Hi fellow treasure hunters, greetings from Poland. I want to share with you the sad message that from 01.01.2018 metal detecting in Poland will be illegal and all detectorists will be criminals. The police already have new procedures to control every detectorist they encounter. Theoretically it will be possible to ask for the permission but you have to get one not only from the land owner but also from the competent authority. The whole procedure is taking age. And the permission is granted for just one day and field so basicly it is very hard to obey that layw and practice our hobby. I just had to said it. RIP Polish treasure hunters :(

You know why you only found the IHP at that Confederate hospital in Gettysburg? Because when I hunted it 15 years ago it was already pounded to death. Worked it hard with no success including along the stream. The bad news is the owner -nice guy- had been letting people hunt the property for a very long time before I got to it in 2002!

Tough site
That is what I am used to out here in Ohio. If I want to find something good I have to go to an old park and just be patient. Door knocking is nice as it has a bigger payoff when you are on a hot site, but it seems like it is hot or cold! When I have been skunked too many times I will go to an old trusty park and find something and IHC to make me feel better :)

Have you found any other counterfeit coins? Perhaps a shilling. I just can't see putting all the effort required to make pennies.
I’m sure we have. Hard to tell when a coin doesn’t have much details. A copper had buying power back in the 1700’s. The average pay for 2 weeks of work was a dollar.
