. :0
Heh, now I understand how people feel when you eat something ''exotic'' but its actually normal in their country.
I've been binge watching this channel for a while now and I laughed so hard at the end of this clip that I woke up my sleeping baby. Thanks a lot guys.
Also, I think the next exotic meat party should include Japanese natto (fermented soy bean). I think Barry and Mike would love that one. :D
The Century Egg is quite a nice commoners food in Hong Kong and it is diced in to small cubes, then cooked with lean pork (optional: marinated) in porridge for a long time. And it tastes great!!!
But as tasty as they are, be careful of fake century eggs from China......
Yan Tse 皮蛋瘦肉粥!😍
Yan Tse century egg is so good with stir fry as well with lettuce tomatos and very thin slices of meat with a dipping sauce of fish sauce, sugar and lemon juice
Yan Tse I agree but the bigger bits of century egg definitely make me gag a little, I need to eat it in much smaller pieces in congee
I would definitely not eat it in the big pieces the way Ben served it up
Chestbumphero I've never even heard of it, but it sounds delicious!!
wingedkitsune6 yeah... besides, the flavor is usually infused into the porridge/congee, which would turn a spoonful of the product a taste explosion of umaminess and savoriness. So big pieces doesn't do the job well.
Yan Tse you just need to get passed the fermented smell and how spicy it is, after that it's so good
I like it when Ben hides the harder flavours, gives them a chance to like more exotic flavours
I’m so sorry for laughing at your expense. That was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I’m howling.
I love how Ben gets revenge.
Ben: "Sorted!"
Mike: *deadly stare that could kill a full-grown rhinoceros in 0.3 seconds*
Barry: *spends rest of the day on the toilet/over the garbage can and avoids eggs for two months straight*
Jamie: *totally disgusted, feels like his tongue is shriveling and falling off*
aw come on, Century Eggs (皮蛋) aren't that bad! Chop it up into smaller pieces and put it into some rice porridge, and it's awesome. :)
it's divine, it is on of my favorite type of egg
I've had it once but I don't think it was prepared right from what I've read. The texture also got to me.
Agreed. With some salted egg too.. best way to have congee. Even for a western palate.
What about Balut? Have you had that?
But century eggs taste so good with porridge!! You guys are overreacting lol
Sunny Qin yeahhh, i know right!! they taste way better with porridge 😂
i reckon it's cause they eat so much, it''s amazing little by little. not like the a quart of the entire egg at once
they ate a quarter of it, barely with any of the congee lol. The taste will be too strong for someone who have never tasted it. Mostly because the strong smell of the yolk I think.
same!! century egg is delicious! my two favourite eggs to eat with porridge/congee: salted egg and century egg!
just checking, do u guys eat it with pickled ginger?
It would be really funny if they tried Rocky Mountain oysters😂
We didn't have much money when I was a kid, so we usually got cheap stuff like cows tounge, blood pudding, baked cauliflower etc. Everyone once in a while we got a bit of dried reindeerheart (expensive), that is delicious. I didn't enjoy surströmming when I was a kid but I love it now, you put a little bit of it on flatbread with butter, potatoes, sourcream and red onions.
I'm brazilian so seeing you making those faces w the chicken heart was a bit... strange. Chicken hearts are so good, one of the most expected dishes in our barbecues
Hannah Menachem omg yes, chicken hearts are still my favorites at churrascos
i think the hearts were undercooked and barely seasoned.
Never had them but I really wanna try them.
had them some weeks ago (venezuelan here) and they were pretty good, I'm thinking of making some pate with them... but I still don't like chicken liver or kidneys...
Undercooked or not, I love chicken heart in any shape and form. Same with pig tongue (or ox tongue, or duck tongue...) Well, I'm Asian, I guess that explains a lot? (I'm so ready to bite into that whole tongue! Mouth watering!!)
"Mike has become so fat"
What am I then? A hippopotamus?
Is it just me or does "exotic meat party" sound slightly dirty
+Sissel I bet Ben wrote the title.
That reply deserves a Comment of the Week spot
I love Ghost Trick :D
Coffee And I love coffee
Sissel Oh ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Don’t care how many times I watch this, that century egg is hysterical!!
dipping century eggs in Chinese vinegar helps take off some of the "nauseousness"
if you separate them you find that the "white" is actually pretty flavourless and not bad, it's the yolk that is a little difficult to eat for beginners since its so creamy and pungent-tasting (which is where vinegar really helps)
looks like a great level up!
It was SO TASTY!
SORTEDfood we are hungry stop saying it was tasty please I'm on a diet 😭😭
SORTEDfood are you sure?
OHHHH IT FINALLY CAME TRUE, EXOTIC MEAT PARTY PART 3, THANKS SORTED
YOU ARE SO WELCOME
Jamie is still an alternate universe Sue Perkins.
Also, you should have looked up some good mexican "lengua" recipes. That stuff makes the BEST taco meat. Buttery goodness.
Lengua tacos are my favorite from the taco truck! Favorite experience at a Mexican restaurant: we were sitting at the bar. I was happily eating a few lengua tacos, and I understood just enough of the conversation next to me to understand they were asking the server if the gringa knew what she was eating. I was oddly proud of myself.
I was eating a pork tongue sandwich while watching this funnily enough. At the "Proud'a you" moment I almost choked to death from laughter 🤣🤣🤣!!!
Mexican cuisine has lengua or beef tounge, it's delicious and has a roast beef flavor but with a Mexican twist.
Well, typically one doesn't prepare tongue by shoving it in Jamie's ear.
Jamie gagging into a sauce pan is the classiest thing I've seen
Mike's comment was so mean. So here's something nice: how he just ate all this bizarre kinda disgusting meat, that was really manly! That's sexy
That century egg was hilarious Barry your killing me
aww. I love century egg and congee. It's THE breakfast of Champions.
Scene at 10:45, the background while Ben is explaining the food is amazing :D it's like a war scene and Ben is the overpowered enemy.
I Love all of these guys...so hilarious to watch, especially this one...my dog actually got up & started barking when the guys were dry retching...funny as...i was in stitches too...
1. Elk. Good meat that. Here in Canada it is part of the class of meat known as "Venison" which also includes Deer and Moose. Dry because non domestic animals are low in fats (we domesticated fat nor flavour). I like them mixed with some pork belly and done as sausages that are only flavoured with garlic and smoke from the smoker.
2. Squirrel is a very common meat in large regions of the USA and yes Peru guinea pig is as common as hot dogs on street corners. I have both on my 'to eat' list, I have in mind to try them minced in a dumpling type dim sum or perogie.
3. And the worms ate into his brain... thank you Pink Floyd not sure I can ever look at wormy like critters and eat them BUT would try them if in a group.
4. Hearts are sold individually yes, but more often in mixed packages called giblets. Treat them much the way you do kidney and make a steak and giblets pie and you may find you like them a lot. I pre-portion mine into ~50 gram zip lock bags, and add them to rice when cooking rice for myself (a simplified take on Louisiana Dirty Rice).
5. I love congee and I have tried Century Eggs the exact same way (and a few other ways) and I have to say that I just have not been able to develop a like for them. I find that Tea Egg or Salted Duck Egg is better on congee.
Loving the low budget presenting cards Ben has 😂
Jamie’s bacon sandwich:
All of the bread+ all of the butter+ all of the bacon and maple syrup
You can also find chickens hearts, livers, and gizzards a lot in the southern states. I like the gizzards. Soak in milk for an hour. Boil till cooked and make sure to keep it from boiling over. Egg wash and flour. Fry till golden brown.
I have eaten all of those and they all tasted good. The pig's tongue is very good in a curry, the moth larvae are great deep-fried after being marinated in finish sauce and chilli sauce. Chicken hearts are easiest served grilled after being marinated in Japanese soya sauce, honey, black pepper or paprika and a touch of chilli juice.
2:36 Mike: "Aww it got hairs on it aww there are hairs all over it"
Ben: "dig in, in 3 2 1"
Mike: (still eats it)
You guys eat moth larva like oh well not to bad then freak out over chicken hearts? Soak them in a chilli salt water then fry in some fish batter and they are freaking awesome
that sounds so yummy!
Ikr chicken heart is great. Had it a like a Japanese yakatori place was amazing.
You don't even gotta do that. If you cover them in Onion and Garlic powder with olive oil and back them in the oven they are amazing. It's no different than like s dark meat butttt its irony which I adore.
I think chicken hearts (compared to a lot of meats) have a huge huge range of how good they can be to how awful they can be. Not knocking Ben’s skills but it probably wasn’t an ideal preparation
please go see that aftertaste its the best
It was the worst!
Do you boil the century eggs before you serve it??
SORTEDfood lol
Pork tongue, chicken heart and century egg all taste great in a chinese style porridge aka congee.
I have to say, as someone who is Korean and lives in Japan both of us are very fond of ox and pig tongue, however boiling it is probably the worst way to enjoy it! Real way to get the best of it is slice it paper thin then grill over charcoal gogi (Kbbq) or yakiniku style wrapped in ssam (purple lettuce) and a good smear of sesame oil mixed with salt, pepper and garlic or ssamjang (a type of Korean dipping sauce made from fermented soybeans, chilli paste and sesame oil with sugar or rice syrup)
When you realize you’re weird because you eat congee and century eggs as a comfort food 😂
You’re not weird, they’re just not used to your food culture. No one’s food is weird 💛
@@lel4perI think you’re right, however, there’s probably only one country who thinks that fermented herring isn’t weird - with the rest of the world thinking it is weird and an affront to the art of food cooking. Ahem. Yes. Swede here (loving the aformentioned fish).
Not at all we’re just not used to your type of food cuisine is all!
I'm wondering what Ben marinated the chicken hearts with...,in Brazil we just have it with a little bit of salt, have it at a barbecue and its delicious!
Daniel Hwang my dad used to marinate it in some salted water and herbs when we were feeling faaancy :)
Daniele Fritzen really? that sounds interesting! Never had it like that
Barry, bro - do you even lift?
😂
Been enjoying chicken hearts in gravy over rice for years. Cook in seasoned water with onions, take out, trim and slice. Make gravy out of the stock and sliced mushrooms. Going to make it soon too.
That last scene with the boysd gagging and Ebbers giving us the technical chat. GOld!
I've had tongue many times before but usually cow tongue.
Ox tongue is lovely.
Barry catapulting the egg left me dead 😂😂🤣
Chicken heart is fucking delicious, I don't know what's wrong with these guys.
also, as a Canadian, it's just super fun to watch people discover maple bacon
IOnceAteAPinecone yea but it looks like it was slightly undercooked, which would make the meat very tough. That might be why their reaction was so strong.
Elk is awesome. Moose too. As a Swede who used to live up north the first one was basically just normal lunch.
It's been three years! We need exotic meat party 4!!
