As he runs down the court he intercepts a pass leading to two more points for the Bulls.

SOME PEOPLE DOUBT THAT JORDAN AND BULLS WEREN'T GOING TO BEAT DETROIT, BUT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT MJ DID SCORE 61 POINTS AGAINST THIS TEAM IN1986-87 OVER HIS NORMAL AVERAGE OF 30 PPG!!! BUT THIS IS NOT THE ONLY TEAM, HE ALSO SCORED 63 POINTS AGAINST CELTICS IN THE 1986-87 SEASON AFTER HAVING AN INJURY AND SCORE 69 POINTS AND 18 REBOUNDS AGAINST THE CAVS IN 1990!!! THIS SHOWS THAT JORDAN AND HIS TEAMMATES ARE GETTING STRONGER AND STRONGER BECAUSE OF THE TEAMS THAT PUSHED THEM TO WORK HARD AND BE TOUGH SUCH AS PISTONS, WHICH COMES TO 1991"THE END OF THE BAD BOYS"!!!
See this is what being clutch and taking over games means.....When the games in the balance do u get the ball again & again & again til the game is decided either way but most of the time in your favor. People always wanna compare who’s more clutch buy they only think just the one very very last shot, which does matter obviously... But sometimes u gotta get to that point first before the last second shot can even matter. MJ did that all the time, there were countless times he’d just flip a switch and bring the bulls back and then win the game too.And he always had that in his game.I mean shht look at this video,MJ had a little hair lol.So this still young Mike. This was when he was still a mutant, before he became just a ‘regular’ superhero.
This game is but one example. Watch every single game MJ has ever played in, pay attention to how much he moves around the floor, with and without the ball, and then pay attention to how his team's offense is moving if it's stalling or free-flowing and how often one of his teammates would have a high percentage shot after an extra pass. Also pay attention to how long he holds the ball when he's caught in isolation and how much time he spends thinking about what to do with the ball if he will overextend his possession or he will do something immediate to maintain the teams offensive movement. Also pay attention to how much he moves around the court on defense, in playing the passing lanes, how much effort he puts in grabbing offensive rebounds for second chance points, and how much effort he puts on help D, and contesting shots, inside or at the perimeter. Now imagine doing this every game, for 82 games in a season. His game is high effort, like RIDICULOUSLY high effort, and high risk of injury. His play style would literally destroy someone's knees, and feet, there's no way he would have played 20+ seasons playing like this all the time. Heck, even 10 seasons playing like this can damage your legs joints.

Man, Craig Hodges was such a liability defensively. Check out how he got caught watching the play and let Dumars get that open look on the Pistons’ final possession of the game. Same thing happened when he let Craig Ehlo backdoor him in Game 5 of the 1st round of these same 1989 playoffs vs the Cavs to give Cleveland the lead on the second to last possession of the game. That miscue defensively did however set the stage for MJ’s “The Shot”, but the point remains.
Just for historical context... Joe Dumars was an excellent defender and Jordan was just straight cooking his ass. David Stern over time and Adam Silver destroyed the NBA mainly by removing the competitive element. Soft basketball scoring a bunch of points with low physicality is entertaining to some... But I miss the competitive narrative and passion. The top paid players today make 3-4 times what the entire salary cap was then or 2-2.5 times adjusting for inflation. Point being the energy was electric back then even for prime time regular season games.
I want all the youngsters who disparage the competition of the late 80s and 90s to observe who he had to beat just to get to the Finals. There was much less scoring talent, but NOT defensive talent. This was the era of supreme rim protectors, hand checking, clothesline fouls, and NO SPACING. That last bit should stand out, because he dominated from mid-range and driving to the basket during an era when you could double and triple team players with no concern over giving up outside shots. Pay even closer attention to how he's not complaining after any of the hard fouls where guys are grabbing him about the neck. Just walks to the line and only gets hype back when he does something basketball-related like dunking on them.
This was the game that caused the Pistons to create The Jordan Rules. The Pistons were finally supposed to win a championship this year, but after this game, they were down 2-1 to the Bulls and looked like they might lose............so Zeke was on the phone all night with Dumars I think it was, and that's when all the rough stuff on Mike really started.
What jordan haters don't mention is that the bulls were the only team to be competitive to the pistons that year, they gave them their only 2 losses thoughtout their playoff run and this was when jordan was still running the offense and being heavily utilized. Jordan putting up a shot against 2 or 3 people gave you a better shot to win than giving it to one of his teammates. Thats how great this dude was.
These highlights are amazing. MJ was unreal.
This era can never be replicated or matched, the physicality, the intensity, the crowd noise.
It’s truly unbelievable quick mj was at 6ft 6. Also Mike was always in attack mode. He don’t waste no time getting buckets. Just gettin to it . 🐐
Really good game.
Ice In his veins.
2019 LeBron drives down the lane as the defenders move away from him leading to an uncontested dunk for James. As he runs down the court he whines to the ref that someone touched his hand. 1989 Jordan drives down the lane as the bad boy defenders converge on him with the goal of taking his head off leading to an uncontested dunk for MJ. As he runs down the court he intercepts a pass leading to two more points for the Bulls.
The amount of times this guy scores over double and triple teams is insane
Just watched the game went off in the 4th
Mj loves to crash his defender to the other when someone comes in to double team hahaha.
Wow !
Imagine LePussy going against this defense with these rules.
IMO they would have made him quit.
@@user-gc1wj8tt2p lechoke will cry in hospital
Bruh Lebron is bigger than anyone on the court I don’t think he would had much of a problem against these guys. There can be more than one great player
@@afrosamurai125 he has soft mentally🤫
As if a 6'8" 250 player with Lebron's first step, agility and coordination wouldn't bully the 90s. Y'all delusional. He was being recruited to the NCAA in two contact sports, one of which was football. Jordan is amazing but if he had to guard Lebron he would get torched and he wouldn't be dropping 30.
NOBODY comes close to MJ. Not Kobe not Lebron.
No other player in history made the opponent coaches draft a whole playbook to stop him!!
This is his most underrated game -- he took on the best defense in the league and won by himself
These are the series that Jordan haters point to to say Lebron is the GOAT. As if MJ individually isn’t giving his all. As if he gave up on his team. As if he joined up with other superstars on other teams. Oh wait thats not what MJ did. He improved every year and took it head on. Yes he lost this series but do you see him not trying? Getting outplayed? Never.
5:40
that's talent...In hard defense era..MJ will just lay-up .
if bron played in this Bad Boys Era..he will flop back to back..
Antonio White 1538 put up 59 in Detroit on Easter 1988 too
Yeah, the ONE motherfuckin time MJ beat "The D" with any real shit on the line.
If anyone says someone else is the greatest player of all time other than MJ they got rocks 🪨 in their head
How sick are those Jordan IVs as Mike's getting busy?
Jordan got out of the Jordan rules with sheer grit. LeBron will come out of "LeBron rules" with flops and complaints
Who’s here after episode 2 of the last dance?
Goat
Jordan 🤷🏼
Old heads be lying out their ass about defense in this era!🤣🤣
Ok old head
This game was the reason the Jordan Rules were born.
hard fought victory. its strange, watching those jordan highlights, but chicago down by 13 anyway at one moment.
Until you show me a single player that single handingly destroy teams like Jordan. Please don't compare
Orlando Lewis ....What tf are you talking about? Aint this shit a MICHEAL JORDAN vid? Who's comparing him to who? Where is that in these comments. Who said this to YOU in THESE comments? Just enjoy the vid of one of the best to do it. Who else could you be thinking of that NO ONE ELSE has mentioned in THESE comments? Cmon, this shit is lame what yall do in these MJ-vid comment sections.
@@theloverswineverytime1625 ...The fuck are you talking about idiot? You seem to have an issue with MJ. If so, why are you even here commenting like some little bitch???
theloverswineverytime shut ur ASs up
@@theloverswineverytime1625 You commenting everywhere nigga get a life
This dude obviously has sugar in his tank for Jordan. You upset you can't have suspect boy? 😄
I find it funny when he breaks their defense just shows how great he is 😂
This is Jordan at his athletic peak
Man, Craig Hodges was such a liability defensively. Check out how he got caught watching the play and let Dumars get that open look on the Pistons’ final possession of the game. Same thing happened when he let Craig Ehlo backdoor him in Game 5 of the 1st round of these same 1989 playoffs vs the Cavs to give Cleveland the lead on the second to last possession of the game. That miscue defensively did however set the stage for MJ’s “The Shot”, but the point remains.
Good catch. He had no defensive prowess whatsoever. People, naysayers don't see that. All they want to do is talk shit about Mike.
Jordan! Scores! How's does he do that?
Running Rodman into his own teammate was genius.
Passing of the guard
he was so fast that he seemed like he teleported 3:20
wining bucket off the wrong foot too
They one that one... But lost the rest in that series.... But definitely one of the series that started to build on the Bulls becoming a dynasty.....
When he jumped the grvity turned off
Jordan rules were a thing, this game was in Chicago. In Detroit, different story.
The bulls lost this series regardless of Jordan's greatness, three years in a row.
Much like Detroit did against Boston.
We gotta stop the Jordan/Bron debate… it’s not even close Jordan is light years ahead of everyone
This would have been his best competition. if he could have beat this team,it would have been the only true championship team he beat in his career
What jordan haters don't mention is that the bulls were the only team to be competitive to the pistons that year, they gave them their only 2 losses thoughtout their playoff run and this was when jordan was still running the offense and being heavily utilized. Pippen was still maturing and wasn't a superstar yet.
I thought Jordan couldn't go left according to Thomas? He's dominating this game driving left
They stopped letting him go right the rest of the series and Mike started turning it over
